    I remember I used to challenge myself by using the miniature version but winning anyway. Then many years went by and I tried the same thing and got absolutely demolished. Apparently time was not kind to my Super Mario Kart playing skills. I think the newer versions are just much easier or something. I'd probably go get the new one if I even had the console it comes out on (I'm assuming it's WiiU or whatever, I only have a Wii that I never play).

    This was a really good team effort and hopefully we are back on track now. It was pleasing that this was achieved with Lavs and Dhaden being busy and not able to get their usual scores. I would like to welcome Sapphire to the team who put up a nice score.

    Gamer confession, I have never really been into Nintendo. They weren't as popular over here as they were over there so I guess I didn't have the link to it in my childhood. It was a Spectrum 16K which started me off gaming and console wise it was Master System and then Megadrive (Genesis).

    That was a totally English sounding system - Sinclair Spectrum. You can actually picture it wearing a bowler.

    Regarding me:

    I have been absolutely horrid at PvP this season. Last season I faced almost entirely 85X3 teams until I hit ~700 but so far this season I face nothing but 141x3 opponents from the first fight onward and unfortunately my 141 Thor + OBW combo just doesn't hold up well against high HP opponents. On top of that, I made the mistake of leveling my LazyCap to 141 only to find out he's just not that great on my team. I finished off my L.Daken and Punisher last week so I'm hoping I'll be able to actually stand up to the endless stream of Patch + C. Mags + Uber. Leveled Featured Character.

    All of this in combination from just being a lot less active overall due to RL stuff has made me really look bad in relation to all of you guys in PvE and heavily in PvP. Things are settling down some, and I'm hoping to get my office all set tonight so I should be a lot more consistent overall.

    As for the Starfall event and my ultra horrendous score, I was at a bachelor party all day for one of my great friends and got home with 1 hour before both the PvEs and PvPs ended and I had to make a choice. I could really use BP covers so I decided to the PvE. Feel pretty bad about not helping out to get the Alliance cover, but as I said, hopefully I'll be able to be more consistent very soon.

    So anyways, my apologies team! And thanks for carrying some of my weight for me over the past few weeks, I really appreciate it.

    I too had about an hour yesterday before the events ended and I was like dang, this is ridiculous ... how am i going to juggle both the PVE and PVP? Ended up doing poorly in both ...
    But honestly, meh! This is a game after all, and RL is RL (in caps!) for a reason icon_lol.gif

    We finished 61st in Cage Match, a good effort and the alliance score was up on the last few PVPs with the exception of Fresh Cut.

    Squall13 has been removed (low scores & not involved on chat) from the alliance and replaced with CeeEssGee. Hopefully this will be the last change that we have to make for a while.

    Sentry covers are next up in Predator and Prey so I expect that one to be pretty competitive.

    Hey guys,

    I'm finding more and more that I just can't play this game casually. Yesterday I woke up early to hit my simulator hard essential nodes before work, came home extra early for lunch in order to do nodes in simulator normal, and then cut short going out for a friend's birthday party to come home and grind all the nodes. I know I could just play less, but I don't think that's me. Add on to that my MMR dictates that PvP is just a huge slog from the get go for every event and I realized the game has just turned from a fun past time into a second job.

    With a new house and plenty to do, my free time has become very precious. I just don't see a way for me to keep playing and find it enjoyable instead of seeming like a chore.

    Therefore I have decided to step away from the game completely. I'm calling it quits.

    I wish you all the best and have greatly enjoyed my time with you all. Building up from a dinky 12-15 person alliance into a perpetual top 50-100 team was a lot of fun. May your standard tokens bring you many 3* covers icon_e_smile.gif

    NOOOO DHaden!! icon_e_sad.gif Man, I absolutely HATE your departure sir... you're a good egg. I completely understand though... I've always, particularly lately (and publicly *lol*), felt self-applied pressure for feeling like I don't want to let the team down but having enough going on in life (work, family, etc.) that I have to rob Peter to pay Paul, so to speak, and thus have done similar things (I sat at my last family get-together trying to grind out a PVP, which kinda made me feel bad). So I understand completely... I wish you nothing but happy trails and plentiful ales sir. icon_e_smile.gif

    sigh. i think this sucks, though i completely understand. check in on us every once in a while. there could be a chance that D3P actually figures out how to balance the game instead of say potato.

    Yeah man, really sad to see you go, but life should always come first, so I don't doubt it's the right decision for you. We'll miss you, but good luck with all the other stuff you've got going on. Happy trails!

    This was our first event with Neodyminium as part of the alliance. Classic Mag covers are the prize for the second Starfall tournament and more grinding to be done in Thick as Thieves for Lazy Storm.

    With an epic push in the last 9 mins, i finished 3 fights and had 1 retaliation to bring me up to 699, and 50th place. 51st to 53rd tied at 697. If this is the new normal, I'm not sure I can take it.

    Nice, that must have been pretty tense. I was cruising until I got to 900, then walkyourpath and psykopathic appeared in my queue and I knew it was time to get my shield up.

    Must be nice...I can usually cruise up to ~800 before the attacks start rolling in, then it's a grind to get to 900 and then I feel like I have to shield cause the attacks just keep coming. I'm always amazed when I watch the scoreboad as someone goes unshielded from 800 to 1100. Don't get how they can make it that far without getting attacked a bunch of times for -30, -40, etc. like what happens to me. I guess they have a team that people don't want to attack as opposed to my Pun/OBW combo.

    I usually aim for 900 each PVP and then judge based on how many times I am being attacked just how much further I can push it. Over 800/900 is when I start yo-yoing, it can get frustrating at times getting hit for 30 or 40 when you are fighting fighting for 20 pts. Then I think well I was at 930 so I don't want to shield until I get back to something near that which can take a while. Some of it depends on how late in the day it is for me as well. Timing that shield is tricky, I have done it too soon at times (missed some LT covers) and left it too late at others. Still it's all part of the game and it beats the days when there were no shields.
