  • Ugh... I hate these events with a passion. At least I have a decent BP.
I'm not too excited about Capmerica either, but I'll end up grinding it out anyway.
  • Well, I need some lazy thor covers and I wouldn't mind a couple extra cap 3* cap covers either, so looks like I'm in!

I can't help but I like the limited rooster idea. It brings a fresh wind into the normal game day. If you have a high level BP the whole thing should be relative easy. If not... better luck next try. icon_e_smile.gif

I need a few more LThor covers (1y/2g) and quite a few more LCap covers, so I'm in. I've got enough covers to bring BP up ~77 and Psy up ~115 and anything with M.Storm always gives you a chance. icon_cool.gif Wish they would've done another round of HT rewards before making him the only boosted hero.

I agree. It's just that M.Storm, A.Wolv, M.Hawk, and IM35 have been in the last couple heroic events too. Would be nice if they varied it more, but the 1* and 2* rosters are limited when you take out villains.

Then you add in a useless Bagman and only one buffed character that doesn't do decent damage with limited covers and you only have two unique heavy hitters to choose from.

But I agree with your post. They definitely need to limit their roosters. Their chickens are OUT. OF. CONTROL. icon_razz.gif
  • Well, rooster limiting is a no brainer. It always has and always should be one on one. None of these rooster "King of the Ring"s we hear so much about.

But I really dislike the severely limited rosters. It's good for people who happen to have those characters developed, but it's a huge disadvantage if you don't.

Wow, d3 is pushing lazyCap pretty hard. Full coverage give-away in three events all ending Sunday evening.

I could max cover him if I finish at least top 20 in normal Venom pve, top 100 in hard Venom pve and top 50 in DA pvp. And of course our alliance finishes in the top 100 in all the events. That seems fairly achievable.

My DA aren't very impressive, 85 ares, 33 moonstone, 15 ares, 14 daken, 1 venom. But I'm guessing a lot of people are going to be similarly limited.

    Good luck everyone!

I've had some pretty erratic token luck lately.

Haven't pulled a featured hero from an event token since psylocke which was a month or two back.

But I did have massive fortune with standards tokens a couple weeks ago when I pulled a couple blue hoods and a C.Mags cover. Now I only need two more blues to finish him off. Of course I've pulled a black hood last week and another black hood this week. Already have him at 3 and don't really see a use other than level cap to use them, so I cashed them in for ISO. On a plus note I finally got two red A.Wolverines since his nerf, so now I've got him respec'ed to 5/5/3.
  • It's always a great feeling to get a 3* from a standard token. I hadn't gotten a 3* from any tokens for a while, then yesterday I got a red Human Torch from the progression token of his event, and I got a blue Hood from a standard token. There's droughts and spurts, but I was excited that those are two good covers that I only had one of each for(of course, HT just came out)

So for the current events (both venom heroic pve's & first avenger pvp), I only need a blue lazy cap and a red hulk. I probably won't be pushing that hard, but I'll still put up a decent chunk of points to help the alliance out. Looks like quite a few of you could use some black hulk covers and I'm sure most of us still need 1 more blue lazy cap. Any preference on whether we should focus on normal or deadly? I know we got back into the top 100 in deadly during the first round, but i think we cut it pretty close. Just wondering if we should maybe focus our efforts on one over the other to make sure we get that last lazy cap w/o sweating it out wednesday morning.
  • Glad to see a little discussion of the last event. I don't think we should overreact to our less than stellar performance - it seems like D3 intentionally set up the event to screw over teams in our situation, with the event tailormade for low-level and new players and only the strongest rosters of 141 BP/Psylocke/HT able to power through the scaling. Once we clear through RD2 of this event, hopefully we can get back to our winning ways.

As far as picking and choosing in this event, I'm probably going to try to do better in the deadly round and PVP, but hopefully will manage to place in the cover range for all. I can't wait for this event to be over, even though I've pulled three 4 star covers from tokens since it started. If 4 stars become usable (or I pump enough ISO into IW), that might eventually work out.
  • I actually think deadly is a little less competitive, a little less crowded. I know my rubberbanding took off on normal much faster than on deadly.

I'm actually pretty satisfied, even happy maybe, with our results, especially considering we've got two more available chances to get another blue lcap. And I agree this event seems skewed towards new-ish players. I'm kind of fine with that though, more PvP fodder!! icon_twisted.gif

Agreed on the competition, my scaling was pretty steady across both events with ~+30 differential. I had an easier time maintaining my ranking in deadly.

As an aside, my lcap is only level 51, buffed to 77 (i think) and with a fully covered red, he's awesome in the pvp. I might not have to sink anymore ISO in him to finish where i want in this event.
  • I really don't have much motivation to play either events but I'll definitely help out however I can. I wouldn't worry about PvP since it seems historically we've done fairly well, usually top 50. My MMR is so low right now that I'm seeing teams of lvl 15 and less in Shield training, so I can power through PvP on my end.

The PvE, ugh. I only played a total of four hours for both at the end of the event and it was still a chore (still got #11 on both of them). Playing less and getting hurt helped keep my scaling down so most of my nodes in both events didn't increase and were under lvl 100. I actually made most of my progress with 85 Wolv, 50 Storm, and 15 Torch. Torch's black hit for about 500 dmg every turn with a few strike tiles out. In any case, I would recommend we concentrate on Deadly because it's not as contentious (even though there are plenty of tales of newbies running over that competition too).
  • I know no one is excited about this heroic event because of the roster and the rewards, but we do need to place well in at least one of the events for our last blue cap. Anyone who's picking one event to hit hard, make sure to do the deadly one. I know that's tough for some people, but as an alliance, we're better suited for the higher level nodes than most other alliances.

As far as PvP goes; this is a pretty standard event, and we should have no trouble placing in the top 50. With that said, we still need to make an effort. Personally, I can't wait to dust off my go to characters and take out my frustration from the last PvP. icon_twisted.gif
  • Once again, we are recruiting for a vacant spot.
  • To any of you still checking this thread; We have a couple of people applying to join and I welcome any feedback or suggestions. You can find them in our chat, check their rosters, poke and prod them, whatever. But I'd like to pick one before this PvP ends at noon.
  • Looks like another recruiting score. In the update that keeps chats private it will be a little tougher to recruit but so far we've had good luck in winnowing out the few bad apples and our alliance seems to be getting stronger every day. Thanks again for taking the lead on all this CK
  • Hey, just so everyone knows, I cannot write in the in-game chat. No idea why, but I've sent an e-mail to support. I'm using an old iPod touch, 4th gen.

I'm not ignoring everyone, I just can't talk right now for some reason. Sorry for seeming to be rude.

  • Well, brother John Galt has left us to take a break from MPQ, and he will be missed.
So that means we get to recruit again. If anyone knows of anyone or has any input, I'm open to suggestions.
If someone not in SKYNET is reading this and has a high level 3* roster, you can PM me or join us in game to chat with us.
