How do you like the new event decks now that we've established how they actually work?

I favor some PW's more than others, especially for different combinations of objectives, to me this is just barely a step up from having to make a new deck each time you play a node in PvE.

Without voting, my opinion is torn.

I like that if a deck for one planeswalker works for multiple nodes that I only have to build it once. However, I don't like that the event forgets what deck I was using every time I load a node, and I don't like that if I'm using the same planeswalker with a different deck that it also forgets what that deck was.

The third option should be "I still don't know what is supposed to be better about them." I was perfectly happy with how they worked previously, so I don't understand the change. What is the benefit of them?

Ok someone explain this to me:

I played an event level with event deck (deck A)
Changed my event deck for the next game (deck
Went into the level and discovered that I was playing with deck A.
So I thought, OK I've made a mistake of some kind.
But then after that game, I go and check my event deck again, and it's deck B??

I think maybe I didn't click the 'Use deck' button, but then, if I'm not editing my event deck, what exactly am I editing? It's not one of my deck slots, that's for sure. It says 'Event Deck' at the top of the screen, too.

The event decks should be tied to the node, not to the pw. They work fine in the events where the pw is locked to the node, but in zeal/RotG/4hrBSfests they are about as useful as a match in a tornado.

Can we please get official word that this was not intentional and they are going to fix this. The previous event deck set up made the 4hr recharge rate palliatable. But if I have to redo my decks every time through, I think I might quit the marathon.

Hi @Skiglass6. I've already passed along news of this event deck behavior along to the developers. They'll be sure to look into, and get back to me about whether it is intentional or bugged behavior.

Unfortunately since it is already the weekend, the developers are currently out of office, however I will be sure to update everyone once I hear back from them next week.

BTW I can clear the new event with N3 and Kiora so it's tolerable for the moment.

New event decks are basically a roll back to no event decks + 1 temporary deck per plane walker for the duration of the event. 

There's still the functionality of building decks right from events menu, which now includes the ability to save them permanently right from the events menu, which is a big plus actually. 

Hence, this is one step forward and two steps back. Pretty much the theme of how progress works in this game.

@andrewvanmarle Hiya, I notice you're in something of a minority liking the new event decks, but perhaps you've seen something we haven't. Would you care to explain what you like about the new event decks? Do you consider them a strict upgrade? Or, do you just like them, and accept they are a downgrade? Or a bit of both?

Hiya, i was wonderinh about that,why I'd be the minority but then i realised that i havent played a pve event with the new deck set up. 

I REALLY like being able to edit your permanent decks from the event as well as transferring a permanent deck into an event deck. That is a big plus for me. 

But i didnt realise that in pve events your event deck isnt remembered. That is really really bad. 

For pve events i used to have between 3 and 9 dedicated decks and the switching used to be a chore.

I like that you only need to build the event deck once (*coughAjaniCastOutcough*), but I don't know why adding that feature meant untethering PWs from particular nodes. I voted positive, but only because I think this was a step in the right direction. I would would like for the nodes to remember what PW you used as well.

Since playing the new Pharao event, I dislike the new event decks even more. In the past, each node remembered the deck I used, no it just gives me the last deck I used in this event. It is basically impossible to fit a deck to a certain node. I don't like it and I don't see why the change was necessary. Someone suggested so that we use the deck slots more (which I don't because the old event deck system was so great) but I don't see how that would even help unless you create a deck specifically for one of the bosses of this event which doesn't seem worth either the runes or the crystals.

If they were capable of communication, they'd be able to tell us why they did or ask us why they shouldn't have.

I do not like the new event decks

My new favorite part is that the event decks are stored locally instead of on the server, so when I go from my phone to my tablet to my emulator, I keep having to create the decks over again.

Yeah, I built a nice way to slowly (very slowly) take out Nicol on my tablet and when I go to my emulator to play at my desk, there's no event deck for that PW... That's neat, too...

But my favorite part is the "let's not keep track of who you last played this slot with and with what deck formation". That's keen... I love that part.

I do not like the new event decks

I like bits and pieces of the new event deck system, but having to change my PW per match and the game not saving my deck/PW for the node is annoying. Rather then customize a deck I have ended up just playing one or two of my pre-built decks (Koth & N3) with fair amount of success.

The New Deck management system is really cool, but its a lot to understand all at once. Kinda need a tutorial just for that portion of the game
