  • Just done my first pass of the new subs to push my lead back out to 1400 points. There sure does not seem to be much community scaling since the starting nodes were the same value as I opened them up at 9 hours ago.

Well I'm only 9000 points behind EvilSunGoku now so that's an improvement....

To make up for it I made out like a bandit on tokens today: IW, Spidey and GSBW from five of them (including the heavy metal one I just won).
  • Honestly, I'm really starting to wonder what the *point* of PvE is. So, I can spend 2-4 hours for 2-3 three-star covers in a PvP event - or I can spend 2-3 hours per day, for over a week, for a chance to get the first available covers on a new character....who will then be offered as a reward in the next PvP?

Why am I doing this again?

On an actual serious note for once...What is the general consensus on Sentry? He seems to already be ridiculously overpowered and in line for a nerf before we even have him.

World Rupture's interaction with strike tile is just downright broken. He's otherwise about on par with lazy Thor, which is pretty darn broken too but, we do have lazy Thor so there's obviously a precedent for that.

I think he is 10x more OP than LT. Whether red or green, the other team is wiped out in one move.

Yet I am 4k behind our leader. That dude is grinding every refresh down to 1 and maybe more.

Wait, the red does individual strike tiles too?

I haven't worked out the math but I think the red can do around 4K damage to the whole team if you got all the red tiles up. I don't think it benefits multiple times from strike tile, but it's powerful enough that it doesn't matter.

Because PvE events tend to have better covers? Until toward the end of season 1 I believe lazy Thor's covers only showed up once in PvP, but showed up 3 times in PvE (the event he's introduced, plus 2 more on heroic Jugg). If you look at PvE events, they generally have much better selection for reward for placement, precisely because otherwise it'd be pretty dumb to spend 9 days for the same thing. About the only redundant hero offered in PvE was Punisher, but he's still a very solid hero and I sure don't recall a PvE event where you've to grind 9 days to get Loki.

Yeah, that's my rough estimate for 9 red on the board. Toss in a 300+ strike tile and its game over for most teams by turn 4 or 5. In pvp, anyone starting with boosts can prob wipe out a team in 30 seconds.

The devs heard our complaints about the original Ragnarok - "He's soooo cheap but it takes, like, 60 seconds to spamwich my opponent to death" and "He only has two powers" and "His hair has soooo many split ends" - and they fixed ALL of them.

But is his lead "over 9000!!!", or just really close to it. ;-p

So the rags nerf was just rubberbanding taking effect? icon_eek.gif

Untrue, my lazy thor was 2/2/4 within the first couple weeks. (I missed red and yellow in the PvE, and I either bought or opened a green cover, can't remember which.)

There's usually two PvPs after the initial PvE that feature a new char as a reward.

Mind you, my lack of enthusiasm for Sentry is probably a factor here.

According to the 3* history thread we have:

    Hulk Event 3/5: Fat Thor
Heroic Juggs 3/15: Fat Thor (2 rounds)
    Hollowpoint Kiss 4/23: Fat Thor
    Fatal attraction 5/16: Fathor

And given Heroic Jugg's performance is closely tied to the presence of Thor (he's the required character for essential nodes and he's boosted 90 levels), PvE clearly dominates your ability to have a Thor maxed out without spending additional HP, unless you were extremely lucky on your token pulls.

Yeah, I didn't start back up until halfway through the first run of heroic juggs, so I missed my chance at that one, and because I was also missing the other recent characters, I was only able to get 1 cover from the 2nd run.

Even with some lucky pulls, I was only really able to get him semi-usable after this last set from the laken tournament

Points for starting nodes seem to be double than the last subs, so I'm guessing rubberbanding will be stronger.
Crept up to 26 in my main, still wayyyyy off the leader, but only 500 or so behind top 20.
So I should land comfortably in the two cover zone, which is nice.

Point totals for the next 2 Subs are:-

    Washington DC 73,73,128,91,155,155
    Hells Kitchen: 137,182,182,182,228,274

"Easy" sub has increased from 539 to 675 or about 25 %
"Hard" sub has increased from 949 to 1185 or also about 25%
  • So just to follow up if anyone "could" grind the nodes to 1 each refresh on Hell's Kitchen they would get 14220 points.
  • Got 42K points now, so should be hitting 45K next refresh.

If there is a last minute node based off the main bracket, it'd actually be pretty easy to hit 45K this time. If not, I'd imagine you've to be at about 40K before this bracket end to have reach it safely.

I am currently at just under 38K and will do this refresh in about 3 hours time. The score I be at then depends on my chaser's since I just trying to hang about 1500 points out in front of the pack but should make 45K by the end of these subs.

I plan to fall back slowly then into the top 20 as I do not need yet another green X-force. I got two from tokens yesterday and they were both converted into ISO.
