When I first saw the Daken art I thought I was looking at a charcter from the Last Airbender

OK, I took Ice's advice and cleared some sub nodes.. Now I'm only 5000 pts back from the leader and rank 570 in my main bracket. I looked at the Rocket Men node in the main (that I still haven't played) and it's only 174 pts now. I'm pretty skeptical that I'll be able to catch up to where I should be without some action by the developers.

Adding my number experience for those that want to crunch what was changed:

Joined the main event bracket before the switch to 400m, joined a sub before the switch also but only did one node in there worth 282. Didn't play anything else before the switch. At the time it happened my main bracket leader had ~9800 and my sub leader ~7700. My main bracket score was 1052.

I noticed the switch to 400m and came to the forum to see what happened. Then stopped playing the event awaiting an announcement from the D3 team.

After IceIX's latest message nothing will change tonight I went and completed a single run of each node in the sub.

    - That left me with a score of 3418 in the sub, while the leader is at 8198.
    - My original reference node I started the sub with at 282 was worth 84 after the 400m switch and drifted up to 88 by the time I started my run.
    - After running each node once that reference node had dropped to 55 points.

I'm just not seeing how the math works out that I have any chance to place high in this sub. And by extension I'll be way behind in the main bracket. Maybe future rubberbanding opportunities will be there in the main bracket, but the rubberbanding in the current sub makes it look almost impossible to me at this time to close the main bracket gap.
  • Basically you screawed for the sub which is not cool. Reset is needed
  • The new cover PVP rewards have let me cobble together a level 1 4/5/1 M. Storm. I just might have her finished by the time I join.
  • A full reset of the entire event would solve the problem. Start fresh 9am or 12pm Pacific time would work with all proper mechanics, scaling, and rubberbanding in effect. It's just that easy to solve.

Since people who start their man bracket _after_ the change to 400M are ok points-wise I don't see a full reset happening on Monday, unfortunately.

Most logical scenario: Let this event run its course, with those of us who started their main right away but didn't do anything in a sub being locked out of Dakens due to no chance to catch up in the main.
    Tough luck.
Then an immediate repeat of the event where everybody is on equal footing again.

Of course a reset would be the only sensible way to approach this, but seeing that this will have run for 4 days until Monday, that's just not going to happen.
So some lucky people will end up with two sets of Lazy Daken covers, while most of us will be left out in the cold, with mega-scaling if we care enough to grind for high finishes in the subs.
Not cool, but totally what I expect.
  • pretty sure this is not normal but i have 3k less points from top and literally everything is giving me 150- this has never happen before. usually the points would give us more to catch up but giving me 150- is clearly no way to get up no where near 3k+
  • ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ give reset...

Yeah, my individual main is fine, since I was able to get in on a completely downscaled bracket, but this basically means that alliance scores are hosed

    Yeah.
But since the point of PVEs has been to rope new people in, who aren't in an alliance to start with, I think the devs will be fine with that.
I'd love a reset, but I don't see it happening. Would love to be proven wrong, though.

Without a reset I've got absolutely no hope of getting a Daken cover out of this.

I did one run through during my lunch break and wound up 12th in my main bracket and 2nd in the sub - I check back 3 hours later (after reading this thread) and I'm now 250 something in the main and a whopping 4500 points behind the leader icon_cry.gif

    ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ RESET OR RIOT ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

On another note, anyone else loving low level buffed characters for this event? I have a level 1 fully covered M. Storm and level 6 Cap that I'm just suiciding in rounds with Patch: hopefully that lowers my personal scaling by quite a bit. I'm also using level 6 MN mags, M. Storm, and my level 130 IM40: turns out that IM40's blue is pretty good when you have MN mags feeding him infinite blue off of 9 purple.
  • What are the sub rewards?

I assume its best for me to just wait on joining at this point. Probably would have anyway, but now I am even less willing to pop my head in until a more official response comes out than "we haven't decided yet" (thank you for at least that much though IceIX...I am sure whomever pulled the pullum and pushed on the pushum for this didn't know that it would put pickles n the jar).
  • At least most of you can play. Since I did too "well" in the last event my opening subs are above what I can do. I can not even do a opening clear.

I do not even care about how I place, I just want to be able to play the nodes at least once. I can not even imagine what they will be like later in the event since they are near unplayable at the start for me.

For the record I have no maxed out three star characters, my highest character is a level eighty nine punisher. Everyone else is below eighty five by a large margin. I do have every single two star character maxed thou save for bagman, darken, and hawk eye modern since I am missing covers for them.

I just want to be able to participate.

They are ok individually. Their alliances are still hosed.

Tinykitty that. If that's the case, then why have alliance rewards that have tinykitty covers otherwise unobtainable?

I had exactly that problem in The Hunt. After the first round of subs rolled through my starting nodes were all above 150 (which is tough but not impossible for a team of L125's) so I was basically banging my head against the wall to get anything done. Every node would kill me at least once no matter who I threw at it.

On the upside it seems to have reset my personal scaling to something far more reasonable now.

I wish they where in 150 cause with max cap and mn mags it would be doable. Nodes are in the 190s for me at the start, before any play. Pve gods have deemed, thou shalt not play. Do not know if that is a good idea thou, since I have seen mentioned mmr is only adjusted by play... So ... Do I need to lose a ton? Will that even work? I just do not know what I need to do so I can be back to a reasonable level again. Wouldn't intentionally losing be considered a exploit? Again not sure what to do.

From the way IceIX was talking, it sounds like there's a large percentage or fixed amount drop at the beginning of each event, so you'd probably want to enter and do the absolute minimum possible to keep from adding to your personal scaling?
  • you know the real solution to the points issue would have been to INCREASE the points given by each node to he point that those who gotten the early points didn't get any advantage, and maybe increase the goal to suit (Which seems they already did).
but I guess that would screw up the progression rewards :/
