As far as I can tell, the 10-pack of covers connected to this event give "an increased chance at Patch/X-Force" rather than either being guaranteed, but there isn't a linked page that gives the probabilities. (The base token is any 2* or Patch or X-Force.) I thought that was odd.

Does anyone remember if previous versions of the Triple Edged token had a guaranteed Patch or X-Force in the 10-pack?
IIRC it gave a guaranted Patch. I'm not sure bout the X-Force.

Anyway, I pulled Yellow Patch from the tourney token, which makes my respec complete - Patch_the_Goon_Killer 535.

In my bracket Excel from DeadpoolsTacos is already shielded at 903pts. How the hell did he do this is beyond my imagination. Nice MMR I guess...

That score makes no sense with two days to go in the tourney.
Why would I want to get over 900 already, just so I have to use 600 HP to shield through to the end? o_o

Maybe he has hp coming out of his ears and so doesn't mind spending if it means securing pts for his alliance. Adding alliances has definitely made people push a lot harder from what I've seen.
  • Well excel is running away with it. 977 now I am in third with just under 500 but I won't be making any major moves until the last day. But if one member is spending hp so that his alliance can benefit that is commendable.

It's a very demanding bracket. You, Excel and 4 of the scAvengers (hooray for group coordination!), all aiming at top5 at least.

I want this IW... it's gonna be a really interesting bracket. icon_twisted.gif
  • I wonder why they didn't adapt their Divine tournament nodes to the Best there is. Divine v1.0 had several nodes, and each node had a locked divine character. Divine v2.0 now has 3 nodes, and the center character selection is locked to Divine characters only. They should be able to do the same for xforce/patch/aswolv. Maybe next time.

Dumb question, but you can only really use your best Wolverine in this tourney, right?

For example, my A. Wolverine is maxed, but my Patch is only LV 40, so it wouldn't make any sense to do the nodes where he is required because then I would be vulnerable to a retaliation, right? Same goes for my X-Force as well, I assume.

Yes, they unfortunately reverted to this fixed layout instead of changing it like the Divine. You definitely want only use the ** node and forced to skip retals placed on other nodes. The tournament uses your last winning team for beating so if you actually win with low patch others will beat that team -- but you can limit it to really short time if instantly play another game with **.
  • I have seed teams on my non patch nodes -. -

    Sigh
  • I forgot about Punisher's Retribution being bad for my lvl 282 Patch's health. I think I might avoid High lvl Punishers and Patches. Other than that. Everyone will feel the wrath of Patch.

I gave a match away last nght because I forgot to plug my phone in to charge. Whoops. Seeing the screen go blank mid match is always disheartening. I was going to play the event for a little while, but that error on my part just sucked the drive outta me.

Use the Patch node until it stops giving you seed teams, then quickly do matches in the other two and come back and finish one with Patch.

You think that's bad? Some crazy was shielded in first place with 73 points when I joined. Who shields at 73 points?? That guy must be flushing money down the toilet with wheelbarrows at that rate.

Maybe it's some poor newbie who hasn't found the forums. The first time I used shields in a tourney (twice at that!), I failed hilariously. No shielding with 70 pts but the worst timing possible.

Rajjeq, did you just join a bracket? Because I just saw someone shielded at 74 points and really don't want to believe there's more than one person out there who's doing that...

He worked hard for those 73 points!
  • I wonder if it's somebody who didn't understand how shields work who got to #1 and thought that the shields would keep him there.

Yup got the same thing in my bracket. Got dave cazz shielded at 850 points while im in fifth at 450. And I specifically tried to wait a little longer so that I wouldn't get anyone I recognized and have a chance at first! Oh well I should hold onto top 5 and get my three cap covers regardless.
  • I am not aiming for first because IW doesn't bother me but if the alliance needs to have the points am pushing those last hours I have **** loads of boosts left over retired and new soya be time to bring me out for quick kills.

The first time I used shields I thought you could keep attacking while you were shielded. If it's his first time shielding, it's easy to not fully grasp how they work.

another possibility could be that he has some things coming up in his real life that wont allow him to play much over the rest of the tourney...so he just grinds up as far as he can as early as he can and sheilds it up. 600 hp for 2 lazy caps is not a terrible investment.

    go tacos!
