    Yeah I was lurking below top 10 bc I only played a little during lunch and break. Won a defense which put me into top 10. Just looking for a good score but don't necessarily need IW.

    Yeah saw you in iso8 too. Guess we have same sleep patterns.

    Ya I work early 7AM and usually get some MPQ in before people get in, and play some when I get home. Plus sparsely throughout the day. I can budget time for tourney end times, my job is very flexible most days.

    Don't exactly need the IW either but a few weeks ago I realized "why am I content getting top 5 and letting these two star teams take first, what am I doing?" So I literally got 9 four star covers over the last 3 weeks. Two were from Simulator tokens though but I'm super happy with that progress. Its like a shiny thing too look at but not play with. Unless you are walkyourpath, then IW is 179.

    What's the best offensive and defensive teams for this event?
    I really like Patch, OBW & Hood for defense and Patch, Pyslocke and Cmags for offense

    I went with Patch, Punisher and OBW. Tried to switch OBW for Hood, but it didn't work. Pretty simple tactic:
    1. hoard AP - green, red, black
    2. keep on stealing
    3. launch all at once.

    Berzerker Rage + Molotov + Espionage = a lot of damage. A LOT.

    I assume you are talking about using Espionage to get blacks. That only works if your Punisher scores lower on black than OBW. He hits 40 points or above for a black match beginning at level 75, while max OBW gets 39 for black. So I don't see OBW's espionage being particularly useful if your Punisher is leveled enough for his Molotov to do significant damage.

    I keep forgetting there is this new events forum. I landed some bracket in this event! Surround by scavengers, shield folk and tacos the top 10 might be tough I feel like every time I look someone else is shooting up from no where into the top 10

    Well, I ended up in a bracket with three other of y'all's guys. Someone needs to explain to the team that when you try to metagame the best time joining PVP events that doesn't mean everyone does it at the same time. icon_e_smile.gif

    How is Max doing btw? My interest in Sepultura gone dry once I heard Nation (I find new vocalist a mumbler) and in Soulfly after Primitive.

    Nope. Blue and Purple. Boosted Wolvies (both) deal too much match dmg, so it's good that Frank is tanking at least this colour.

    Well maybe not, but one thing that I realised while cyling through my personal MMR hell just now, is that if everyone in your MMR range is in the same alliance apart from one or two, then the choice of who to attack becomes pretty straightforward. I don't begrudge the idea of SHIELD getting the most hardcore players on the forums but it really does encourage anti competitive cartel like behaviour since you're not attacking each other and in that sense, helping each other up the ranks.

    Anyway, MMR hell was SHIELD, SHIELD, SHIELD and random whom I attacked earlier so I ended up picking Jozier because he was using Spider-Man. :p

    That was followed by shielding and going phew!

    I can't actually believe I held out on levelling patch for this long because I believed the negative effects of using his green and red meant that they were too situational! So I got him to lvl 115 and rocking a 5/5/3 build and he's crushing the opposition on offense along with a lvl 141 5/5/3 IM40 and a lvl 120 5/2/5 CMags.

    You only need 5 blue to get going with that composition, but if you can hold off till you get 9 green all the better as it's more or less game over at that point. If the map is dry, 10 yellows for IM's battery or 10 pinks for CMags are also both potentially game ending. Awesomesauce!

    For defense it doesn't really matter - a maxed Patch will obliterate you no matter what.

    Having said that, I'm running maxed Patch / 115 Black Panther / 105 Hood and that seems to scare away the zombie horde at least.
    Now once we're talking fellow crazies, of course all bets are off.

    I should be set for top 5 at the very least with 917, unless there's one of the usual suspects lurking outside of my top 10.

    I don't know about that, Repulsor is 3559 unbuffed at lvl 141 so it's pretty decent either way. And if IM knocks himself out after using his yellow, Patch will almost certainly go mental on the opposition with Best there is. On defense, you're more likely to attack Magneto first anyway and he's comparatively not squishy compared to OBW and would be tougher opposition if he had 5 in red compared with the 2 in my current build,

    edit: also substitute IM40 with BP for quite a tanky team with rainbow coverage.

    I'll report back on how max Patches, Mags and 128 Panther do on defense.

    No attacks on my way up to 800 and the only person I skipped was mischiefmaker. I hate the node system. Normally I would have saved him for the end just to give him a nice retaliation but couldn't with this set-up.

    entropic, if you want the green baglady I won't challenge you for it, unless of course we need the alliance points.
