The Simulator (PvE) - (May 30 - June4)

  • Looking at the odds, this Simulator token seems to be worse than the regular Heroic one...
  • I'm currently on 13k after doing all the missions(some twice) and essentials 3 times. There are 4 more refreshes left in these subs? so if I can score the same each time that would take me to 65k. Depends how many more subs there are after that and how hard the scaling hits and also how much points the next set of subs offer. 150k seems doubtful though.
  • I think this is the first time since i started that the prize for pvp was not a recently released character

Steve rogers, human torch, falcon, daken, sentry

yeah thats all i have seen, its hard to get excited for 5 days of grinding for some BP covers :-\

You and I joined within a few weeks of each other it seems, and your BP is at 1/1/1. I'd think you want a chance at 3 covers for it. They haven't really been given out all that much in the last couple months. Mine is cover capped at 2/2/1 and I'm looking forward to hopefully getting him up to 3/3/2. I usually like simulator so it should hopefully be fun.

Would it be safe to assume this one uses 8 hour cycles, I played some nodes this afternoon, now all of mine are back up to the 500- 1000 point range.

I did grind everything to 100 and relished five minutes of being in first place.
  • my prod son nodes ended up at 395, my entry nodes here are 69/71. haven't joined in yet though.

Rubberbanding seems to be back in effect as well. But maybe like Prodical Son, rubberbanding will only be in the first set of subs.

But I don't know. I really wish they would post these tinykitty things for each event since the rules are ever changing!!!
  • The rubberband is actually quite weak. It looks big because the numbers in this round is huge. I got to within 1000 point of the bracket leader after doing all the essentials three times + everything else once, but at that point, you don't have any really valuable high point node left, and that 1000 point is actually a lot to overcome and will probably use up the second pass of the nodes that are worth good points that aren't the essentials, and at that point you better hope the bracket leader has nothing left to do either if this is the event end.
  • Okay. I'm playing through the Simulator nodes now to have them all unlocked and start the refreshing? Should I wait on the big prize nodes until the Points I'd get from them are higher, or just do them now?

And what's the strategy to use for these? Play them once, then every 12 or so hours, do each of them twice? Grind them down to 1? And set myself up so the final refresh would be done around an hour or so before the round is over?

Part one of Strategy: After a complete **** game in the FIRST NODE in Hard Mode, I absolutely refuse to set foot in it again.

EDIT: Thought maybe I was being hasty and tried one of the Sentry required node. Nope, Hard Mode is nothing but the enemy getting ridiculous cascades the entire time. But I'm actually having some luck with those nodes at the moment. Might just stick with the non-All BW two.
  • Rubber banding was pretty strong for me, I started about an hour ago, essentials in hard mode were 1900 and 1000 in normal. Did 1 clear on everything and sat in 1st in both normal and hard for a couple mins. My levels are all 50-90 and very manageable, was around 150-200 in prod sun.

Mkai - it's not that rubberbanding is extremely strong - it's that it kicks in kinda early but does not extend it's effect over some range - what I mean is that it was close to full effect when I was 10.000 points behind and when I was 20.000 points behind, the point gain of nodes was negligible.
This means that you can catch up, but not if you want to do only 1 clear and the leader is doing clears every refresh icon_e_wink.gif
  • I find it unusual that classic magneto and punisher are not highlighted in the drop rate table in the simulator token, since their drop rates in the 1 pack are also increased to 1.3%. But then again, they're back to 0.7% in the 10 and 42 packs. Of course, a difference of 0.6% doesn't matter anyway so yeah... icon_rolleyes.gif
  • The node with three Black Widows is somewhat creepy.
  • So my starting nodes were 175 and 186. That's what I get for being in a tough bracket in Prodigal Sun, and needing 56k to finish top 20. A little frustrating though, that the 'easy' nodes were capped at 55 there - and they've jumped up 120 levels here.

Considering I have a single 141, this is gonna be rough. Hard mode nodes start out at ~230.

Does anyone know if taking a day or two off will actually drop your personal scaling, even slightly? Would really love to manage top 75 and finish my BP.

Send an email to CS or PM IceIX. I got close to 60K for Prodigal Sun for a Top 10 finish but my teams were always wiped out or very low on health upon winning. My starting nodes for easy and hard for SImulator is 64 and 65 respectively. My alliance mate who usually don't grind in PVE but did so in PS is in the same situation as you are in now.

The rubber banding is enough for me just to lightly do the last two refreshes only. Just need the alliance cover for BP so thats top 250 so no one going to see me top 10 this event probably not even break top 50 for the extra 50HP. Just not going to let my alliance do all the work. It will be interesting to see where I land. (Going for about 20 missions total each sub)
  • First subs end in 36hrs. That leaves us with 3days for the next nodes.

    So...

    Either we're getting 1 3day long sub or 2x 18hrs subs or I dunno...

The mission with no rubber banding for Normal are as follows

    Sim 1 - 50
    Sim 2 - 70
    Sim 3 - 100
    Sim 4 - 120
    Sim 5 - 50
    Sim 6 - 70
    Sim 7 - 100
    Sim 8 - 170
    Sim 9 - 170
    Sim 10 - 150

For a total of 1050 or 3150 maximum clear.

For the Hard Mode they all double.

The new simulator seems to have tweaked the points from the previous runnings. The point award for node 10 is now equal to 8 and 9. (Which always bugged my little OCD voice. Why is 9>10? Argh!)
  • Surprised no one has complained yet about Simulation 7 yet. Perhaps the levels aren't high enough yet on this one.

Beware the new Doombot Coordinator. Although it is only a 1* because it is a grunt, the opponent an equivalent of a "Gold" Doctor Doom, outside of its low health pool.

It can cast Summon Demons at the same potency as Doom, but at only 7 AP instead of Doom's 12 AP. Also, it has an altered Blue power to suit the fight on the node. For 6 Blue AP, Narcissism converts blue tiles on the board into yellow and not black, to feed Modern Thor. Plus, of course as a grunt, it can generate its own AP to fuel these abilities a 2 Blue + Black per round. Fortunately, both abilities requires 4 turn CD to activate as a grunt.

Still, avoid being caught off guard on this one.
  • So I'm #10 or so in both brackets, but my main bracket is #40+..

Anyone else in similar situation? Or just my luck being in a bad main bracket? icon_e_sad.gif
