And what about taking the effort to do it in game, like thousands of players have been doing it?
Buying 5* characters in marketplace would make for a total whales game.
And comics can be read in Marvel insider, if you live in US.

Good point. The only way MPQ would be able to have digital comics available as NFTs is to have MPQ-specific comics that only relate to the game and it's story lines. By the way, we already have that. They're called PvEs. I suspect that if this were something that devs wanted to do and had permission, all they would do is take what they already have from PvE and package it. Don't get me wrong, some of the story lines are nice, but I can't see myself purchasing or trading for a comic that I can check out for free when playing PvE. I don't even read the stories most of the time.

I think the closest we have come to NFT's in this game are the costumes. Some of them cost money, they're somewhat nice to look at, but actually don't have any value beyond that.

Yes I'll dump MPQ by selling 4 4* champs who are on average lvl 275, 272, 271, 270 and 270. Lmao.

My proposition is that 4* character can be given that readable comic status and/or NFT status once it reaches level 370. I can't comment on 5* characters as I have maxed any characters yet.

In all fairness I wouldn't mind buying a 5* character if there is a marketplace.
You're fighting a losing battle here and you're not going to make any progress.

If you're serious about this you need to contact D3 or Demiurge directly.  Try their websites or put in an in-game ticket.  This is not the right place to do what you're trying to do.

Imagine being able to sell your covers/characters to other players.

Or, imagine a limited edition 'Iron Man' cover/character where there are only 1000 versions.

It would take MPQ to the next level.

    I'm waiting D3Go!

I imagine a world where you CAN'T sell your account to other players.

Oh wait, TOS says that can't be done, so I'm sure it never ever is.

NFTs are wildly embarrassing. I've been with MPQ since the start, and in the unlikely event that the game incorporated them I'd abandon it out of sheer repulsion.

The only thing I can think of in favor of anything that resembles a NFT is some type of fan appreciation thing if the game fizzles out and comes to an end years down the road. Providing players with some type of digital artwork of characters from their roster could be a nice parting gift. Often games come to an end causing players to lose everything they've worked hard to collect. These digital copies could potentially be NFTs, but probably don't have to be.

Exactly. The pics could be looked at, and shown off as much as you like. The point of the NFT is to provide value to the thing by preventing copying and providing the opportunity to sell it. Unless I'm overlooking something, I don't see it working well in this case.

As I think about it, there is potential for the provision of MPQ NFTs, but it would likely be completely separate from the game. Of course, this means that the whole argument is moot. If it's not connected to the game, then it doesn't matter.

Come to think about it, Demiurge is set to expand its headcount by 80-100 a year (?) for the next 5 years. They might go into NFT, but probably not for MPQ. It'll probably be for their own creations since the ip will belong to them.

What am I trying to do?

I work as a nurse full time and I've got omnicron chasing patients towards me and clinical staff out of the door as they have to isolate after becoming positive. If I have invested time and money in a game, i expect some sort of an achievement.

For eg. If I earn an achievement  on an xbox game, I can use MS rewards and redeem a daily 50 points. Once I've achieved 6000 points I can redeem £5 which i can use towards any content on xbox.

Me asking for a comic book NFT shouldn't be classed as some sort of a crime. That NFT is my achievement  of my time and money well spent into a game

This thread had a lot of eyes on it, and I stumbled across this feature length exploration of what NFTs are all about that might prove illuminating to anyone who is on the fence about how or if they want to engage with these emperor's new clothes:
