  • Scaling is ridiculous, at round 4 it is already impossible if you aren't already in deep 4* land.
Bad, first galactus kind of bad.

Been having good success with a strange team during Round 4 and Round 5:
Banner Hulk (with purple Transform to Hulk a must),
Rocket & Groot (for great healing and strong blue strike tiles)
Blade - this may be a surprise, but his colors tank well behind the other two for protection,
and his passive red strikes combined with black power and his heavy Attack purples make this team a winning combination.
The key to Blade is his black power... constant stealing of the enemy strongest color is fantastic (deny yellow to GG etc).
Banner's Hulk takes 'extra' turns and earns tons of additional damage per turn, then if Hulk gets downed, ensure you keep 10 green so he can easily transform back.
If you get into trouble R&G's 10 green can smash the board and can do significant damage if you have blue and red strikes everywhere.
Add a couple of boosts to get blue and maybe black powers sooner than matches can get them for you.

Round 6 is Old Man Logan, Phoenix, then Silver Surfer.

SS uses a 10 turn countdown time he fortifies every turn. When it reaches 0 he summons galactus and you lose instantly.

Why is Boss Jean's "strongest color" yellow, when her 3 ability colors are red, green, and purple? This doesn't occur for anyone else in the game.

Edit: Boss Surfer's strongest is yellow too...

Yeah, the boss mission at this point (round 6) is basically an exercise in getting my butt kicked. Who doesn't love getting hit for a MINIMUM of 950 HP when the AI makes a MATCH. Forget it when they actually hit you with a power...

I don't want to complain too bad. This event rained some much needed ISO, and I got several 4* covers from the Anniversary tokens. But there's nothing fun about playing this Boss Rush thing.

That is because all of the match damage is the same for the boss run. "Strongest color" is determined by the color with the highest match value. Apparently when all of them are the same then "strongest" just comes first on the list. It really forces you to use your surgical strikes carefully.

    BTW: 4 star.pngicon_wolverine.png , 3 star.pngicon_magneto.png and icon_ironfist.png with boosts is still working 5 matches in to round 6.

So does anyone have a team that reliably gets past Phoenix in round 6? So far my interactions with her have been: Enter her fight, she makes a bunch of red tokens, cascades a bunch, does her "I Am Phoenix" and downs on of my characters, then turns around and does her mind crush to down a second. I get one move, then she repeats and downs my last. Am I just playing bad, or is she crazy-go-nuts strong?

Pro-tip for Round 6: if you spam the board with special tiles during the OML wave, then Phoenix has a whole lot fewer places to convert red tiles (since she is only converting basic tiles). Slows her down considerably if she isn't creating 5-matches with her passive.

I've made it one time so far, using champed Kingpin, Ghost Rider and Prof. X. All 3 made it to the final wave with Silver Surfer but only my invisible Professor made it to the end. Then it was a race to down him with boosted special tiles before his countdown tile (which keeps getting fortified) goes off and Galactus ends everything. At one point I lost all my special tiles so I had to kick off a TU to get some more.

I'm able to consistently win round 6 with Kingpin/Cho/Cyclops (all champions).

The trick is to build your AP throughout the OML round and use predominantly match damage (plus Math!) to wear him down. Once you have around 30 AP each in black and green and OML is low enough that a single use of the 10+ TU AP mode of Cyclops's red will take him down, blast him to death. Then unload all your green on Phoenix. Use Kingpin's black once if needed. Then try and get out enough countdowns (Kingpin yellow) on the first round or two of Surfer to kill him with Kingpin's black.

You can't always get both Phoenix and Surfer without them going, but it's VASTLY superior to let Surfer take the turn than Phoenix. He's rough, but she's brutal.

Cho keeps a countdown tile out to juice up KP's black.
Cyclops's yellow will make team up matches also give you black AP.

Considering how awful OML is in round 5, it seems crazy the correct thing to do is take your time with him.

Something to keep in mind for the end of round 6 - fortify is susceptible to "removing" abilities like Jean Grey and Spider Woman's purple abilities.

If you have the spare AP, popping MoM on the 9th turn makes him start all over again.

Are you saying that scaling will go depending how you choose your team?

Nope. I'm saying that three one-star characters do very, very poorly against these bosses. icon_e_sad.gif

Would have done well in the last boss round with 3-star Cap, 3-star Cyclops and Kamala Khan...until Iron Man cascaded into six blue tiles in a row to power up his My Girl Friday. Even then, it would have been OK had OML not used his green ability to randomly hit my Cyclops twice in a row to take him down.

That round was enough to get me a token into the Anniversary Vault. The cover I got? A 3-star Cyclops. Just rub a little more salt into that wound...

Let's take a look at thst interview again where they said people like cap would be a good fit. Well in round 6 it is a bunch of tinykitty. I have wiped 5 times trying different teams. OML says hit random enemy but it is consistently doing AOE!!! What the tinykitty is that. The match damage alone is killing 4* with OML whatvthe tinykitty is that? I am whiling out hard with a championed OML and a level 420 SS what the tiny kitty is that. Why on earth do you think this is even remotely FUN!!!

    Tinykitty, Tinykitty, Tinykitty D3.

This is suppose to be a fun match 3 game not Nija guiden black

    Rant done for now

Don't know if the OML abilities have changed at higher levels, but in Round 4 (where I'm stuck right now), he did damage to a random character, and then the damage from the tiles he destroyed were done to the character in front. Not quite full team AOE, but still really annoying.

Finally hit round 7. Lvl 441 Hulk would have been easier, but the board sucked for me. Did get past him though. Right into a Surfer who completely washed me with match damage.

I beat round 5 once. I had Phoenix in second form and a ton of green AP somehow.

The bosses are at around the level of my strongest character, which is a lvl 452 Phoenix. My next highest level character is OML at 8 covers, then a bunch of maxed 4*s. It's too hard in my opinion.

3* Deadpool can nuke each wave but he's so fragile he can't last for 3 waves.

Boss Green Goblin can get messed up somehow. Maybe it's when one henchman is dead and the other is alive. He keeps trying to summon them again but it doesn't work.

Round 7, any idea on how to survive Banner? With 55k health, he will transform since he just floods the board with green...

    Red Hulk? Anything else?

I 2nd the question. Maybe I've been unlucky, but it seems impossible. I had 3 shots at rd7 this evening and was wiped by turn 3 or 4 each time almost exclusively with match damage. Hulk spams green, which usually gives him a match or two, then he takes his turn, which usually causes a cascade. I tried winfinite first (gsbw down by turn 3, winfinite broken) and a couple rounds of my stronger 4* teams that had gotten me through previous rounds. One time I survived long enough for him to hulk out, which felt like an achievement. I'm at a loss as to how I could possibly proceed.

OK anyone also had/seen strange points counting?
In round 7 full clear should be +45000
But it looks like I've got two times only ~20000-30000 (next time I'm noting numbers icon_evil.gif )
Like I would get credit only for 1/2 or maybe the same points I got in round 6...

I was using Hulkfinite*, maybe servers don't like 0,5h (and up!) rounds? icon_rolleyes.gificon_lol.gif

    *Incredibly slow and boring. icon_mad.gif
