Team Spirit - 6 AP / PASSIVE

As long as they stick together, nothing can keep the Runaways down. Karolina Dean builds a barrier of light to protect her team. Creates 2 strength 10 Protect tiles. For every Runaway on the team, Karolina creates 1 additional Protect tile.

PASSIVE: Whenever an ally is healed, Karolina improves the healing by 8%.

• Level 2: Create 2 strength 15 Protect tiles. Increase healing by 12%. (Strength 29 Protect tiles, 12% healing)
• Level 3: Create 2 strength 18 Protect tiles. Increase healing by 15%. (Strength 36 Protect tiles, 15% healing)
• Level 4: Create 3 strength 20 Protect tiles. Increase healing by 22%. (Strength 40 Protect tiles, 22% healing)
• Level 5: Create 3 strength 25 Protect tiles and 2 additional tiles for each Runaway. Increase healing by 35%. (Strength 51 Protect tiles, 35% healing)

Rising Sun / Sunset Strip - 6 AP

Rising Sun - Karolina soars upwards, disengaging from the fight until the time is right. Karolina places a 3 turn Fortified Countdown tile on the board that creates 1 strength 5 Protect tile each turn and generates 1 Blue AP when it goes off. While this tile is on the board, Karolina is Airborne and the ability becomes Sunset Strip.

Sunset Strip - (PASSIVE) as the sun falls, Karolina descends and harnesses her energy for a tactical blow. If there are 5 or more friendly Protect tiles on the board at the start of her turn, Karolina removes her Rising Sun Countdown tile and converts 3 Protect tiles to Strike tiles. When this Countdown tile is no longer on the board, this ability becomes Rising Sun.

• Level 2: Creates strength 10 Protect tiles and generates 2 Blue AP. (Strength 18 Protect tiles)
• Level 3: Creates strength 23 Protect tiles. (Strength 41 Protect tiles)
• Level 4: Creates strength 41 Protect tiles and generates 4 Blue AP. (Strength 74 Protect tiles)
• Level 5: Creates strength 82 Protect tiles and generates 5 Blue AP. (Strength 148 Protect tiles)

Solar Flare - 8 AP

Karolina draws on her solar power to generate an explosion of light. Karolina deals 324 damage to the enemy team. If there are 2 or more friendly Special tiles on the board, heal allies for a burst of 46 health per tile (Max 5 Tiles).

• Level 2: Deal 454 damage and heal allies for 64 damage. (883 damage, 126 health per tile)
• Level 3: Deal 573 damage and heal allies for 83 damage. (1117 damage, 162 health per tile)
• Level 4: Deal 833 damage and heal allies for 120 damage. (1622 damage, 234 health per tile)

Powers don't sound like him but I'm going to guess Legion.

Edit: This guy with Bl4ck Panther is going to be fun. Shame about the overlap though.

So are we supposed to player this character with BRB? 

Collect 6 yellow to make 2-5 protect tiles, then, when you have 5+ protects, use 6 blue to go airborne and convert?

Plus a cheap aoe/burst heal.  It's not a bad kit, but i don't see it being anywhere near the meta.  It will take much much too long.

Demi keeps trying to make protect tiles a thing without seeming to realize that protect tiles are useless for entirely extrinsic reasons (e.g. protect tiles make matches longer, but pve and PvP scoring both heavily favor short matches).

I tried googling to see about any healers that can fly and protect people, and the three names that kept popping up were either Archangel, of which we have 2, doctor strange, of which we have 2, and Wiccan, who already has a 4* (in the same colours too). I think all of those are unlikely

Another name that did come up however, is Mr Negative, who can heal, and his powers can be used for healing and good, but then instantly flip and be used destructively (protects into strikes). He is a villain though, and I’m pretty sure he can’t fly anyway, but I would love it if he made it into the game at some point.

EDIT: it could be someone like Beast? The powers seem like improved versions of the 3* version, and in the same colours too. He’s acrobatic, which is as airborne as black cat is, is the team doctor, and has a violent side too. That’s my guess

EDIT 2: (Hank) McCoys is also a brand of crisp/chips too (and definitely has a cheese and onion flavour).

Runaways Final season starts today, and we've gotten more than enough X-Men recently to keep us occupied for a while. Can't think of any other Team Types that would be relevant at the moment.

That brings me to your comment on flying and protecting people, which from the Runaways lineup would lead me to guess Karolina Dean. This power sets seems like it would work in an interesting way with Nico's, and Karolina's feelings for Nico are anything but a secret. 

That said though, I can't make it align with the "Cheese & Onions" clue for the life of me.

I very much like the idea of having all of your team airborne at once: 5Marv/Vulture/???? all sorts of green AP ramp.

maybe because I came up with 2* Bullseye as my first playable char that I have a spot in my heart for making Protects "work". yay new options!

Looked up the lyrics to the "Cheese & Onions" song.

Last 3 lines don't matter. It's the first "Man and Machine" that got me thinking. Could this character be a cyborg? Protect and strike tiles and also has team affiliation factoring into his powers.

Although I can’t really think of what karolinas powers did other than let her fly and turn into rainbows. Also, I would be extremely disappointed if any clue for her didn’t reference Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds/the Beatles. It would be too much of a missed opportunity.
