Sorted! And then switched back to my wifi network, and all is well. Weird. Thanks for the advice - I wouldn't have thought of that by myself. icon_e_biggrin.gif

A pretty significant nerf to his purple, so I expect we'll see migrations to 5/5/3.

And as soon as we all migrate to 5/5/3 they will wack red with the long awaited nerfed too.

No worries, thats not coming for another half a year given how things are currently going icon_e_biggrin.gif

Hah, talking about the Spidey nerfs reminded me of this post I made earlier: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4023&hilit=timeline#p65962. Looks like we're approaching a couple of months, so the nerfs should come anytime soon, right? icon_e_wink.gif
  • And now I can play the game, I have to say - +1 for the new Crit tiles! icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • Stupid stealth nerf to magneto? Boom goes the stop download.

Why must they add these things stealthily? Pretty uncool. Anyway, I still won't swap to a 5/5/3 unless they also removed the bonus swap damage from each level. If anything the damage from the extra levels is MORE important now...not less. It does effectively drop the damage, but only the max. I drop his purple at 7-8 often enough that this doesn't kill his purple too much...but it is going to be noticeable.
  • These crit tiles make me feel like I'm playing Bejewled, please make it stop...

What was wrong with the c anyway?

Bonus swap damage is still there.

Wait, did anyone notice when they joined the PvP event that if your scores are tied, the person who got the score first is now ranked higher than you? That wasn't a thing before this patch, right?

Pretty sure I saw this yesterday during my shieldbro push. I tied a guy who was shielded and was below him rather than above.

Strange, I wonder when this change was added: I remember complaints in the past asking for this very change.
  • Seems like something that would only be a data push, rankings are all server side anyways. Just which one which one?

I don't think it's fair to peg this as a stealth-nerf -- it's really just a bug fix. Mags is still as awesome as ever. I agree it would have been nice to have been notified, but a lot of people probably weren't aware of the issue in the first place.
  • Big fan of moving down the pve rewards screen with a flick. That manual drag+opening covers twice on the way down got old by the 2nd time.
  • One thing I've noticed that is slightly negative:

Previously having your own name and alliance name highlighted in yellow on the leaderboard was good.
Now that it's back to white, it makes it slightly less easy to immediately see your score.
Not a big deal as it's essentially in the same spot, but I preferred the old yellow, highlighted, instant recognition system.

Yeah, this has been annoying me, as well. What's odd is that the alliance name shows up in yellow and then if you switch back to your player rank from the alliance rank, then the player rank is back to yellow. But most of the time, it's the plain old white.

    Ah, you're right.
If you check Player Rank first they appear white. If you check Alliance Rank first they appear yellow.
    Bug I guess.
  • -1 for the new crit tiles. They blend in too much now. The old ones really stood out so you didn't have to go looking for them.

I would argue that any change that lowers a character's viability is a Nerf, so while you can label it a stealth big fix...its still a nerf to the character as well. Would it not be considered a Nerf if tomorrow obw black didn't double dip on strike tiles because they finally fixed a mechanic they have stated wasn't suppose to be in there?

Regardless, of course you are right...and its not the biggest deal either as you get his purple off once..maybe twice a match tops. The fix will only affect maybe 1 out of every 5 times you use it and probably only make a real difference 1/10 times. It's a nerf, but his blue is still his real calling card imo. Playing buffed lvl 75 thor (lvl 130 or so after buff) made me realize this even more as I was basically going for 6 blue to use as a crit/ap builder for thor every match (or maybe it means thor is too strong...either way). The purple was only used randomly or if I got a big purple cascade. No matter what they do,ahs will be great as long as his blue stays in tact.

Updating now, I just Didnt want to mess with changes in the middle of an event. I don't even care about it being fixed, its just irritating that it wasn't part of the bug fix section (though ice said was an oversight...but that doesn't make it any more acceptable really) as you should know what you are downloading sin e its optional for the first day or two.

well OBW doesn't explicitly state how it handles strike tiles so matters would be slightly different. In any case, I don't believe the nerf/bugfix/adjustment/whatever is critical as my mags still seems to make plenty of damage (truth be told, I wasn't even aware of this icon_e_smile.gif ). I certainly will stick with 5/3/5

But yeah, it should have been part of the preview thread from the beginning.
