  • Is there going to be another PVP? I don't know if the servers could handle a PVP and shield simulator as everyone jockeys for last-minute points.

I kinda wonder if that is part why they did the bracketing of shield. They DID say it was for technical reasons, but didn't really specify. Might be they decided that the last day would see so much jumping that it would crash the servers. And no...nothing says there is another event over the weekend necessarily (especially if they keep having problems). If its going to be another garbage tourney I wouldn't mind not having another one anyway lol.
  • If there is an 11th tournament that is part of Season 1, it should start in about 9 hours, and the end time would be simultaneous with SHIELD Simulator and Season 1 itself. On the one hand, a three-way synced-up end time sounds like a ridiculously heavy load to dump on the servers, but no tournament would mean a 2-day gap in the pvp schedule with no announced pve event either, and that seems very unlikely to me.

i'll be very pleased if there is not another event until the end of season.. but i doubt it happens if they keep following their patterns..

If there were another tourney, they'd have featured it on their news splash by now, I would think.

    Then again, it's D3.
  • Hmm. I'm 1660 points below the 10k progression reward. I was going to slack for the next two tourneys, because I don't particularly care if I get 3 or 4 or 5 heroic tokens (I'm #224 now) but I could probably claw out 600-700 points from this and the (presumed) last tournament + make up the difference in S.H.I.E.L.D. (I'm at 2k there, wasn't going to climb more since I don't need any of the covers until spidey and he's not really achievable). But this looks *almost* doable. So tell me forum, should I do it for those extra 50 HP at 10k season progression?. That would be a hell of a grind...

Edit: although if they were going to do another one, they'd have started it already, no? Hmm.

too much effort for **** rewards.. if you have time, you can quietly farm isos.. with no expectation on your season rank (and nick fury safe for your alliance), you just rack up isos.. no shield hopping, no retal wars.. cool time..
  • Completely tangential to any real conversation. I dreamed last night that season 1 had just ended, my alliance got 101st place and season 2 started immediately and offered the second Fury cover. I woke up this morning to 126 points lost overnight in Heavy Metal (and I wasn't even that high - like 600 points). Something tells me I need to ease up or not play for 2 hours right before bed.
  • I think we can all agree that last day of Shield Sim is gonna be a tinykitty show... so my question to you all is With the massive influx in points that will undoubtedly occur do you think the final progression rewards will be achievable or will it be an endless struggle trying to stay in front of the wave of retals

This will be an elite tourney at the top, to reach 3200 you'll need to shield hop.
    A lot.
If you don't, you're just a tasty little snack for the Slobofixes and recklesses on their way to 4500.

I find that the impending nerf of Spidey makes it a lot easier for me to ignore the Shield progression rewards, as it means the only cover I now need is the green GSBW. And that won't be worth all the hassle it will take to progress that far.
  • Better keep ranking up points think my alliance is lacking except the few of us who have higher points

We are at 718 points we were in the 600s for a long time. If we go past 750 I won't see myself getting 5 more heroic tokens to help continue my 2* transitioning
  • I'm a little upset right now because there are about 3-4 people who have **** scores in my alliance that will prevent us from getting a Fury, with at least one particular guy not even logging in most days.

We're at 138 overall and it looks like the difference between us getting a Fury and us getting Heroic packs appears to be several thousand points, which works out to one individual busting their **** or several individuals putting in moderate work.

It sucks that I'm likely to finish in the 26-50 band as an individual and won't get a Fury because of a few particular freeloaders.

why don't you kick them so if you deemed them inactive?

This is an alliance where people paid for their spots, meaning they're commanders if they paid. The worst offender is a commander, which makes it near-impossible to toss him.

As a result, I'm looking at other alliances when the season ends. Hell, I'm tempted to jump now depending on the offer.
  • I'm 650 points away from 5000 and all i get on heavy metal and S.H.I.E.L.D. simulator are level 100+ 3* teams.
The highest level in my roster is 67. Great. Just Great.

    *cries in the corner*

I'm not sure, but IMO if you're anywhere near 3000 points and don't spend the entire last day shielded you're a nutball

Welcome to MMR hell. Time to learn how to tank so that you can over-tank and hit the opposite end of hell (where you only face 1* teams that will get you 7-8 points but will still retaliate). icon_razz.gif

"tank" means i should loose on purpose, right?
  • Did this get extended during the server downtime? It's showing up as 5d0h left for me, now.
