    Yeah, this is irritating.

brigby just to clarify what we're saying, since perhaps this is not intended functionality:

Previously, if we chose a deck for a specific node, it would remain there until we changed it. For example, here's a sample two-node event:

    1.1 - Nahiri
    1.2 - Nahiri
    1.3 - Saheeli

    2.1 - Dovin
    2.2 - Dovin
    2.3 - Kiora

Let's say we play them in order. After finishing 2.3, and going back to repeat the cycle, the deck I had previously used would still be there. Which seemed like the intended functionality.

Now, however, after the change, if I end 2.3 on Kiora, and then try to play 1.1 or 2.1, guess what deck is there? Kiora. Not Nahiri or Dovin. This necessitates us reloading our event deck constantly.

Anyway, not sure if this is intentional, or a bug, but it defeats the purpose of having event decks if we're just selecting from our stored decks anyway.

Hi @madwren. That certainly does sound like peculiar behavior, so I've passed this information along to the developers, and they'll be sure to investigate.

I do not like the new event decks
Hi, I'm kind of new to this game, been playing since May. Custom decks are great to have, but the new system doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. I always liked the idea of having an event deck tied to each node. The old system did this well, you could copy your main custom deck first, then tweak it for a specific fight. That's what we need as a baseline, which is why the update was a step backwards for the user experience.

One of the most fun things in this game is trying different deck types. For a newer player like myself, I don't have a huge library to try a lot of the older mechanisms in the game. It took me a while to get the right cards to make a blue/black energize deck for Tezz, and it's fun to play. But I also have a cycle deck for him, a zombie deck, a creatureless kill spell deck, etc. I don't have but 1 of those decks premade anymore, because I don't have any slots for it. That's a bit draw to this game, just like MTG the card game. Deckbuilding is a core component to the fun, and this D3 game is very limiting in that regard. Event decks help a lot, but it would be even better if we could customize more deck slots and use our collections to their full potential, rather than constantly swapping cards and trying to remember which ones go together. For newer players, this is quite difficult.

If you want to improve the overall deckbuilding in the game, get rid of the Beginner, Intermediate, Master and Expert pre-built decks. I don't think anyone uses them as they are constructed. They only take up space on the PW menu. What would be better is to have 3-5 custom deck slots available for each PW. Allow 2 to be unlocked by your current payment methods 200 crystals or 50k runes. Allow the other 2 to be unlocked by leveling the PW to level 40 and 60. Or maybe make them purchaseable with runes, since those become abundant once your PWs level up. Or allow the pre-made decks to become customizeable once the cards are owned. Anything else besides the pre-made decks would be an improvement. In fact, simply removing the premade decks would be an improvement, so that we don't have to scroll past them to get to the custom decks.

Bottom line, having more custom deck slots is going to improve the FUN factor of the game, which is what makes people happy and continue to play.

Aaaand all of the event decks just emptied themselves.  Lovely.  Predicting the devs acknowledge this problem in around three weeks and fix it in three months.

BTW, the same thing happened during PVP yesterday.  For some reason, no one seemed to notice.

I love the event deck option. The only complaint is that event decks do not lock into the nodes that they were built for. If that was done, I've honestly have little to no complaints.

    what problem ?
it was a deliberate marketing choice forcing us to buy more crystals to get more decks

Actually you have x decks where x is the number of walkers you own.

It's not optimal and a step down from the previous implementation of event decks, but a big step up from no event decks at all.

If anything this highlights how good the event decks were.

This is an excellent point. While not perfect, I certainly miss the functionality that had been provided, and this shows how much tedious swapping we'd been saved. Event decks really WERE a quality of life improvement.

It is not peculiar behavior. It is what happens to everyone. The last planeswalker you use in a node it is the one you get by default in the next node you play, even if you have already played that node with other planeswalker before.

Also if you use more than one device, the event decks are not shared between them.

What you are asking for is literally how they worked before the most recent update.
Maybe I wasn't clear as what I'm asking for isn't exactly like before. The event decks as they are now have the option to be a copy of one of your storage decks. Nicely done and I like this. So say you started 1.3 with a deck copy of one of your builds for Gideon 3. If You go to 2.1, Gideon 3 appears there as well when in actuality you used a Kiora deck for 2.1. Meanwhile, 3.2 also uses a Kiora deck but a slightly modified version of the one you're using in 2.1... so at this time you have to go back and forth dropping and adding cards.  What I suggest is when a set in a node is opened,  a new blank event deck for that set in that node appears. You fill, copy, create to your hearts desire knowing that when you fill that event slot for Gideon 3. That it doesn't match the one you created in another set and node. These are timed decks and clear out when the event ends so it still fulfils D3's agenda to encourage players to buy into the deck slots; Whether through earned crystals or cash bought crystals. These decks in turn provide the convenience to transfer copies of these decks into the event deck slots.

I see what you are saying.  Admittedly, the outline for increased functionality exists in the new system, but they botched the execution to the extent that the lost utility negates any new value.
