Anyone else feeling the burnout?

Usually, vacation is when I feel like I can push a little for better placement in PvE.  I've got a full week coming up, and I'm doubtful whether I'll even bother going for progression.

Are you really in 4* land if clears are taking you that long though? It suggests the scaling is too difficult for your roster.
It could also be the case that he doesn't have the specific 4* boosted heroes for the week well covered / fully leveled / etc. I noticed a difference in clear time going from boosted Medusa (champed) to boosted Cage (4/5/2) & 3* Strange when the weekly list changed. Medusa chews through nodes in a hurry; free attack damage, AP generation, and team healing when you need it. Cage & 3* Strange on the other hand: no AP generation, no attack tiles, just Strange's passive for free damage, and having to watch Cage's animation a lot. Sure you take next to no damage but it's undeniably slower. I may not even get the Yondu cover in TaT because of this. I probably needed a break anyway.

I've sat out this week's PVP too, same reason. My Cage isn't fully covered, nor is my Mordo, so I'm just a sitting duck anyway.
Should have used the unboosted Medusa then. Thats what I used. Even unboosted, she still carves through nodes with Strange.

I'm getting burnt out on champing 4 stars (currently at 34 with seven more maxed covered), the iso is really too high for the number of them in the game. 200-250k would be a much more reasonable amount than 375k as it currently stands.

And about half that cost comes taking a character from 9 covers/Level 188 to 13 covers/Level 270+champ fee. Actually, it might be more than that. Anyone have any concrete numbers?

It causes a real bottleneck and is a big drain on your ISO once you get several characters to that level at the same time.

I'm hoarding right now, waiting until 5tar-Lord and Doc Ock rotate out of Latest to pull, which should be about another 8 weeks out so. By that point, I likely should have at least 50 LTs and about 2000 ISO. But I'm slowly coming to the realization I probably won't have enough ISO to avoid wasting some covers.

It will all depend on which covers I pull, of course, but there are many scenarios I foresee where I'm simply not able to champ all the characters I need to in enough time to avoid turfing some covers. I guess I'll find out one way or another in about two months. My plan is to champ G4mora once I get the covers from progression, but then hold of putting ISO into anyone if I can help it until I pull that hoard.

I believe it costs about 127K to take a 3* from Level 40 to Level 166; that includes the champ fee. A 4* should probably be at least double that to go from 70 to 270. I think 275-300K is more realistic. I know 300K doesn't sound like much of a step back from 375K, but with the ISO you save, you could champ 5 characters for about the price it costs to do 4 right now.

I didn't play for a week while on vacation.  Now that I'm back every match feels like a tedious waste of time.  Already stepped down from my alliance, dpd only until I quit completely.

I tapped out today... very nearly...

I left my T100 Alliance a few weeks ago, and I'm currently in some rando public alliance just to get more Resupply ISO... though I haven't even played yet today... didn't play yesterday.  My VIP expired two days ago, the first time I've let it lapse since its inception last June 2016... A couple hours ago I left my LINE Alliance Chat...

...I need only ~100k ISO to champ my 51st 4*, and I think 7 days to do it before the cover I have in queue expires... I think I'll play enough to at least not waste that cover and get him done... but then I don't know if or how much I'll play after that...

I'm just burned out playing the PvE 6-clears a day on schedule (more for new characters, which come out too frequently)... There's not much new/different to game play... MPQ is just not fun anymore...

Maybe after a break I'll miss it and come back...  Maybe?

I would prefer slower new releases as well. It creates too much pressure to scramble for iso every two weeks. And I get further and further behind.  That's not fun.

If they're hard set on keeping the current release schedule, then they should offset it with more iso so people feel they're progressing their rosters.

It's amazing how many have mirrored my recent history as well.

When progression moved to 5 clears, my desire to continue has ever-so-gradually eroded away.

It's so much of a time commitment that I feel every match has to go as quickly as possible such that I'm not continually wasting my time and can move on to the next clear (or node). And with that mentality, comes the fact that I have to use a certain few sets of characters. Over. And. Over. Again. On. The. Same. Enemies. Over. And. Over. Again.

Even when things go quickly, I'm sitting there getting pop up confirmation/claim button screen after pop up confirmation/claim button screen. I spend more time in that part of the game than any where else... It is the opposite of fun.

I recently began another mobile game recommended by alliance mates. A very engrossing and fun game with a massive IP. Two things I appreciated IMMEDIATELY: 1) a consumable resource to simulate a node, and 2) an option to auto-play the mission if you decide not to manually play or simulate. At first, I only wanted that game as a side piece to mpq. But in a short span of time, it has really gotten my attention. And I'm pretty picky when it comes to games.

Another burnout tip:  drop to a lower SCL for PVE.  I am in 7 this time....what a difference.  Have been doing 8 forever.  One event, even, will be very nice.  Try it.

Yes slum down who cares if people who belongs in that CL really needs those placement rewards. The 1000 day vets need ALL the placement rewards.

Well, I have less time this week to play.  So I chose 7 to make hitting 6 clears and full progression possible with my schedule.  I don't plan to pursue placement at all (T50 is fine).  I just think playing to progression with less time requirement is nice.

I do fully understand your frustration.  I heartily, mightily endorse greater differentiation between SCL rewards, to discourage playing down to dominate, as well as more 4*s being rewarded to more places.

The devs made some people happy while making a whole lot more mad.  It is a double edged sword to allow control over playtime, while simultaneously keeping placement limits in place.  The devs rolled out the red carpet to 5* players, which they needed to do, but did not decide to change rewards to meet the demand that the influx of high performing players would create.

I really hope there are reward changes coming.

This game feels like it's all or nothing to me:

    PVE first:
    -you must clear all 5 mother-tinykitty nodes or you get zip- just some ISO and some covers way below your roster, whatever that tire might be;
-miss one day of the event and all your grinding goes to waste
-the optimal play style is requires a 22 hour break, which is annoying, hardly fits my work/sleep schedule and often leaves me with nothing to play when I'm bored for 5 minutes
-same missions over and over, same animations, same team-choosing, reward claiming etc.; why not an option to do 5-10 difficult missions instead of 40 easy ones, which of course brings me to...

PVP: less grinding, more variety, but:
-with so many passives and animations, with half the teams using Medusa/Cage/Dr. Strange, every match takes forever
    -if you're between tires, you can only play so much before you're out of health packs;
    -you also need to shield otherwise you get attacked when you take break;
-again, it's better to play and wait and play at specific times, so still nothing to do if you're bored for 5 minutes

Basically, all the good rewards are at the end, they all require spending a lot of time going through lot of repetition.

Not to mention the frustrating lack of ISO and the fact new characters (well, different versions of existing ones anyways) get released sooner than we get the chance to play with the old ones. And once you move to a different tire, you rarely get the chance to use the weaker characters anymore. Too many versions: 6 Spidermen+2 Spiderwomen, 4 Hulks, 4 Wolverines+ X23+ 2 Dakens, 3 Captain Marvel+ Ms Marvel, 4 Black Widows, 3 Starlords and all the duplicates. At least remove the 1* tire, since it's now useless to everyone.

This 7 day Sentry PVE is making me feel it.  There is no other word to describe this slog than BORING.  There just seems to be no point anymore.  If 4*s keep getting released without any way to really earn more ISO, I can never catch up.  So why am I trying to 5 clear this event to get the max reward?  I honestly don't know.

I honestly wouldn't care if they decreased the rewards of that meant I didn't have to do 5 clears.

Knowing that I won't achieve max progression, and that the best rewards are backloaded really hampers my will to keep playing.

Day 1082, yeah ive been on the burnout train for awhile, my biggest problem is the time put in vs the rewards obtained, like too much work for terrible rewards, token pulls are terrible, bh is too sketchy and the iso crunch is unreal with frequent character releases, the 4 clear pve was ok, i havent really touched pve since it went to 5 clears, pvp is just pvp, always has been, i didnt even try for the 10pack this season, past 2 have been 1-2 3*'s and the rest 2*'s......back to my point of time vs rewards. Im glad i can be in a semi casual alliance or else i woulda probably quit already. Ive already stopped spending any $ awhile ago because in my opinion, it isnt worth it. Even the daily rewards have been lackluster lately, this season i just decided to step back and not really care, have had more time for my other hobbies though, im not gonna quit but my play time has decreased quite a bit, and honestly i'd advise a break if your getting burned, its felt kinda good not caring and pursuing other things outside of the game. As usual, just my 2 cents.

I'm in a really good place with the game, enjoying it a lot with the 4 star game but I add that my son does ddq for me 9 times out of 10 and usually the easy nodes on pve, some days the hard nodes too. If it wasn't for that I'd probably feel the same.

Pvp i I spend no more than half hour on per event, an early climb to 575, I can't stomach putting time into both and the game has swung to pve for awards from pvp.

Yup, I'm feeling burned out and 5 clear pve (inclusive of backloading of cp rewards) is a huge difference.

CL7 or 8. It's just not interesting and 45 minute clears for 50 clears of nodes are feel a tiny bit exaggerated. (unless you are thanos panther clearing everything in CL7, or have multiple boosted champs for every week/event )

You do realize that that means you are saying that even your higher scaled matches can't take much over 1 minute right?

Some matches have 10-20 seconds of passives depending on the boost week and event. That's already 8-16 minutes without you actually having fought and made decisions actually look for matches or actually cast powers, or actually selecting nodes etc, and entirely ignoring the scaling aspect and health increases for later nodes.

There aren't enough events to go around and doing 7-10 nodes 5-7 times for 3 to 7 days straight to continue to be interesting or engaging.

The 5 clear change wasn't at all needed, and made some events unnecessarily strict to the point where you're being actively punished if something comes up in real life to interrupt clears. (especially when you don't have one of the essentials, if you don't have an essential in a 7 day? well don't even look at the final cp reward, unless you grind early subs over casual {which I'm considering minimum to max prog} to get the 4 as soon as possible.)

The new pve format has really gotten to me. I can either play scl8 and have to work really hard to get my clears against the higher leveled characters or play down to scl7 and grind down to 0 to hopefully make t50. Either way it feels like a chore.
That's unfortunate but will resolve itself as your roster improved. I was at just the right stage when the change came in, the final mode was maxing out at level 330-40 as it was so it really hasn't changed anything as far as clearing nodes is concerned. I've not seen any real difference in terms of placement either, the main determining factor is how my gameplay is dictated by real life stuff.

I think this is how I avoid burnout:
    a) real life has precedence
    b) I go for progression not placement, decent placement is a nice bonus but at sc8 top 200 gives rewards I can use and is easily doable - playing around my normal work schedule more or less guarantees t100 with t50 being likely, and if I don't get it, well... I haven't lost anything real
    c) I don't hoard tokens - if a cover is wasted, well... I haven't lost anything real
    d) I use iso to make champs when I have characters to champ. When I don't, I level up the 4* essential for the next event. If I don't have the iso to do that, well... I haven't lost anything real
    e) I don't put any significant effort into PvP. 575 in an event is nice, 4000 in a season is nice, anything else is a bonus and if I don't have time to get even that much, well... I haven't lost anything real
    f) I'm in an alliance where the only requirements are to play daily (or give a heads up when abscence is unavoidable) and to contribute something to PvP or PVE, as preferred
    g) if ever I do get fed up of the game for whatever reason, I remind myself that it IS a game. If it gets to feeling like a chore then I just won't play. It's a timekill, a distraction, a diversion, and I won't give it more weight than it deserves.

Absolutely. MPQ used to be my go to. I don't know / don't want to know how much money Ive spent in the past to support the game I loved. There it is though. "Loved". Fundamentally this is a Puzzle Quest title with a Marvel coat of paint but over time, the formula hasn't aged well.

I'm rank 56 in game and thus far have 29 of the 3 star characters on my roster championed. I have some high 4 star characters and low covered 5 stars and have champed the 2 stars that I like (6). I am sitting on 4 star characters who are no where near getting full covers and this isn't about to change any time soon.

Every time they release a new character, the percentage chances of getting a cover I want / need significantly diminishes.

My Classic Cyclops (one of my all time fave characters) sits at level 74 with a measly 4 covers. My Eddie Brock Venom - another fave is at 70 with 3 covers and has been this way for over a year at least.

I am betting RNJesus will gift me covers. Despite the 'favourite' system in place, I've gotten one cover of each character since.

The grind exists in games like this, we all know this. However, in a game like Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes I can grind and unlock a character I really want in a few days to a week. Its just impossible to do so here without spending stupid amounts of money and in the end, for what? To match gems with a character I really enjoy? Cost versus gain is very low here. At least with Future Fight, I have a pretty in game graphical character to rotate, gawk at and appreciate.

There are no raids, nothing utilizing the guild system. No team based events utilizing every player who plays the game. Its just gotten stale. It's like the team are limited to just coming out with new characters and the odd event (which are just assets with text bubbles - and quite bland stories at that). Why not have a global Civil War event where EVERY player of the game takes a side and fights in nodes representing the world? Whoever controls nodes longest gets great rewards and recognition? Surely that's not hard to pull off. A tournament system between guilds or factions for timed rounds where the most damage wins?  ... Anything to make this feel like you are in a Marvel universe where there is always conflict?

There's so much you could do with this game to make it greater, but it seems the devs are simply content to churn out characters I never have a hope of ever owning in a useful state because of the archaic systems in place.

Don't even get me started on asking money for roster slots or the insane amount of ISO required to get anywhere versus how little the game doles out for menial grinding..etc..

Everything is at a premium in this game for what you get and when you look at the competition which looks a lot prettier and has more to do, I think it's time D3 need to wake up and start being lenient with what we get awarded for a start before trying to think of some fun additions as I have pretty much given up on this game which started with so much promise. There are countless others out there which offer more bang for my buck as far as reward and enjoyment go.

Sorry for the rant, but these have been my thoughts for a long time I felt I needed to share.
