Round 4, you have to combo them down hard. It's literally a matter of "Can you kill them before they make a move".

I got lucky with IF/SW/Kingpin, got enough yellow to pump out some goons and a lucky IF cascade got me to 24 black by the time OML came through.
Then I just fingered him to death

This Boss Rush anniversary is a huge failure.
    1) Our whole alliance looks forward to these (and it's one of the requirements for being in the alliance).
    2) The fact that PVE is not cumulative for the alliance is individual is extremely annoying. To have any chance of winning (at all) you need to play every round, every eight hours. That's insane. At least with a cumulative team play, if you couldn't play, you knew your alliance could carry you. Here it's all on you.
    3) The rewards for the higher alliances are pretty slim. Who is really going to compete for a Storm cover?
Same thing for alliance rewards. Not even worth struggling.
    4) Peggy rewards are good for levels 6 7 and 8.
    5) But the leveling is insane. We are a top 125+ Alliance. All of us are struggling to complete Level 4. I have a 2 useful 5 stars, OML and Phoenix. My level 4 bosses were high 300s. On level 4. To win a token. If this was this hard on level 7 or 8, I'd understand. Level 4. What is the point? When it gets so hard, it's not worth the effort. At all. If you are decimated, that's 3 top characters, that means if you don't want to spend $ on HP, you have to play the whole day, (see #2 above).
    6) This was still challenging at level 1 and 2. But almost nearly impossible, where 1 wrong move will kill a character, since Ultron bombs were 17K if not higher. There was no room for any failure. And it was level 4. To win a token where I'd likely win a 2 star.

Please redo this challenge. It can be great. But make the scaling based on reality.

Just made it through round 5. Seemed a heck of a lot easier than round 4. Not easy at all though.

    I used Champed XForce Wolvie, Champed Iron Fist, and Prof. X. I +2 blue/purp, +2 green/black, and +2 all.

The plan of attack was to hope for Black, Purple and Yellow heavy board. Get a purple match as soon as possible.

Iron Fist gets his pray on, drops loads of blacks, hopefully getting at least one of Prof. X's blue to trigger. After that, Wolverine should Surgical Strike the Yellows away. All 3 bosses will have yellow as their Strike color.

If Goblin calls on his goons, IGNORE THEM. Keep GG as your focus. The quicker he's gone, the quicker they go. This same process works in battle 2 with Cap as well. Just replace the word goons with Avengers.

The Old Man Logan battle is just a hair different. Since he doesn't heal (Thank Jeebus), use Prof. X as your pawn. He's gonna die quick, though. So use that time to get as many Pray/Surgical Strikes in as possible. With a little luck, you might get the Prof to use blue once or twice before he's down.

The only other advice for this team in this battle is to try to take out Goblin and Cap using an ability and not through match. This will allow you to get the first attack on Cap and Logan respectively.
This worked really well for Round 5 for me. Thanks for the advice!

Round 6 starts with OML - actually an improvement since he doesn't have heaps of AP. Then comes Phoenix, who spams red tiles all over the board and cause Cascades from hell. If you can take her out, along comes Silver Surfer, who puts down a 10-turn self-fortifying countdown that summons Galactus to use Cosmic Wrath. Fun times.

I thought this was going to be a normal alliance event where we work together to take down the boss. Placement rewards within the alliance makes sense that way. This isolated competition between alliance members is my big problem with it. I like the scaling for the mission nodes, but the boss matches can get out of hand quickly. Anyways I got to round 5 mainly using X force wolverine, 4* cyclops and Winter Soldier (2/5/2) to try some AP denial. Might go back to Xforce Deadpool for some more damage.

Round 5, Ant-man is a king among kings. Captain's shield bash and Goblin bombs are quite generous in feeding strong tiles for Ant to steal away.

began a Round 4 boss wave with Rulk, Chulk, Hood.

Round 1 v. Goblin = Hood goes down, Chulk goes down, Rulk toughs it out. Use Hammer & Anvil on Goblin and two Henchman, taking out one of the Henchman. Goblin's Black passive states that if a minion goes down, Goblin takes damage. The Hammer & Anvil took out one minion, and Goblin has little health left, enough so that his Black passive suicides him. problem is, this leaves one minion. Problem is, his Black passive also states that if Goblin goes down, he takes his minions with him.

Yeah, I'm done with this event.

I have a fully champed 3* roster and six champed 4*s, and I'm getting utterly massacred in round 4 and now round 5 by GG. My last three attempts I got 1000, 300 and 6000 points. At this pace, it'll take me about 15 boss attempts just to finish r5, and I might not even finish round 6.

Why even bother? One bad cascade and your team is decimated. How is this fun?

Right. So the problem is that the AI can't take turns. The team I mentioned above can hopefully keep the board shake, cascade game going long enough to avoid AI turns. Last time I tried, based on a lucky match-5 start, I was able to KO GG before he made a move (heavy yellow board, started +2 B/U and got a match-5 pink with another 3 in cascade, surgical strike and we're done . . . clearly not repeatable). As a person with most 3 star.png champed and only two 4 star.png champs I don't think I can win by healing, preventing damage or stealing AP. So my route is turn denial (since we can't stun). I might get to the point where I have to spam icon_ironfist.png / icon_mystique.png / icon_quicksilver.png to avoid the AI turns. That will take forever to finish, but I don't see how I can let the AI get more than maybe 10 turns and still survive. This is very hard and while Peggy is the current 4 star.png to chase, I don't know if she is worth it.

Agree with the lack of good rewards.

Too difficult to get far enough to get the good stuff

    I just started Round 5.

I'm not having any fun, the rewards are inadequate, and I hate having my team wiped after every attempt.

Most likely done with this event unless the developers decide to implement a quick fix today.

Just made some calculations and looks like I might barely reach the first star.pngstar.png cover in the progression rewards... icon_eek.gif Every PVE I played this year, I've managed to get (or get close to) the 25 CP...

I'd already come the conclusion that this one isn't fun to play, but now I'm not even getting a decent reward out of it? 5 hours of play and I have earned less than in 15min of Lightning Round?! This Boss Rush isn't just bad, it's feckin' shite!

No he's saying he tried to beat the boss with 1-star Juggernaut, Iron Man and Storm.

I think i'm going to try Hood, IW, Chulk. Not very good damage but if I can get people invisible we might survive. Maybe Falcap instead of Hood to boost the protect tiles and speed up Chulk's passive. I dunno.

Just finished round 5, but I'm out of attempts. Will report back with who the fights are once I can go again.

Side note: I've been using Prof X, Quicksilver, and Mystique.

Hate that i have to lose every boss fight after round 3. However, i have been able to make it to round 5 despite losing almost every boss fight. Sucks though because the sweet cp would have been nice.

Trying to go all the way even if I lose. Got 50 tacos to draw health packs from. Let's see how far I get. At least I may get the mohawk covers as it looks like my alliance stopped playing already.

Using Wolverine, Daken, and loki. Many times have made it to old man logan and then been killed by him instantly.

The first set of missions brought me to round 3. And I'm not going to play any more. Scaling is insane. I have 3 star.png roster and facing bosses at level 344. And whom am I to use? 6 boosted 3 star.png heroes are icon_wolverine.pngicon_hulk.pngicon_doctordoom.pngicon_humantorch.pngicon_storm.pngicon_sentry.png Is it a joke? What team to make of them?
This Boss Russ is a piece of garbage.

    Round 6:

    Old Man Logan (lvl 388 : 36156 health : all matches 282)
    Phoenix (lvl 395 : 43594 health : all matches 298)
[worth noting that Rising Fire (passive) places 5 red tiles, then if redtile.png > 9 destroys all generating AP, meanwhile she has a 20 redtile.png nuke that takes out 4 AP in 3 Colors, Surgical Strike it is . . . but that won't work because yellow is her "strongest" color since all are 298 . . . sigh]
    Silver Surfer (lvl 395 : 38145 health : all matches 298)

Still am rolling with the same team, but I bumped the +2 B/U to +2 all. Made it through with Phoenix and SS not taking a turn, but it was incredibly lucky and required some tough strategic decisions. With one round done at ~180,000 points to go before I get the first Peggy (making my 3rd red) I don't know if I have another 6 fights like that in me.

Anyone got a decent team for Round 6?

I've been using Chulk/Kingpin/Hood, but round 2 Phoenix has been wrecking me. I've made it past her once to get to Silver Surfer, and finished him off pretty easily.
