Even after doing a clear of all nodes (just one each), I am in 50th place. Still 4k back, regardless of whatever points I just got. Lovely.

I had clawed my way up to 60th after winning my tower sub, but I am not making up much ground with the new nodes, thanks to **** values. Only hope is that the people between me and 30 can't handle the scaling.

yeah, I know what you mean. From the time I posted that to now, I'm in 53rd. So, seems like I'll need to do two passes at most of the nodes, then just wait. But, wait too long, you may never catch up. I'm just trying to stay close to top 30.
  • Time for Some Answers: those guys are at level 167. Ares with 10,000 hit points? I would have to be incredibly lucky to win. I think I'll leave them be.

So how does one figure out the base node value? I'm in #4, about 1k behind #1 in my bracket, so theoretically I shouldn't be seeing much if any rubber banding, correct?

Be so close to the Leader you have no rubber banding icon_eek.gif Like father like son has base value 200

Like father like son? I don't see... oh ****, missed one icon_e_biggrin.gif

I missed that one at first too, it's in the middle of the map not connected to anything, I thought it was an old one.

Ok, got every node down to 200 points or less. Not sure if I should try to grind more or not.

29,3k points and 9th in main bracket.
Now I play the waiting game and see if I'll still be at the top 30 tomorrow morning after everyone has done one refresh.

But apparently the fact that rubberbanding takes into account the global leader and the top of my bracket apparently was quite behind the global leader seems to work in my favor so far.

I'm in almost the exact position as you. 29.6k and 7th, everything is 200 or less (did all the nodes twice except the really low point ones. I'm sure people will overtake me/us but if they mess up their refreshes it'll be easy to get right back. Don't think I'll do any more now as scaling could be really bad by the end. My Lazy Daken mission is only at 114 atm, and wasn't too hard to beat twice, but I would prefer it not get up to 170+ as that might be tough since I don't have any of the 3* close to high levels.

Yeah, I think I'll leave this be and call it a day. My Lazy Daken node is at 94, so still manageable but my Patch is only softcapped at 77, so I don't know for how long he'll make do.

Mohawken in the final battle is a nice touch.

Mohawken just instantly makes me think of Turducken (Turkey-Duck-Chicken, for those not blessed enough to have tried one).

Much worse, bro, much worse. icon_lol.gif

  • what's the point of subs if we're just going to be sent into a rubberbanding, lead-erasing footrace at the end? why not just have a 2 day main bracket instead?

cause the subs provide mini rewards, where if there were no subs it would make this event even more boring and everyone would just whine
  • Got 3 Shield Bro cover from tokens...and its my only maxed ***. Seriously, how much chance do youve to get smth like this.

Anyway met new Daken, 125 lvl. It was probably my first and last try to clear this node.

That was my goal..every node go be sub 200. The next refresh ill grind more maybe, but I do need to eat and sleep sometime today lol...

I concur, I placed 1st and 3rd in the subs. I got absolutely nothing. Perhaps there should be just iso and hp for sub rewards since that's exactly what you get anyways. I have actually got most (90%) of the covers I have from standard tokens. So what gives. Why aren't the rewards worth the effort.

Having to slog through the sub brackets just to get a measly 250 ISO to go along with my Heroic Token...I get that they want to severely limit the amount of ISO given out, but 250 is just bleh.

This isn't really a complaint, just a minor annoyance...also I'm too hot right now to try and make any well thought out points. And I enjoy the warm weather, just wasn't ready for it today.

We have barely more base points in main, 3x1380 if I calculate correctly, but only 2 possible resets. So it definitely won't invalidate anything. and you can't overtake anyone who is ahead and playing the same battles.

EDIT: I remembered 1200ish points in subs but seem it was actually over 1400 so we actually have slightly less.
  • well im done with this event i got the points i needed, wanted to max my cap's red (even if he's a lazy leader icon_razz.gif) so i'll just rank whever and get whatever prize i get.

    Back to PvP I go!

I'm just waiting for those people who was leading in the main and subs to come here and complain about rubberbanding and higher level enemies.
  • The recent rubberbanding is such that if you don't keep pace you'll never catch up with the guy ahead of the pack. Due to the threat of community scaling looming on the horizon, grinding early is now a reasonably good proposition. This event is hard to have an ultra high scaling if no bugs are involved simply because neither Magneto and Spiderman are available which means sooner or later you'll have no problem satisfying the damage taken quota unless you did something crazy like max boost every fight.

It seems like people are having problem adjusting to the new rubberbanding where only playing at the end matters is no longer possible. I've seen guys only drop 10 places for missing the final refresh in the top 10 in the main bracket. That'd be unthinkable in the past, but is now quite possible. This also means even gaining an entire refresh's worth of points might only move you up 10 places.

Only top two pins showing as Normal for me after 1 full clear and a 2nd clear of those two + the Patch pins.

I am going to grind this into dust.

I managed to get into the top ten of my main bracket, but it took redoing a few nodes more than I usually do. Just frustrated, and said to hell with my personal scaling. I know hitting a node three times means it goes up, but, did so to get all the nodes down at or below 200 value.

However, since finishing that an hour ago, my spot is slowly, but surely dwindling. But planning on waiting out for a refresh to see what happens. If we just had to worry about the rubberbanding, I mean, every 12 hour one - , and not a huge separation between you and the leader due to the point change, then I'd feel pretty good about where I'm at right now. But, given it's all working so odd and different than usual, combined with the Season 1 PvP happening, and the LR's (which I usually use for some ISO gathering) etc.... it's just really hard to know if what any of us is actually good, or if it's just giving the tinykitty just what it needs to eat your lunch.

Just way too much going on at the same time - and most of it is critical for either your placement in PvE or placement in the PvP which leads to placement in Season 1. Really hard to focus on one and not the other for too long of a period. Really gets to be just more and more of a grind overall.

Heaven forbid anyone actually go to sleep...
