Marvel is rich with its own characters like Sasquatch, Shaman, Hercules, Thena, Arabian Knight. Heck, even Armadillo would be preferable right now.
My point is that I…and I’m sure A LOT of other fans who pay good money in this game want to see you use Marvel’s characters instead of the **** you developers are putting out there.
If this keeps up, you can delete my user profile in the game because I’ll permanently quit. My money is too valuable to waste on garbage like this. Start being serious or you’ll find a lot more people getting outraged and possibly leaving.
Having read this a few times I think this forumite is unhappy.
I just want to add that this isn't an OC or some original character PQ made just for the sake of a new Spider themed character. This is an actual character who has had an ongoing comic series going on for a few weeks now.
My thoughts are simply that everyone is thinking too much into the characters that get added. Something like Spider-Rex isn't all that weird when you remember this is the game that added Big Wheel.
In the end, if the devs want to goof off or just have fun adding characters, I see no problem in it. It's easy to be negative and upset with the things they did for the game or didn't do for the game yet. But this new team has done so much good. Having new 3 stars at all was a welcome improvement. Bonus shards got revamped to the point they are quite generous. Revamped Deadpool Daily means everyone gets 45 Heroic Points every single day. A currency that normally would have to be paid for. They fixed the roster problem by adding a cap to how much new player slots cost. Begun reworking and fixing old characters. Yes. I know there are some that got hurt by it, but some got helped greatly by it too.
If you aren't a fan of a character that gets added, then you can simply not use them. In the end this is a game. Everyone is entitled to play how they want to play.
I don’t care, I just want fun and useful skill sets to use. I’m way last caring who they are. 95% of the characters I’d never heard of anyway.

This is a genuine question with no snark intended; if this character was revealed as 3/5* Sasquatch, you'd be ok with it?

I don't care for this character either, but if it weren't for MPQ I wouldn't have learned who Kamala Khan, America Chavez or Riri prior to their MCU debuts. Heck, I showed Jeffrey the Shark to my wife and now she's in love with him.
I learned of Woman without Fear Elektra from this. I learned of Francine Frye who I learned I really like. I find her origins honestly really unique for a super villain. I learned of Blob's more recent design from this game too. Jim Hammond I vaguely knew of the time before he got added and we got to see him. I didn't even know what he looked like before seeing him get added despite being a classic. Legion is another that I feel like everyone overlooks despite his amazing kit. The list goes on.
I get there are characters you want. There is characters everyone want. I even have a 30 character list Wishlist of characters I want. But to get character after character you know would be boring. Mixing in characters you don't know helps make the times you do get characters you do like more momentous. Or helps you learn of new characters in the process. I mean the amount of people who think Spider-Rex is an OC proves the point further. He isn't. And say you don't like a character that gets added, well that doesn't mean someone else doesn't like em. I know there are some who are happy to play as a literal web slinging dinosaur. I am not one of those people but it does not mean they should feel guilty for using them. My brother for example is a massive Annihilus Human Torch fan even after everyone hated on his addition to the game.
That's a great point. It's pretty funny that some of the folks trying to gatekeep comics fandom here, by referencing obscure old characters, don't actually read comics currently and are completely unaware of all the characters introduced in the last few years.
Some kid who recently discovered comic books would probably be thrilled to see Gwenom, but would have no idea who Alpha Flight or the New Mutants are.
I don't like this character personally... But that's more to do with timing, as in it bothers me we're getting several spiders close together when we already have so many. While I don't personally have any desire to play a spider dinosaur, someone else might. My wife, for example, loves Devil Dino and laughs at the animations every time.
While I understand the frustration, I think it's important to recognize different players will like different things. You might not want this character, but someone else will and a few months from now there might be a character that really excites you.
Final thought; thank you for making this post. Reading your comment actually helped calm my own dislike of the character. You helped me realize I might have been unfairly reacting to something I didn't like because there are other characters I'm still waiting to see in the game.
You've reminded me I need to be more patient and less reactive. I truly appreciate that, even if it wasn't your intent.
In retrospect, my other post from the other thread about the same character was too harsh, and didn't really say what I meant to say.
What I should have said is that comics can be goofy trifles for children, and they can also be serious stories for adults. They've always been both things. I feel like the attitude that comic books and comic book stories should ONLY be for adults is a new thing, and something that's not good, and I might have seen that where it didn't necessarily exist.
Comics can be fun or silly AND serious, sometimes both at the same time. We shouldn't dismiss the silly stuff though, because Marvel, especially, has always been a big tent that offers different things for different people. I think MPQ does a pretty good job of mixing things up between new and old, comics and MCU, silly and serious.
I read a few comics with symbiotes, both venom movies and each time the "willing suspension of disbelief" disappear very fast. I heard there were good comics on them out there but from my pov they are just badly written and designed parasites.
I get that in the MCU, spider man is like the last bankable character because they are mass producing **** so devs are probably pressured into these spider pokemons, but I would much prefer getting 10 versions of wolverine rather than this string of goofy symbiotes. (and please no symbiote wolverine)
their only saving grace is they seem not very good so far, so little incentive to play them. I hope latest one also turns out to be super bad
Can't say that I love this new take either. But I look at it this way: I want there to be another 10 years of MPQ. So yes, there will be many more of these gimmicky faux characters. But that also means there's plenty of time for rebalances, completing feeder chains, creating canon characters, and plug in the few missing secondary characters.

I get it OP. Pretty much how I feel every time the new 5(now 3 and 5) is announced and it isn't Red Skull. And yes, Red Skull NEEDS to be a 5, not a 4*.
I like these goofy ideas personally. and this one isn't unique to the game, it just isn't a classic like Omega Red...
