okay so sum this up for me.

Is there a bug i'm not aware of that's only affecting some people or are people just confused about some of the features as they haven't been explained to us?

Everything you could do previously is still here except now it's a lot clearer and you can save event deck between nodes. Not sure what the beef is.

the problem is all nodes have the same deck saved
which is the deck you used last. this means that
playing something like toz event you might only
have 1 event deck for all 9 encounters where
you previously had 9 separate decks saved.
also I can't seem to edit the event deck after I
    view it?

You are able to still edit it but it's much less intuitive. Still haven't once thought "Oh, this is better than before."

Haven't used it yet. Does it, perhaps, save your deck from event to event?

ie will it save your deck from yesterday's TG to use in today's TG?

Hi Everyone. To my knowledge, the functionality of the Event Deck should not have changed, and it should still behave in the way it used to.

The main difference is the appearance of the UI; it better highlights the availability of an Event Deck slot. There are also buttons underneath your decks now, that allow you to more easily select them to be your Event Deck.

They are problematic when it comes to story mode. Now if I want to edit a deck for a specific heroic challenge for example, I have to edit one of the default decks. There is no "event deck" slot there, and I cannot edit a deck once I have it in place anymore. Complicates even further when it comes to sideboarding.
So.... no, I do not like the way this was implemented. Sorry
The Event Deck slot is only available when you are playing an event, therefore Story Mode will not have that deck slot shown.

I'm neutral on the change, it is a little more complicated than the previous setup, but it looks like its a bit more efficient once you get the deck locked in (you can switch out decks easier and the same one stays locked in throughout PvE).  I think once we get used to it it'll be ok

Okay.. WHYYYY is there a DAY LIMIT to the event deck??

That's the most ridiculous "feature" I've ever seen. When I logged in, this afternoon my event decks were gone.. So, what? After a day they think I might want to re-think my strategy??

PLEASE TURN THAT OFF.. It's annoying that I have to go in and reset the event deck for all my PW's in the current PW event.  :#

Yes, that is super annoying to have rebuild my deck in the middle of an event, kinda defeats the purpose of having an event deck doesn't it?

I can't edit the deck within the event, have to switch pw to do that, and that 1-day-timer is kinda suspicious, to say the least.
Without the ability to change the deck in-event it's a step back.

@Brigby The one day timer has got to go.  Having to rebuild all my decks is extremely aggravating especially since I did not base them on an pre-existing deck.  They should stay for the duration of the event like the old system.

I can't imagine needed to rebuild my decks three times during a Trial of Zeal event.  It completely counteracts the usefulness of the event deckslot if I have to use one of my regular deckslots to recopy to the event one every day.

It might have been to early to vote...In PVP it's okay, basically the same. But if it behaves in the new PVE event like it does in FS now...

I'm waiting for the weekend event to double check that it still functions in the desired fashion before making any judgement.

If totp is of any indication, looks that way.
It's ironic that totp does not carry your decks to each new node when that seems me how it should function. If you don't want to use the same pw, it's the same as having to add a new one but for anyone that uses the same one the entire time, it saves a little more time.

I also hate that it only creates one deck for all of Fateful Showdown.

The timer thing hadn't even occurred to me but I'd have to imagine we will be rebuilding our decks every day in addition to having 4 hour cooldowns for the Nicol Bolas event this weekend.

More time spent rebuilding decks = more time in game = increased player engagement!

Isn't the timer there just to clarify that the deck doesn't persist past the end of the event? There is "1 day" left in the event, and "1 day" left of the event deck.

That explanation is both logical and sensible.

Unfortunately that's not what we're looking for here.

Honestly I haven't looked very closely at the timers but you are probably right in that "1 day" is ambiguous at best. It probably will persist for the duration of the event. I know my totp decks had a 1:23 timer on them when I first made them which would have taken them right up to the end of the event.

However, 1. There are multiple events and 2. Not all events last for a day they last for more than that. If it's an event deck,

I would think that you can ONLY use it for events and nothing else, which is fine, but when it clears out your event deck and you have to redo it in the middle of the event.. yeah, not so smart.

I haven't noticed that overlapping events interfere with each other in regards to event decks. For the timer, "1 day" in the past could mean anything more than 24 hours. If an event ends in 4 days, it will still say "ends in 1 day". That only changes once it gets under 24 hours and then we get an actual countdown timer. This is my assumption for the new event decks as well.

I think the event deck is linked to the event timer.
my fs event deck is still there after more than a
day. it was saying ends in 3 days when it started
(from memory). anyone had to redo an expired
    event deck?

So how exactly do event decks work, then? Do you only get one event deck per event? And why are they timing out before the end of the event? And why were they changed at all?

It's very difficult for me to be outraged about things when I don't even know how they work properly. How about some instructions? Some games features instructions!

Here's another interesting tidbit.  It seems that the Event Decks are sometimes not persisting accross devices.  On my phone, I can see my Event Deck for Fateful Showdown but on my other device, it shows Nahili as selected but the Event Deck slot is empty.

The implementation of these event decks is definitely odd and bear some further explanation.

Edit: In another case, I can see Event Decks on both devices.  This is really weird either way.
