Weird and easy bracket. Just shielded at 623 points, third at rank. No one hit me while I was climbing, after shielding couple of retaliations, but no points lost. Dont need that xwolvie so bad, so I didnt risk losing points to attackers, as I was becoming the juiciest target... Now im checking all the time, so I wouldnt drop off from top five. Just had become second, instead of third, ...somebody must have lost some points. Only two shielded in top ten, me and the first. And last time I was playing pvp, my shielded score of just about 800points got me somewhere in top 50.
This time it is the most enjoyable pvp ever!

Everyone is going to credit the lower scores in this PVP to the Spidey nerf, but I think it's far more likely due to the change in playing styles by members of the top alliances. None of us are pushing for 1200+ just for the sake of showing that we can. That burns too many HP to shield-hop when you drop one or two shields and settle for a top-10 placement around 1100. Without those high scores, there are no 25-point or higher targets for everyone else to ride to higher scores. They also take away some of the attractive 30-45 point targets for players in the 700s, who may be more likely to target players around 1000 instead.

And I doubt many of us who were consistently scoring 1300-1500 points were using Spidey that much.

Side note....I feel there is a lot more hp on enemy teams this time. Are there just a lot of maxed psy out there that we never see because she isn't worth putting on a 3 man team usually?

I raised Psylocke to level 100 for this. I think she's one of those character who isn't a first pick but doesn't hurt to raise to level 141 (or at least highish levels). She's not a powerhouse by any means, but she's decent and D3 seems to love her as a recurring member of a limited roster or boosted hero. Now, the next event is IM40, and I'm really weary about raising his levels but I don't want to have a giant target on my back too.

I've done this as well: it seems like she will get featured a ton being an avenger and all. After playing with her this tournament though, I can't say that I'll ever use her in a normal team: her red doesn't pack enough punch so she's basically a 1 ability hero, which is meh.

I'd love to see some targets worth thirty or more. I've been burning nearly 100 ISO after every fight to find someone worth more than 20 points. Everyone I see is less than 100 points ahead but I keep getting nailed by people 3-400 points less than me.

To the ppl who said that after s1 the competion for the 1º place would slow and it would be easier to be on top 10 are completly wrong... on my bracket to be on top 10 u need atleast 1000 points and 1º place has 1200 points... There goes the burn theory and that ppl would stop playing for a while.

I don't think it burns that theory. I think people discovered that 1000 is not that hard to reach during season one. What we're not seeing now is a bunch of people shield-hopping beyond 1100 to reach the 1300 4* they don't need and then even higher, just for the sake of getting more points. A few may be hitting 1200 to get the 1000 ISO reward, but it's a much smaller number than before. In my alliance, we would typically have four to five people at 1300 and 12-15 over 1100. Currently, we have five at 1100 and nine at 1000. People are playing less and not as arduously, realizing we can get 90% of the rewards for about 60% of the effort.

If it wasnt for the defense wins (2) i got in the last hour i would be out of the top ten.. Due to those 2 wins im sitting at 1036 in 6th place the 10th guy has 1012 points... This is so absurd. Thinking that 4 months ago 800 points were enough for top 10.

I was, and pretty sure I was the exception to the rule. Even by the time S1 started, only a handful of high levels were still using Spidey. By the time I would crest 1100 in a PvP, Spidey was pretty much gone.

Similar to reckless, I'd say it's pure burnout, lousy rewards, and general veteran player anger at D3.

It's going to be months before Fury shows up as a top prize and those Heroic 10-packs reward us with nothing but 2500 ISO and a nervous twitch. I will go for top 10 if I need the covers; otherwise I am tagging out at 1000 from now on.

How come being in 5DV is a more casual experience?
I had internet issues right at the end of the tourney and finished my second boosted match 40 seconds too late for top 10 - but meh, until they nerf Magneto, I am not going to run Clawkid ever. I am gonna revel in the beauty that is Magneto for as long as I can even if he sucks at defense Going to watch X-Men: DOFP tomorrow wheee!
Edit: glad you held on to top 10, so my original plan of letting others fight for purple Daken was kinda fulfilled anyway.

In the same bracket...I had to do a triple shield to be safe in the end. I was at 1005 and just couldn't take the pressure of the rest of the top 10 being one fight away from jumping me, so had to break earlier. Definitely think it was worth it...
