I think that is too much - if you just needed a couple of covers and you already had the daily reward covers then I would say go for it

If nothing else, go on ebay, costco, somewhere and buy an itunes card for 20% off first and save yourself some money.

I got 100 for 75 on ebay then and got my 26K HP for cheap.

Wanted to get everyone's opinion on leveling xforce. Have him covered at 5/5/3 and level 225.

Should I keep dumping any iso I earn into him and get him to 270? I have 8 other 3*'s maxed and several others (Psy, BP, Sentry, Col, DP, SheHulk, Falcon, HT) with at least 12 covers. He is so expensive to level at this point that I feel like I am doing a disservice to my roster by not leveling them.

Thanks as always for the opinions!
  • Is the other guy you use besides X Force level 166? If not sure get him to 166 but otherwise it's not like having more 166s cheering on the side is going to make your team stronger. I don't have the match damage memorized but if his green is higher than 79 then you might as well get him to 270. If not, there's some interesting interaction between keeping green as not your strongest color in mirror matches and that it lets you put someone in front of him for green (most likely Hulk). Or you can think about getting the featured character to around level 120 or so which slows down an opposing team's X Force as well as making your featured character somewhat useful, but that probably should come after X Force is maxed.
  • I voted yes, then read through the thread.

I plunked down HP to max my XF's covers out during the anniversary sale and to go with my already naturally maxed out CMags. I've never regretted it and for awhile it made playing the game way more fun. I became instantly able to compete and I even came in first for a PvP event (and won a now extraneous XF cover, how ironic).

These days I am feeling bored. XF being a 4* character is mildly OP and with CMags you can mete out some crazy cascades on (CMags red zaps all TU tiles, Surgical takes out all tiles of a one color, X-Force takes out another 15 tiles). The only PvP match-ups that I avoid involve Daken (because he is so annoying). Facing XF not a big deal because he is pretty bad on defense and it's easy to take him out.

For me spending the HP took me from being mildly frustrated (lack of progress) to mildly frustrated (lack of novelty). Pick your poison.

Usually pair him with Ld (maxed) or LThor (maxed). Steve, LD, CMag, Hood, Hulk, Pun, LThor and Patch are my other maxed 3*'s. And at 225 green match damage is 79, which is the same as Hulk so he doesn't stay behind.

the ISO to dmg ratio is not favorable on 4*'s, they are very solid and useable at the 200's in level, with your X-Force you basically will be raising his health more than his damage.

    Here's my ISO distribution process.

If featured PvP I pump him/her up 5 levels before start in not maxed
If featured PvE I pump each character up 1 level
If it's a character I want really maxed I will put excess in there, I never drop below 10,000 ISO ever
  • If he already has a higher match than Hulk (you might want to try a game in prologue to make sure) then you might as well max him out at least for PvP. For PvE it's hard to say because scaling is a mystery. Unless you've another character you plan on working on to replace one of your other 166s you might as well go for the immediate gain now rather than later. You don't get much out of levels to 270 but it's still better than not having those levels. If you don't have any immediate impact players, then having a level 270 instead of level 220 is still going to help you ever so slightly in PvP. Unless you're saving up for Thor or a future 4* a small gain now is better than a large gain later, especially when you're talking about 4*s that you may not even have covers for. Now if you happen to have Thor max covered already you probably should get her up to level 200 or so first over the last 50 levels of X Force, but I'm guessing this isn't the case here.

I have no personal plans to take XForce much above 200, if at all. I'm leveling him around 5 at a time trying to find a sweet spot with his health/regen/damage, where I can get maximum output with minimal effect on PvE scaling.

It is a mystery where that point is, but it's not a mystery that taking him to 270 borks your scaling relative to others. I personally want to avoid that, but some people don't care about PvE.

I regret taking him past 221, where hulk could tank green for him.

Thanks for the replies. Think I might hold off on him for a bit and dump iso in BP.
  • I've realized that for the bulk of the stuff I use him for, I don't have anyone tanking green. Never maxed icon_hulk.png , so he's getting green anyway. So I've been taking him and icon_thor.png up to prime numbers. She's 241 now, and I think he's 233. They'll both ultimately end up at 269 I think.

Forget Hulk, for me I love the fact that when my 221 X-Force is paired with an underleveled featured character, my opponent's X-Force gets my third character's highest color (usually yellow for Hood) instead of green if it somehow lucks into a Surgical Strike

I just have most usable 3* at around level 120 so they always get the the highest color because green is literally the worst color you could give to the opponent for Surgical Strike (combos by itself, regardless of who else is on the team). Of course, that gets pretty expensive after a while, and there are still lost causes like Dr. Octopus out there.
  • Eh. I'm just taking him to 270.
I know it begins to be a waste of ISO, but its more just for scare factor on defense.

If people see 166 hood 270 xforce, they'll usually just look for a non maxed team.

So if I had a 225 Xforce they'd say "eh. 25 points, no problem." if they see 270 with 25 points they'd probably look for an easier match.

Obviously if I'm a 35+ match, it won't deter them much. But it's those mid tier losses that pile up that really hurt you.

  • Xforce 270 is more impressive than a 220. ( for me they are quite the same) but people would prefer attack a 220 than a 270. Sure you lose tanking with hulk but force can heal himself.
