    Not really, there are people that can actually compete in this event full force because they will have time off around this time that normally can't.


    Just like there are people who can't because they have other obligations.


    Saying new content shouldn't be running because it runs on a holiday and holiday weekend is very selfish and one sided.

    I'm happy for an event over the holidays to focus on. Even with family time, I can play more with the days off. I don't have a lot of free time on work days.

    Also excited for the new character. Free crit tiles every turn will be nuts with 5* match damage. Overpowered with Gambit AP advantage and whoever your highest match tile damage character is. Boosted 5* characters practically 2 shot non-boosted 5*s with crits.

    If I'm reading it right, her red ability doesn't just apply to red AP.  If she's the strongest blue user on the team, then extra blue AP will increase the blue match damage, etc.

    This probably makes here another "kill first" character, since the more allies you take out the more colours she will tank.  If she's the last character standing then she'll be doing extra damage with every match, and that damage will increase with every turn since she has no way to deplete here AP.

    I don't get this pick, she isn't on any netflix shows, no movies or even on the two marvel TV shows. So why this specific character after 3 years of dazzler demand. Something smells...

    As others have said, she is featured in an upcoming animated film "Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors":


    Out of the eight characters on the poster, five are already in the game (Spider-Gwen, Captain Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Quake, and Ms Marvel).  Of the remaining three, she's probably the most popular.

    She was pretty good in Kieron Gillen's run of Young Avengers, if you want to learn more about her.

    Well i wouldnt bet on it, marvel is cancelling her comic, im not sure if it even made 12 issues yet

    Neither of the other two (Inferno and Patriot) have had solo titles to begin with, so I think she probably still edges them out.

    And there's lots of characters in the game who don't have ongoing solo titles of their own, so why is that the standard?  There's a bunch of well loved characters who primarily appear in team books, and have at most had solo limited series

    I'm not sure why everyone thinks this is because of the new EiC. It was going to get canceled anyway. It sold terribly and most people saw it for the awful mess it was. They were just waiting for enough to fill out 2 trades.

    America is the worst, most boring caricature of a personality that Marvel has managed to paint-by-numbers their way into, out of the recent batch of new characters.  So I suppose it fits that her MPQ representation is also boring and uninspired.

    As far as Christmas release goes, this is one of those places where forum bias blinds people to the facts of life. D3 isn't being fair or unfair by changing scheduling decisions. For every person who is personally inconvenienced by stuff like this, another person is thrilled.  The fact that you might regularly place well in events holds exactly zero sway with anyone who is concerned with being fair. It's a non-factor. 

    More people are going to be happy about a Christmas release than not, and the only reason you all think this is some kind of abuse rather than a favor is because you're all forgetting that you form a disproportionate chunk of the winner's metagame, and the entitlement that comes with that status is tough to fight off.

    Just along this line of thinking I believe you are wrong.  Most people celebrate Christmas so having to play a mobile game to try and get the new release character rather than spending time with family is a poor decision.  
    Having the new release over Christmas break is a fine idea as many people take the week off and having a new release surfing this time many people could be happy about.  If they started the event Christmas Day it would actually give more flexibility to the event because you don’t need to start an event right at opening to place.  Starting the event on Christmas Day would let players spend time time with family opening gifts, go to church, eat dinner as a family, go see a movie and get Chinese food(yes I’m Jewish and this is my family’s tradition). Everyone will probably have different times during the day they will be able to play and start the event, but if the event is already running there is only 1 optimal way to play and having that on Christmas Day is something most players would rather not deal with.

    This is the problem


    You don't have to do anything its a game, if your in an alliance that doesn't understand you won't be available for christmas holidays or you feel like you HAVE to play then thats more a personal problem than the company..

    Most players *don't* deal with it, that's my point.  Most players don't play optimally, like at all. That's a forum thing.

    Let me suggest something which I've done successfully in the past: just don't join the event until day 2 or 3, whenever you feel like you can commit.  You'll be shocked at the lower amount of effort required to place, even with a regular release event.  Join, say, late on Christmas Day?  It'll be the easiest new character you ever got.

    And if you don’t get it from the release event, the next event is a 7-day event so there will be 2 covers in progression.

    With 1 point in green, wasn’t sure how well she would do vs Loki. Match begins, I get a match 5 into a cascade leading to a match 5 into a cascade and finish with a match 4 and AP everywhere. Loki makes a move, my turn starts, crit tile magically appears next to two same color tiles and Loki falls over.
    5* players are going to hate her PVP if they don’t manage to keep their AP up higher than the AI. Those crits appear next to auto matches more often than not with crit generating powers.
