I've been harsh on some of the changes before where we got mobile-ized, so I'll put my money where my mouth is: thank you for keeping the widescreen format for PC users.3
-
Android user here - I've done the update and nothing has changed on mine. Is that right?0

I've update both my steam and my android account to v226 and still have the old main menu. ??0

It will be rolled out via patch once everything is finalised.1

I think it’s very brave of you to keep on with the new UI rollout considering the risks ! 😂1

*edit* there's a new prologue, so that's what the milestones are for...
*edit 2* the inbox is for unclaimed covers, it's the little file folder icon on the right side, upper half of the main screen
There's an inbox now, not sure what it's for. There are new milestones, but some of them are tied to an event title/nodes that I have no idea where they're from... A worldwide web/who are the maggia? Not sure why cap vs thanos is featured for pvp when wolvie's event is the only one running, and I can't remember a pvp where it's cap vs. thanos.
Still find it too busy and cluttered for a phone screen.2 -
So far looks good. Thank you for the surprise prologue campaign. That was fresh!1

Are the borders on the boxes for Story and Versus supposed to pulse? Or is that just me?

This is very different so everyone is going to hate it!
It'll take some getting used to, but people will get used to it.1 -

It was also nice they included that and the new milestones for new players. I would have liked additional levels for collecting covers but then I'm just greedy

Thanks for the very easy prologue, I almost thought about doing it with my 1*s, but left Thano5 to do the work!
Lots of new milestones too, obviously there to teach the game, like making strong matches and changing positions etc. Good for new players and easy bonus for us oldies.
Still think the Story and PVP screens need a way of flipping back between each other.4 -
Some people might want to consider leaving one prologue mission open. I have two I never completed from the original,
and then they come in handy sometimes if you’re building your 1/2 Thor.Like this very event for instance, I don’t want to deal with Mindless Ones setting their tiles every match. Also alliance events.
I’m good with the changes here. Kind of like it actually.2 -
The new layout is bad. It takes more clicks to do some very commons tasks compared to the old screen. For example, going from a PVE sub to the current PVP event used to take three clicks and now it takes four.I’m not sure how I feel about the new character portrait on the top. On one hand it’s wasted space and it’s laughably bad how it looks like Monica is holding a sign for the cover inbox. On the other hand, I kind of love how ridiculous it looks and I really hope that it was intentional just so I can see how they make it work for future characters.5

I find it odd that the main menu looks like arrangeable widget tiles, withlut actually providing the ability to arrange tiles to ones liking.
I totally agree that I‘d like a way to switch from pvp to pve with a single touch.

It's busy... but not unusable. I'll get used to it.first impressions:1. Looks a lot more modern.2. Adds a "quests" button to the bottom row of "hot keys". It's where the alliance button was, so I hit it about a dozen times already by muscle memory when trying to go to my alliance screen. That's just something I'll get used to. No Biggie.3. No way to go from PvE to PvP without backing out... and the back button is still in the upper left... where my thumb cant reach it. (long standing gripe, not specific to this update).4. LOVE the new Campaign additions5. Not a fan of the "Featured Event" or "Featured Offer". I guess if they stop making them pop-up every time I log in, this is a reasonable trade-off.6. "Quest in Progress" seems superfluous to me, especially if it's always just going to be the dailies.7. Not sure the point of the "New Character" at the top ... which takes up a ton of screen real estate, but isn't clickable and doesn't provide any actual information... Is that MY newest character? Is it the most recently released character?8. I like that you moved the Shield resupply and VIP to the bottom. They are rarely clicked (with supply being a pop-up and VIP being once a month).9. I like the "red dot" to signify that something underneath is new (in my case, the Versus button had the dot to indicate there was a new event in there)10. Not sure if it was intentional or not, but in the "New Character" spot at the top, Monica looks like she is holding a manila folder in the upper-right that is a short-cut to the Roster screen. Probably a coincidence with her character art and the placement, but still kinda cool/funny.11. Timers are inconsistent. Some show "Time Left" in the button, some as headers to the section12. Same with Titles. Some are in the buttons. Some are labels above the buttons. Makes it look a bit disorganized.Overall, I think I'll like this after the initial "New thing is shocking my old muscle memory" wears off.7

I get the sense that this is supposed to be a "hub screen" with as much of the game accessible in one place as possible, with everything siloed into particular areas of the game. So I would suggest having the bottom row of buttons consist of the most common areas to go to (Story, Versus, Recruit and Roster from the current row), plus anything you might want to get to urgently at certain times (Alliance), moving Supports to be accessible from the Roster screen and leaving Quests on the Home Screen (perhaps with a checkmark on the Back button, or a popup, indicating completed quests). That's if you don't add some other way to easily toggle between Story and Versus, but that's just a side effect of this change making them feel less like the center of the game.
To me, the tiny folder suggests an "inbox" to me, as in messages and communication from the devs, especially next to the new-character thing, not the vine. Maybe if it had some cover icons (or perhaps a stack of them) and a clock, indicating what's in there and that they won't be in there forever? Or perhaps a file drawer, resembling a longbox, to further the "cover" imagery/metaphor?2 -
It is a pretty big loss to the navigation not to be able to “tab” between PVE and PVP without backing out of either. The rest is ignorable, but this change is going to be an active annoyance for awhile.0

Almost claimed my 500 5* shards by mistake from the quest in progress tab in the middle of the screen. Better be careful.
