I really want my first red hulk, although that green patch sure would be useful too. Doubt I can push that high though. At least I'm highly likely to get that last black hulk because of our alliance!
I really lack a useful blue/purple on my *** roster. Keep falling back on OBW.0 -

This is where I'm at right now. I love using OBW, but my MMR right now shows me almost nothing but 3x141s. I can beat those teams, but when everyone else in my MMR is looking to hit someone, a 2* OBW looks like a big bullseye.
I've got enough HP now for a couple of covers. I've never bought covers with HP, but I thought about bumping my CMags into a usable level. I'd just really prefer to see what his best setup is after he's "funballanced". Same thing about Spiderman, but my Spidey is no where near usable right now.0 -

Yeah, my spider-man is only a couple covers away from usable, which I'd consider buying at this point if it weren't for being worried about what will happen when that nerf hammer hits.0 -

Nice job, man! This was the second event I've taken first place and hit over 900 as well (had to brag to you guys as my girlfriend cares not ).
These hulk covers are going to be in high demand. I was thinking of going for the 1100 progression, but I'm worried about the single digit point wins and 50 point losses when you're that high.
Any strategies for getting to 1100 without using a boatload of shields?
I don't have a beastly team, so the only way I got up that high was because my MMR is somewhat manageable (tanking in the SHIELD PvE helped with that) and playing at an off time. Honestly, I don't think it's very feasible to try to hit 1100 if the community isn't going for it as a whole. Reason being, once you get up over 900, your pool of players becomes a lot smaller to others with that high ranking. At the end of the Hood event, I only had three enemy player options. So if there's not really many big fish above you, it'll be a tough climb.0 -
Hey Knock3r! We are in the same bracket for "Unstable Iso-8". You're running about 6th right now with 4704 points. I'm only 26th with 4188 right now. Not too sure I want run up my scaling this early in the event.0

Ha, the odds. So if you can hold down #1 spot at the end of this, I'll hold down #2.
Yea, I totally agree with you. I'm trying to not grind the nodes, but I have time right now so I'm just took each one down to below 100 pts and will hold steady from here. I would love to keep a manageable scale, but my Patch, OBW and CMags team is blowing through these grunts pretty quickly.0 -
Just pulled a yellow cap from a free token! Now I got a boosted level cap with a 2/1/1 build.0

Conundrum Kid:
I know we want to make sure that we don't release good players and active forum members, but it's also disappointing grinding away only to see that half the team isn't playing. Yesterday, I thought our poor ranking may have been because players were waiting on optimal times to join, but with only 4 hours left, we've only got 5600 points (I've chipped in 826 of those) and sitting dangerously in 48th.
Any thoughts on how we can strike a balance between fun and competitive?
There's 18 hours left, and the top 100 alliances get Hulk covers. So I wouldn't get too worried.
I'm a little concerned about having 5600 points between 20 members, but some people can get good points by joining a bracket near the end and pushing hard.
Either way, there's not much we can do right now to evaluate how everyone's doing. Hopefully we'll have more options, tools, and communication in the near future. In game chat should be happening soon at least.
For the time being, just do the best you can. We've been around top ten for most of the events, and I think that's reasonable to expect from our alliance, but we might be up or down on any given day.
As it stands, the only way we could change up our roster is to base it only on active forum users or only accept people with a certain level roster. Neither of those are necessarily very good indicators of event contribution, and I don't want to start kicking people right now based on those kinds of arbitrary measurements.
We can all contribute our points, and that's the best that any of us can do right now. I've discussed roster selection with the commanders, and we just don't have the tools right now to know if people are active or pulling their weight.
Long story short. We want to be competitive, but we'll be competitive with the roster that we have for right now.
edit: I know some alliances have required their members to take screenshots to prove their scores. That's not us. I play for fun, and I wouldn't want to be in an alliance that made me jump through hoops just for their approval. I can't speak for everyone though. If that's were we as a group want to take this alliance, we could consider it... but I vote no.0 -

I was just over 500 unshielded, taken a few hits today that have knocked me down to ~465. I'll probably make a push tonight and shield up as this event ends during work hours for me. I'm hoping to eclipse 800 myself as I'd really like a red Hulk cover.0 -

Currently with 550 trying to get to 700 plus at end will push in a few hours0

Anyways, I understand that it's a difficult balance to strike, and certainly wasn't calling for immediate action. More of a consensus to a long-term alliance approach to ensure that we're competitive while not being overbearing. Once in-game chat pops up, maybe we do roll-calls for events and if you're inactive for x number of events, you're warned and then booted.
I agree with this suggestion0 -
I was able to push up to 868 last night before I started to run into all heavy hitters. Good enough for 2nd in my bracket and still holding up with less than an hour to go.Conundrum Kid wrote:I know some alliances have required their members to take screenshots to prove their scores. I vote no as well. I would prefer not to feel pressured to reach a certain score per event or whatever. But I also realize I'm pretty fortunate to be part of a strong alliance, so whatever the group wants I'll go along with (or exit gracefully but sadly if I can't make the necessary commitment).
One thing that I've seen suggested in other threads that seems feasible is to just track your alliance's roster (covers & levels) every "X" weeks. As long as it changes, you know that member is active. It allows members to not be uber-competitive in each and every event, but it should bring to light if someone has gone dormant.0 -
I like the attitudes here - activity is good (and necessary) and the ultimate goal of being in an alliance, but life happens, you know? It's good to have a little flexibility and forgiveness. Perhaps we can consider trying to identify priorities for our efforts? In general I can play at least an hour a day on my commute to and from work and I was top in my bracket for the Simulator and am currently fighting for the top spot in Unstable ISO-8, but sometimes I can be much more active and sometimes I am traveling and have to scramble to score a daily reward. If we could come to an agreement like "focus on Unstable ISO-8, even if your Fearless defenders rank slips" that might be helpful so people aren't spreading themselves thin. On the other hand, we've had not problems getting relatively good alliance rankings so far, so maybe not fixing what ain't broken is the better course. Regardless, I want those Human Torch covers!0

I ended up top 5 in the Fearless event even though I didn't really need any Hulk covers. Personally I think the Hulk will remain competitively irrelevant so long as Spidey's around, which is sad to see for the Littlecutegreendude.
I have to admit this Unholy ISO event is throwing me off the loop completely and I don't know how to optimize my play time. It's funny how the removal of sub-events changes the whole structure of PvE. I think part of it is the mental fact that there's no direct countdown to refer to for refreshes and how wacky rubberbanding will be for this event.0 -
Hey everyone, Steve from Vancouver here. Day 142 and still no IW covers.
I play on an iPod so I usually don't post in the forums, but I do check them regularly.
Currently making the painful transition from 2* chars to 3*'s. I still don't have a good replacement for OBW though, since my Spidey has only 2 covers. I usually go with Punisher 128/OBCW 85/ and IM40 102.
Thanks for letting me in the Alliance, we seem quite strong. I am a daily player and really enjoy the game. If there is anything I can do to help the alliance, feel free to ask.0
