It was mostly because he kept draining my black AP. A bunch of those fights would have been over way faster without him along.
Having apocalypse champed is posible a strategical swicht of powers.
Yeah, I guess I just run him so often with BRB that I lean on his black pretty heavily. I run him at 3/5/5 anyhow, because the difference in damage from 3 to 5 black isn't that big.

When does the store usually go up? Shouldn't it have happened already? Or is it later?

[Edit] I just reread the announcement. I'm guessing 2PM EST?

Typically the CP stores open at 12 PM EDT.

If Apocalypse boosts his black repeater damage, that sounds like fun. Still has some ramp up time and can suck if the board is starved of black or other team is chasing that color. Still have to have gotten the 7 yellow as well for Apoc. Could try Domino to feed black I guess, or C&D to feed black and yellow. Of course either of those two could be killed pretty quickly and leave a big hole in that strategy.

I champed OMD and have used him in SIM against BRB Kitty teams.  This is when his red shines flipping 4 enemy protect tiles into a ton of strike tiles.  I added Polaris and Aopoc and ran through a variety of BRB/Kitty teams.

The problem with OMD is his black should trigger at 3 AP not 6.  His green is also not great.  I might try him against Ultron goons and Mindless ones but he feels like a specialist to me.

Would love to get some fresh partner ideas with this character.

Outside of obvious (Apoc, Polaris, Carnage, blah blah blah), even boosted the struggle is real with him. Too bad.

Previously, I used him with Shuri and Domino to spam and fortify his repeater tiles. Domino helps to gain black ap more quickly, which gets converted to red ap that Shuri can use to lower friendly power ap cost by 3 and fortify his repeater tiles. Domino will make use of green ap to increase chances of black cascades, and red ap will be shared between OMD and Shuri. I think you won't have a problem putting out 8 repeater tiles. If you want to have fun, this could be one of them. If you are looking for speed and efficiency, then this might not be the team.

Solid. So I swapped Shuri for Apocalypse for challenge nodes. Wow.

Spamming the repeater while feeding Apocalypse’ Red was quite effective. Domino and OMD are pretty great together. Thank you and will try Shuri as that is a fantastic cycle.

Is there a consensus to his best cover distribution?  Many thanks!

Unfortunately, green is grabage. Even the true heal is better left at 3 covers to enable black and red to remain peak. And argument is often made to leave 3 on red to allow better red powers to flourish (i.e.- apocalypse) and give Daken that little, although weak, extra heal.

The question was about optimal builds. So if you are trying to advocate “sucking the board dry”, You get the same effect of “destroying 3 green” at 3 covers or 5.

And that’s after you save up 9 AP to cast it. It offers worse healing the others in the game and my L459 does just shy of 10k. By all means, enjoy that hot garbage.

With so many threads going on right now about immortal hulk, I hardly have to explain this. 5/5/3 is, in my opinion, the better build for now and most people who also have him champed would agree.

If you want objective support for that theory, just take a waltz through several pvp events and climb. The market is not flooded with Samurai Dakens trouncing iHulks; the forums are not spouting threads of “iHulk Solved!” You are just putting a target on your back for those that are climbing.

So I have to at least give you a half apology. I will stand by my statement, but I think I was overly rude about it and do believe your opinion on OMD warrants merit, possibly a bit more. For that, @Bad, I apologize.

For the TLDR version, I believe his black is by far his best skill. His Red counters BRB/Kitty well on an average board and his Green, Hulkoye on an average board.
This is after I used OMD and BRB in the Sharp Dressed event featuring 3* Wolvie. He is a great partner as I could cast his green and follow with OMD’s Red. Also, whether BRB/Kitty or Hulkoye, it takes a little rolling to get going, but BRB’s protects help mitigate the damage. It is important to focus on blue matches to get BRB going. He’s your opener, and Daken is your finisher.

Sorry for being rude, @Bad. But I’ll admit he is decent. He is still ruined by his overall numbers and the amount of oversight needed to operate him in a speedy fashion. Cheers
