What would D3 need to provide you in order to start saying nice things about the game again?

All great stuff, we hope to have some updates soon. We have been working on the game a lot and reviewing the direction. We hope to have good news soon!4

And I _do_ have a bunch of people who would love this game. The deck management was the first big step, after that was fixed I got my wife and kids playing. The next step is feeling "safe" with the new devs (hence the communication requirement), then I have a bunch more people to recommend it to.1

Better drop rates, every single guaranteed rare packs I have bought this block only had one rare in it. It feels like everyone but me has masterpiece cards as well during game play and it is irritating since they tend to be overpowered. Also targeted support destruction0

Thank you. Having confirmation that this is being read is a good start.
Bigby needs to be freed up to say a lot more to reassure people. I absolutely realise some things need to be kept quiet, but people need far more reassurance then they have been getting, especially after big problems.1 -
Here are my main problems with the game - and what I think, could solve them in a creative way:
1. The events get dull fast
After a short time they all feel a bit dusty/grindy, especially PvE. The best cards to play them are found after the first couple of playthroughs, the novelty disappears after that, and in the end it comes down to a huge grind (4h recharges) with what feels like insulting rewards for the amount of work. Many of us would stop at full progression if this wasn't a coalition event. Many stop anyway. What game is constructed in a way that playing it feels like work and not like fun after a while? Not many. For new players the dullness is lesser since they struggle more. Last big PvE has bored even many of them though, since it was easy to find solutions to most of the opponents, even Bolas.
Solution: For PvE: SURPRISE US. Change a card or two in every node for every run. This week Bolas was easily beaten with creatureless decks? Next week he came back with one more creature and a support destroyer, and already it all looks a bit harder without causing frustration. For PvP: DONT BE LAZY. Change the node colors every week. Change the obejctives every month. It cant be that hard. Make them a bit more - you know - "fun". There are SO MANY possible ways to win/lose a game, why does it always have to be the same 10 implemented. Let us cast some of those otherwise useless goats and snakes and whatnot. Let us win without destroying any opponent creature and at the same time casting only one support. And change that again. Let us play tournaments that we look forward to every month because every month they bring something new to the strategy table which lets us discuss and build and innovate.
Also: Bring back old events. That has been said so many times, and here it is again: Why not change RGP to Avecyn Madness once a month? It was so much fun back then and could be again, this time maybe even with Standard as restriction.
2. Do something with TG
Since you really seem to be serious about not bringing back QuickBattle, make TG – here is that word again – fun. Give us leaderboards, we want to compete in some way or another. Give us the possibility of playing standard only, and legacy only. Give us the possibility to compete against an opponent we choose after the 4th win for example. Make us want to play more than 4 games. Put us in a bracket with 20 other people which form a league of sorts for that day. The winner by percentage of wins and amount of games played gets a small extra prize.
3. Give us more coalition play
No player (as far as I can tell) would say no to a possibility for playing their coalition mates in a fun event. Doesnt even have to give any award. Just let us target the people we wanna play for - here it is again - fun. We build our decks and never know how they actually fare in the hands of the AI. Give us that possibility too. Again: for no award. Just because it would be interesting.
4. Make the AI a bit more "intelligent"
For some reason the last update has made "Greg" dumb as a piece of wall on a building no one uses. He "chooses" a match-3 over a match-5. He never ever considers any more steps than his first one, so there are only random cascades, never anything planned. You know, I would like to lose more. I would like it to happen outside of an enraged event and because the AI had a good deck AND matched in a good way. I would like to observe intelligent gem processing by the AI that would make me think about my own moves in an even more strategic way. Of course we all want to win. But the way it happens right now feels not challenging at all. So many people have even perfect scores, and I bet there are hundreds in every event who don't lose a game. Wouldn't a bit more struggle to win be more fun?
Solution: Revamp Greg. Give him more talent in gem matching. Let him consider the way in which the gems will fall after he does a match. If you have problems yourself and the current state of Greg is your own matching talent, we would definitely be able to show you how it goes. Just for starters: Let him please match-5 again.
5. Communication
This has been said so many times, but I'll emphasize on it again: Talk to us. We have ideas, we have competent people, we want this game to stay and succeed, we are not the enemy, we are actually on your side - you just have to let us.

Hi Everyone. Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback! Just to let you all know, I've made sure to include this thread in this week's report to the development team.4

@Brigby and @Cthulhu both acknowledging that our comments are at least being heard... that's a great start!
Also, totally agree with @uwetellkampf! Great suggestions both on content and a slightly better Greg. Even if you just adjust him back to being pretty bad at gem matching, but give him the ability to prioritize cards for certain situations (eg prioritizing a kill spell when the player has a threat on the board) or not being a self destructive moron (ie wiping his own board when the player has no creatures).
Why is it more fun to have hundreds of people miss less than a full games worth of points because of ridiculous kill creatures + don't take 15 damage in enraged, than simply having an AI that isn't dumb as a brick and can actually pilot a deck.

Just changing the objectives, or removing them entirely, would make the game far more interesting to me. The most fun I have each week is on the blue node of HoR, because it promotes varied deck options. The least fun is the red node, with its ridiculous dependency on RNG.

Hi @Cthulhu and @Brigby !
We've got some great increased player participation planned for you in the future... we can't give you any details about it now, unfortunately, but believe us, it will be something special! As you know, sadly, we've lost a lot of players recently, but we've got some cool new ones waiting just around the corner, stay tuned for further announcements!
I'll include your feedback in my weekly report to the player base!

I would say they're both fun, but they went for the low hanging fruit.0 -

Please make sure that "all [you] can" includes getting rid of the ridiculous "kill 3 or more enemy creatures" objective. Thanks!

I'd much rather more objectives be added and some of them randomised each event (especially changed between colours) than have _any_ removed.
Yes some end up being potentially impossible based on what the other person plays, but that is true anyway, this is just a more _obvious_ case of what is always true.

I totally forgot Card Balancing in the above post.0

It's Ok. Steve's got that covered.0 -

May I change my answer to a better RNG? In the last 3 weeks I've bought three 300 mana gem packs and one 600 pack set and only pulled the guaranteed rare cards from each, all rare cards that I already owned. I don't have that large of a collection, so pulling the rare that I already have, and only one rare at a time, is really disheartening.0

You can't "adjust" RNGs and keep them random, so you need a different system in place over the top to deal with duplicates. That is planned and noone has backtracked from that.0
