Thanks, moose. Although I have another post for recruiting solely, I put the link in my signature so there's no need to bump this one. icon_e_biggrin.gif Now, when I post in other forums, there's a little more exposure.

On another note, reading forums and found an alternative to the way I use Patch-CMags. Sounds just as good.

    IceIX post and explanation. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=10735

Is it just me, or does anyone else see this as a knee-jerk reaction by the devs to compensate for the recent true healing debacle?

I imagine someone at D3 saying something to the effect of "Player-base perception is that we ruined the game by breaking character healing? Screw it, increase everybody's health pool. Problem solved..." icon_lol.gif

Nah, I think this is a matter of people not being able to use 3* characters until they have a ton of covers. Now they will be more usable earlier on. It's a good change to help people diversify their roster.

I wonder if it'll really make a difference since all the other characters are getting a bump up too. Won't the 3*s be at about the same relative strength?
  • The 2 stars are getting a bump too, but only 9 levels, versus 25 for 3 stars. It will be interesting to se the true balance, and to understand when a 3 star becomes viable, but I do think it will be faster than it currently is. May only need about 6-7 covers to be usable rather than 9-10. Also, people that are running 1 stars could use a 3 star almost immediately, since they start at 40 now.
  • In theory it sounds like a pretty good change. we will just wait and see if it "works as intended" icon_e_smile.gif

  • Bump ba dump.

Just wanted to get this chat rolling again. So, another high note for my weekend, I just adopted a dog. Pretty pumped about that.

On a more related note, how does everyone feel about starting to try out Line. It could be a nice change from the in-game chat, and give everyone a chance to talk individually if they wanted to.

I'm for it. Already started researching it but haven't downloaded it. You need a mobile phone because it ties down to the phone number. But once you have an account, you can move the account over to PC. It does not work on multiple devices so you must decide whether you want it on phone or PC. Tablet is not supported (although I read that they can sign up via Facebook for tablets so unsure why there's inconsistencies).

Looking at it now in the Windows Marketplace. Why do i have the feeling that my teenage daughters could probably school me on this app already? LOL

Was wondering if you guys could throw some opinions my way.

My current Punisher build is 4/4/5. With the last PVP I have my 5th green cover to bump it up to the generally preferred 3/5/5 build (MOAR STRIKE TILES!!!!), but I'm worried about the fact that I already rely heavily on prioritizing green to my heavy hitters when dealing damage (Hulk, Patch, etc.).

Loki is my only other decent-level character (@89) that uses black, so I'm thinking maybe I should hold out for another black Punisher cover for 5/3/5 to reduce the Molotov countdown.

    Thoughts?

I'm curious as well about Punisher. I have 5/3/5. I don't use him regularly yet because I think at 3 green it's too weak. But when I get more green, questionable as to whether I dump black or red and to what eventual build.
  • I would be all for it. The social aspect of this game is big part of it to me, I would enjoy it. And like I said on the in game chat, if we found another brother/sister alliance that wanted to go in on it, the Line app does a good job of organizing the different groups. That's how the big dogs do it like the X-men alliances.

One thing i can say for certain is that his red covers should be maxed. Retribution is too damn powerful to give up when facing crazy-high level opponents in PVE events.

Agreed Broken. His red is awesome for high level PvE. It is also nice if you are going against a high HP character, like Sentry, Hulk, Thor. Being to do a 3800 attack for 8 red ap on hulk is nice.

As for the green/black dilemma, I think the green is a no brainer. For you, it is tough since your other two big characters use green, but this should always take precedent over Hulks green. His third strike tile will make up for the hulks 1300+ attack in 3 turns, if not less. But, Patch is different. The problem with Patch though, is it can be suicide without the right team-up, mainly cMags. The main benefit of Punishers Black is the initial hit to all enemies, and that doesn't change from 3 to 5. Just the actual attack tile strength, and the timer.

Additionally, the tile strength doesn't matter much, if you have those strike tiles out. The benefit of those tiles going off, is to set off the strike tiles again.

Personally, I've been using cMags and Patch a lot, and like that better than punisher on the attack, but punisher is great on defense as he is pretty idiot proof, with low costs. Those strike tiles will take down a match, while the attack tiles needs a slightly longer time to truly be effective. I am a big believer that 3/5/5 is his best build. I used him for a long time, as he was my 2nd maxed 3*

Sounds good. I think I need to establish a new team pairing and character builds guide. I'll think of format and see how we can all contribute.
  • I'll gladly contribute to the team up guide. I have been reading a lot of the forums since the start of all of this, and have played with a lot of different character combos, since I am starting to have more and more maxed 3*s. One of the things I always loved about Punisher is he can compliment just about any character. He doesn't take much strategy to use, so the computer uses him well. Then you have random good team ups like Patch & cMags, Patch & Loki, LDaken & Thor, Hood and anyone. When you can get characters that work really well together, matches become so much easier.
