@MisterPete
I'm glad you appreciate that new feature! It's just one of the steps the team is gradually taking to help improve Matchmaking in events.

I don't have any information to formally announce just yet, but what I will cautiously say is that the system will give players the power to utilize duplicates in a way that helps them acquire the cards they want. It is anticipated to be coming within the time-frame of the next several updates.3 -

Yes, @shteev
Can't you see the two shared a moment? Don't you feel any shame to kill the mood like that? Shame on you! *
BTW, this little announcement definitely raised my mood, thanks for the info!
*this statement might or might not be sarcastic

Haha. Not a problem. I'm sorry I couldn't provide more information, but I figured the least I could do is tell everyone it is at the top of the developers' to-do lists, and it is coming soon!1 -

@Brigby Just out of curiosity, what timeframe should we expect "next several updates" to mean? Are we intending half a year, or closer to three months, as a rough estimate?
Also, do you know yet whether current duplicates will be forced into runes, or whether we can safely stockpile duplicates whilst waiting for the update?0 -
@Thuran If I'm choosing one out of those two options you've presented, I'd anticipate closer to three months.
Unfortunately that's the kind of finalized information I don't currently possess. Once I hear of a finalized plan, then I'll be sure to update the community with that news.2 -
@Brigby- if there's going to be a change several updates from now which will make it advantageous for folks to hang on to their duplicates:
Would it be possible to move the giant green "CONVERT DUPLICATES" button from the top of the inventory screen, which is the main reason that I convert 100% of my Duplicates every time I go to that screen? Thanks!

Translated, this means we're looking at 3 months or so.1 -

Maybe so... this is a fairly new concept they're having to conceptualize, design, code, test and retest to ensure this works for all involved. It's not like they have 500 people from India coding sweatshops working on this 24/7. (Or do they???? O.o ) There IS the Amonkhet release they need to work on as well as other existing issues since the update. So I am gonna cut them some slack and be happy that this is even on the table for discussion and development.

"Test and re-test".
Good one!3 -
Sorry guys if my positivity is annoying. But since I've joined this forum, it's been getting really tiring reading jab after jab after jab after jab; especially from the same roundabout 6 members. If D3 posts something, it's shot down. If someone supports D3 in a discussion, they're mocked. D3 isn't perfect, nor do I expect them to be. But from what I've seen so far, they've been trying to connect and use what the forum has informed them... again it doesn't always go the way we hope. While I get being disgruntled as I've certainly complained here and there. But I've not made it my sole purpose to antagonize the game. I enjoy playing MTGPQ and appreciate some of the challenges it provides. It has its pluses and minuses... like any game. I also enjoy the discussions in this forum. I've learned a ton from the more experienced and am grateful for their interaction. I just choose to remain positive as can be for not only the enjoyment of discussion but for others here. We are a family of sorts under one forum about a game that many of us enjoy, no? If I have overstepped the line for my post, I apologize in advance and ask that the moderators delete if they feel it necessary. *bows in respect to all here*1

I used to feel just like you! But sooner or later you will actually start to appreciate shteev's snark, it's a pretty good day when that happens...2

Complaining about people who complain is still a form of complaining. If complaints are inherently "bad", then complaining about complaints is also "bad". If complaining about complainers has value, then the initial complaints can also have value.
Most successful companies look at consumer complaints as a gift. Corporations spend millions, and even billions of dollars every year trying to figure out what customers want and how to get them things they want to buy at a price they want to pay. No matter how successful someone is, they can always improve, and look for ways to improve.
Just as criticism can be constructive or non-constructive, praise can also be constructive or non-constructive. It's true that most people would rather have non-constructive praise than non-constructive criticism, but such praise does not necessarily create more value.

The best way to enable buy-in is to communicate not only the changes, but the reasons behind the changes and the desired direction that is being set. When that communication is lacking, and those individuals whom the changes affect (and their opinions) are not treated as valued entities, resentment sets in and festers. Unfortunately, that has been the norm. The opportunities for constructive dialogue have been present, and at one point in time, we felt that there was reciprocity. That was June 2016. Yes, there are always going to be those who are perhaps overly critical or snarky--I've certainly fallen into that category myself now and then, though I try to keep it constructive 90% of the time. However, having to deal with some snark or hostility is not an acceptable excuse for the Powers That Be to remain absent, and leave us constantly in the dark.
I'm personally thrilled to see new members engaging with the forums and contributing to the conversation. However, please understand that after a year of this, even you might reach the same cynical breaking point. I think we should all remember that despite our differences, we're united in our love of the game at its core, and passionate about what it could be.
