Token Pull Exploit (3/27/17) *Updated (4/12/17)

I don't know what to expect anymore from this, and maybe we are just excepting too much. I know they will not give a details on who, if they choose to, roll back or sandbox.  Just some follow up is all we are requesting.

I expect an eventual response, or they can lock the thread which is the same as saying move along, nothing to see here, ever.

The official response was it was unstickied, which translates to move along, nothing to see here.

@Ducky Is there a difference between bumping and grumbling?

Also, are you in a position to ask anyone on the inside for an official response, or at least a "We aren't responding ever" so that people reading this thread can get some closure and move on?

If the grumbling adds something new to the conversation, no, it's not the same as bumping. 

I have no way of getting anyone official to respond to this thread. Now having said that, I get the impression that since the exploit was patched in r125, the devs have moved on so I would suggest others do as well.

But the conversation isn't about if it was patched or not, it's about determining if D3 actually does anything about accounts that used the exploit.

Since every aspect of this game is vs other players, not participating in an exploit that isn't punished leaves a player at a disadvantage. 

Obviously we're all rule-followers on this thread, and do not want to use exploits to otherwise cheat at a game, but what is D3 doing to make sure that this is the dominant trait of players? Anything the forum moderators could do to create a channel to get official responses on serious issues like this would help reduce the amount of times you have to flex your mod-muscles, and eliminate discontent in general.

If I wouldnt be 100% sure official responses dont have intentionally false information, here is what i would think about this situation:

I would think they arent punishing everybody since they actually didnt had the tools/proof to identify past exploiters.

Except statistically obvius cases where the cheater could still tell he had extreme but possible luck

Let's say, for argument's sake, that I, AlexxKats (in forums and in game) knew how to exploit the bug (which i learned how to btw but CHOSE NOT TO). But given the fact that in order to get 4-5 covers of a specific and bonus hero'd 5* you would have to spend from your own monthly income (or lack thereof) a good amount, %-wise south of 500$.

Would you feel cheated? If i did that x50 times? Would you want the same people that announced that steps will be taken just brush this off under the rug?

This isn't a bump of a thread (and frankly i could care less if speaking Just and Right would get me banned from a forum). It is though a reminder to the people that get paid from this game that we care to have this game in good health. It is also a reminder to those that come to forums to get INFORMED on what happens.
What we are looking for is a way to get information from the developers. And a few conversations have been made by the way between members, just in case you decided to not read the comments.

Please stop by and say something. Say "Nothing will happen to those that used the exploit, but next time blahblahblah". Or say "I spoke with devs and blahblahblah".

They said they could identify the people who used the exploit, ToS says those people should be banned.  The people posting here are waiting for a resolution concerning the people who cheated.  I don't think this is out of line.  This is the second major exploit in the game (that I know of), and neither has been handled in a way that would dissuade cheaters from trying the next one.  In fact, it is almost being encouraged at this point.

They've confirmed that they knew about the cheating and can detect all that have. They've backed themselves into a corner IMO. We all want further details.

Well....since the other thread is creating a stir I would like to remind @Brigby about this one too that was in violation of the TOS and still nothing has been done even though many tickets submitted.  We really need to purge the cheaters from this game for an even playing field, and no I don't care if somebody spends more and has a stronger roster.  Just as long they are not using these exploits.

@Brigby Now that you have helped us out in understanding the situation in the much newer "cheating" thread are you able to let the forum community know what the consequences were for those that were identified as using the token pull exploit?

What possible reason could there be for players to contact D3 regarding people they suspect of cheating @Brigby?????

From all appearances absolutely nothing has been done in relation to your own last point. PLEASE let the community know if this is not the case as that is the whole point of people continuing this thread for 2 months+!!!!

If you haven't done anything which the whole community suspects can you understand the reaction people will likely have to your latest message???  Asking us to report cheaters when you already know who they are and have done nothing makes literally no sense at all?????

CS can just look at all the old tickets they've closed without follow up. You can look at your inbox for demands on follow ups on those tickets. 
And you can do what the above post reiterated that you said you could do.

Guys, don't jump all over Brigby. That's the standard response and the first line of defense. I take that as a reminder to continue bringing new cases to CS when you find them in game or people brag about exploiting the game on LINE. 

What I also believe is that Brigby is in the unenviable position of someone who knows there is an issue but is unable to provide details to the community. Either the developer won't tell him OR he isn't allowed to share the detail. 

Why not share those details? Because that info, detailing how widespread the cheat has been abused, and for how long it has been a neat shortcut to God-mode rosters, might shock and dishearten all of us. We might find that some of the most respected players in the game get purged. We might see alliances lose chunks of their teams or even drop off the map. 

It has to be made right somehow, but I don't know how they're going to pull that off considering the hole they've dug themselves. It is much more likely that we will see cl9 and cl10 to take our minds off it, while there are some modest rollbacks of the people that spent a ton of cash. Hey, Howard the Duck was in GotG2! New 5*!

What everyone wants to see is NOT going to happen. People that somehow have 200 5* bonus heroes while I have 4 are still spending enough to get those opportunities. They are buying constantly, they are feeding the beast, and that's what this game has evolved into.

Well, I know I will get into trouble for this due to be a very old post, but not sure if I truly care. Information was passed along by many people to CS and others about people that used this exploit.  No one, the we know of, that was reported was dealt with. All are still in game.  There was one guy, but he did it the old fashion hack way. 

We are going to be at a point very soon where 2 mid to low tier 5* are out of the latest tokens.  That will leave us with Spider Man and Dare Devil. Once Doc Ock is out of latest with the next 5*, who ever him or her will be.  Their will be a lot of people opening their hoards once Doc Ock is out. With this, will there be a new exploit that will happen?  If so, I fully expect players that never cheated to do so since this was never dealt with.  

Yes I am bringing up and old post and maybe I should let this go, But this was clear cheating and nobody, Customer Service/Demi/D3, has cared to ban the cheaters over this.  They might want us to forget about this, but the community doesn't forget. Hopefully I won't get banned, but we shall see.

I think you raise a really important point Rockett as it is clear the next major round of cheating is just on the horizon when OCK leaves. I think it is important that this is brought up again so that D3 can let us know how they will be preventing the exploit this time around....
