I've done all the daily deals everyday except one. That day I cleared all the 5* covers and shards with the 40x so I stopped. And the 500 hp for the reset is "paid for" from the dupe costume(already had it prior to the vault).

So what's everyones approach on this? Daily 40x+10x+1x and then reset for 500? Or do you still do the 5/300HP pulls and reset for free?

Buy a single token for 100 HP, but wish I had 1,200 HP to spend?

Buy it out every time. Remaining 5*300 = 1500 or 500 reset. Look at the final 5 items and ask yourself would you buy them for 1000. I've always had at least 2 or 3 LL tokens so the answer has always been yes.

So far in my first 2 times emptying I did not get Okoye or Shang in the 51 pulls so had to wait until next couple days.

Hopefully 3rd time I'll get those in the 51 pulls.

Resetting doesn't make sense unless all thats left is useless red iso. The 500 cost is only 100 saving over buying 3 pulls at 300.

I doubt that you had 240 million HP at one time.

It is hands-down the best vault they've ever given us. No contest. I'm pretty sure it was not meant to be available for HP and resettable - but if that's the case they decided it was not a big enough mistake to end it early and I'm very thankful for that. I have literally never had this many banked Legendary Tokens.

I think I've emptied it 7 times. I went down from 35K Hero points to 10K and opened a fair number of legendary pulls in between to replenish HP. One could argue I should leave some HP in reserve (and I will make sure I don't risk running out in PVP,) but I sincerely doubt we will ever see a vault this good again.

Yeah I agree, this is the best vault ever and I would love to know if it was intentional. It's far better than the anniversary vaults. Without knowing if this was intentional it might create issues around next years anniversary, people might not go in on average vaults while waiting to see what Christmas brings.

I've emptied it every day, so will likely end up spending 70k. But that was the 70k I saved for the anniversary and didn't spend. I will have my first 550 and moved Shang up to 530 something. I have an absolute ton of LT's from this, both from the store and champ rewards. I have a stash over 900 now and that's with almost never having to spend CP.

The 70K I will end up spending could have been absorbed in the cost the 54+ roster slots would have hit me for. That's 67k alone.

It has to have been a mistake.

This was intentional, no doubt in my mind. The surprising thing about it is the length it's running for.

As far as anniversary vault issues, they made that a thing already during the 9th anny. Changed vault contents unannounced. For that reason I didn't spend a single hp on vaults during the 10th. Kept hoping the vaults would get better but they didn't. I even saved my FF tokens lol.

Maybe the anny vaults will be better than the holiday vaults next year or maybe it'll be like this year again. Idk but I'll be ready for either situation again next year.

I'm not sure what it says about the game or its players when the general reaction in this thread is:

Surely they didn't mean to treat us this well; it must have been a mistake! Unfortunately, they will almost certainly realize their error and never do anything so player-friendly ever again...

When I could just as easily hypothesize that they've never made so much money as they did this week selling HP, and I wouldn't be surprised to see vaults like this become more common.

The wrong question: Why are the devs being so "generous"? I mean it still takes thousands of HP to clear the vault and many many players - basically anyone who is still trying to roster all the characters - are probably spending HP as fast as they get it on slots. So most people will need to spend actual cash to take advantage of it. It seems incredibly generous if you are awash in HP and have everyone rostered but if you are not in that position it creates an incredibly tempting reason to spend cash on HP.

The right question: How do you convert people who aren't ready to drop significant cash (anything beyond $5-10 is probably a bit of a hurdle for most players of mobile games) into spending even $20?

Think back to November and the deals they had on offer (after pushing Black Friday, it was extremely disappointing and I suspect the majority of players utterly ignored it especially when you absolutely had to spend cash to get tokens) and ask yourself how much money you think the game took in last month compared to October.

The game's ratio of vets to noobs is increasing for lots of reasons (mostly around the vast disparity in rosters - how many people really want to start 10 years behind players who roll through everything? - and making deals appealing to people who have been around for a while and seen many deals - and ignored them -means increasing the value.

Also of note: the December vault is largely a "catch up" vault for many who are excited by it. Sure, some vets are pushing toons into 550 land but there are a bunch of 550 players who either start dupe Okoyes etc or ignore it. Almost all the characters are over a year old besides Kang so the access to their covers is pretty hard to come by besides sharding. This vault gives a lot of players who are behind a chance to catch up quickly vs sitting around slowly sharding toons and their feeders. This is extremely important in a game like this - making not just new content but helping newer/behind players feel they can continue to be in the mix.

Also.....the game publisher had layoffs just about a month or so ago and let's face it, they probably are trying to see how much they can bring in the 4th quarter and figure out the future a bit heading into 2024 as they assess the various games they publish. Final note: lots of gift cards are exchanged in December so having the vault sitting there before and after Christmas creates demand (I want) which can translate into purchases after a player gets a gift card they are trying to decide where to use.

I suppose, but just compare it to the other vaults that are running right now. 5* covers are rare, sometimes we get one or two, more usually we get 100 or 250 shards. This vault has 5 5* covers and 2 x 250 shards for another three, and these 8 characters are arguably the best in the game. On top of that is 18 Legendary tokens, and four roster slots (worth 1200 each to most of us.)

Compare that to the "Year in Review" vault, which you can't buy pulls for. That has 200 shards for probably the most popular 5* this year, and 100 shards for four others who are distinctly useful. It has 1 LT, which is normal, and a level 4 support which is nice but not earth shattering.

It's night and day. The December Deals vault is many, many times better than anything they've ever given before. There's nothing even close.

The Year in Review vault, like the Black Friday vault, is best considered as a bonus you get pulls for when buying other things. Also having lesser vaults next to DDeals makes the deals looks even better and more appealing as a thing to spend money on to get more hp to pull more.

I have spent more than I thought/wanted lately and yet am tempted to buy another 6k hp for more pulls before it goes. Effective.

Yes, but you're missing my point. I never said the December Deals Vault isn't obviously superior - it is.

I'm saying December Deals can be the new normal going forward. We don't have to settle for mediocre vaults, like we have for so long. There's nothing stopping the devs from making all vaults this attractive. The fact that people were confused why this vault was so good and scared that it was a mistake to be taken away from us just shows how beaten down players are and how low our expectations have fallen for what we deserve.

It probably makes them more money to have players scrambling to come up with thousands of HP every day. And players deserve better ways to progress their characters, as dilution slowly makes everything more difficult with each passing month.

Isn't it fun to speculate about stuff?

Imagine them releasing a vault even BETTER than this one? Neither can I. Pull until your thumbs bleed.

It’d be wild if they did a “January Deals” vault with the same contents, just different characters. It would suck for me since Jane/Shang/Okoye are my only 550s (no one else really close… thanks anniversary!). And I’d much rather spend on this vault with other characters I could use lol.

But imagine if every month we got a “deals” vault with rotating characters. Game changer to the economy for sure. I doubt it though because roster slots buys would essentially be obsolete.

Removing roster slots from that vault is probably the first thing they'll do.
Then double the price at least.
The sad looking wildcard vault right next to the December one is... well, looking sad.

And honestly compared to a normal vault, the Wildcard vault is decent. A single favorite 5* cover's worth of shards is great, there's 10 CP, and while the rest is comparable to a normal Event vault that's not terrible. I've been getting the 100 HP daily deal just to see if I can't score a favorite cover.

Yeah, I really can't. Between the fact that these are what most of us considered the cream of the crop of 5* covers and so many LTs I just plain can't see a better vault as a real possibility, which is why I've brought myself from about 35K Hero Points to 5K.

I'm literally at the highest number of Legendary pulls I've ever had (just under 600) and 267 of them are tokens. I wasn't even this high after they accidentally gave us 4x champ rewards for ascending 4*s, IIRC I was only around 150 or so.

Sure, it will take me a long time to build up that many HP again, and if the "January Deals" vault is just as good with different 5*s I'll go "Ah well, let's see if I can't open a bunch of Legendaries to get enough to empty this a few times." But I really can't imagine this being the case. Maybe they'll do this again next year, but I still doubt it, at the very least there will be less LTs and Roster Slots...
