Devils advocate: what if they have NO IDEA what's causing it, can't post in game, and don't want to simply post "no idea what's going on guys, sorry"? I admit, there should be some acknowledgement, but they are typically pretty good with communication...after the fact. Keep in mind these are software developers not marketers.

I don't mean for this to come off as snarky, but from a customer service management perspective, it doesn't matter what they do or don't want to appear like.

There were times I had disasters at work that were my responsibility. I stayed quiet, hoping things would resolve themselves, and I could keep my reputation. When they didn't fix themselves, my behavior caused my company to have a worse reputation, and personally, I got written up and had letters placed in my personnel file.

When I was up-front to my customers, they would be displeased, but they at least trusted I was aware of the problem and how it was impacting them. That went a long way to mending our relationships, and my manager stood behind me.

The devs may not be PR, but d3 should have some marketing/pr on-hand to craft a statement. If they don't, then that's management's responsibility. Or abdication. Whatever.
  • Back down... and some Daken tournament just started!

You beat me to it...It's nice to have a PVP we worked a week to get the covers for, but not have the covers to play in that PVP.
  • It seems like people are pretty upset about this. I'm not sure why it's a free game just play and enjoy, simple as that. If you put mega amounts of time and money into it that your fault don't complain about the devs of this awesome game.

  • I just got a notification in game that rewards are pending and there will also be delays in handing out the heavy metal awards.

Yeah...I didn't notice downtime, but notice the new Dawn event, even though most people haven't even gotten their rewards. Damn odd.

Also looks like Season 1 has been extended by a few days.

I'm not allowed to give downvotes.

I think it's clear why people are upset. I understand the point you're trying to make: 'this is just a game'. You're right, but you miss the point that it's a product that some of us have put some amount of money in. I might not have spent hundreds of dollars, but I've supported the game with some small purchases. If it's not working the way we expect (or at all), that's upsetting. The complete disregard of our inquiries is what has put people on edge.

Well while I appreciate the acknowledgement. I will not hide the fact that it is disappointing that it took three days to let the user base even know you were working on it. I do realize that you are a company that can not instantly respond to issues in seconds, and there will always be impatient players, however three days without details of any kind is not representative of a company of your size/financial stature. Seeing as how this is one of the worst hang ups in the history of this game, and seeing how many have spent money. I would think it would be advantageous to give out some form of apologetic reward in light of this incident. If only to let players know there is something worth waiting for during this hiatus. There are many players (majority of them) that do not come on to this website, if a sign of gratitude is not given to the players in game, most will assume it is a sign that..
A.) The game is becoming more buggy..aka: developers slowly detaching/less involved in project.
B.) There will be larger or more priminent bugs possibly with exchange of financial transactions in the future. (No acknowledgement from developers in game will confuse those who are never on these forums into thinking they are doing nothing.)... or
C.) Free thinking...lol, most people who do not hear directly from the game itself begin to form there own ideas of what's happening, which as I'm sure your aware of is not only unflattering, but not representative of a business that deals with customers and there money. (People say all kinds of horrible things when they are left in the dark.) While it may seem comical, it should not be taken lightly.. keep in mind the user's here are quick to judge and form there own opinions and word off mouth can spread VERY QUICKLY.
  • While I agree with you... the event ended 36 hours ago. Not three days.

Just opened the game for poos and giggs. There is now an in game message about all of the problems.

It's a little note, but it helps. And it's about damn time.
  • If the server is up, why can't i access anything?

I gotta say this. People are acting like little kids. We want yall to acknowledge something is wrong, whaaa. They say ok we are working on it a few days later (they were probably working on it before hand) and everyojes like yall could have told us sooner, whaa. They are working on it. Let us be thankful for that. I agree it sucks but what good is whining gonna do? As for the maintenance how else do you expect them to fix it? Enjoy something else for a few. This gave me enough time to finish the last level of cod ghost on vetran. Go outside, do something. One tournament will not kill you. Everyone in your group knows its down. The players that were gonna be top 10 still will be. Nothings gonna change. So just chill.
  • Hmm.. 3 wins in the Iron Man pvp and no points awarded. Grrr..
  • Now given 12 points for no clear reason when I should have had far more

Honestly, first the entire event gets screwed point wise, top 10 both events and grind every node to 1 shouldn't be top 75, second, they don't even give out the awards for more then 24, soon to be 36, hours, and finally, they just decide to not even post apologizing to their player base for the delays, or even for the blatant disregard concerning, what I'm sure is, numerous posts all targeted towards the missing awards and silent treatment.

Out of interest, did you grind the nodes in main one time or 3 times like the others?

3 times on all of them. First place had a lvl 40 for his max character.

That is really strange. What were your scores? 3 full clears on all nodes would serve 12k points even with zero rubberband. More if you started from behind coming out of some dimmed subs. Are you sure you played 9x5x3=135 games in the last 30 hours? Properly waiting the full point refreshes on each node?

It's worse than that. All day yesterday and most of this morning Heavy Metal was bugged for me. I had started playing yesterday and after a few matches had over 100 pts but did not recieve the 100 pt reward. Then I noticed my points dropped to 24. No notifications that I was attacked. I played a couple of matches but the points were not credited. Basically, I was in last place this morning and lost a good 12-16 hrs of play.

Oh and extending the season was a bad idea.
  • I'm really confused as to how we can have a new event when we haven't got the rewards from the last one...and they've just told us we probably won't get them from the current one! ****! How does that work then? We have no hp/shields (that were owed) but obviously we can just crack on with the new event (some of us have and haven't been awarded covers for).

Oh and by the way that season you've been working towards for 28 days we've extended that too...without telling you! But, obviously it all makes sense now that you have f-all to help you push for those top place finishes! Talk about perfect time for a scheduled melt-down

Seriously...new daken event is a kick in the teeth
  • Extending Season 1 is a bad idea, but given the amount of server instability, problems with the rewards systems, etc., over the past couple days, I'd kinda prefer not to see the huge semi that is Season 1 crash into the existing multi-car pileup. Let's get the road clear first.

Fixing everything perfectly right now is of course the best solution, but I think it's not on the table as an option.
  • Playing Heavy Metal during all of this has been kind of fun. It worked for me when they said servers would be down, then it stopped updating my points, then it added them back (seemingly) because I jumped from 600 to 800, then it ignored all the points I earned after that, and now, finally, I can't connect to server. I might have 900 points by now, or 500 if I'm getting attacked or if there's a backlog of attacks against me that need to be added up. It's like Schrodinger's cat in game form.
