I have to admit this Unholy ISO event is throwing me off the loop completely and I don't know how to optimize my play time. I think part of it is the mental fact that there's no direct countdown to refer to for refreshes and how wacky rubberbanding will be for this event.
Well it seems like it's going to be a 12 hour refresh, and every 24 hours swap nodes. So, you should be good if you can just play the stacks any time, then replay them between 12 hours later and before the nodes switch. I think they switch at noon (EST) so, I'll play in the evening and try to play in the morning before noon. Then everything restarts at noon. With the rubber banding, I don't think there's really an optimal time to play until right before the event ends.Crazyfists wrote:Hey everyone, Steve from Vancouver here. The last PVP event was rough. I was in a tough bracket. I ended with 797 points with 4 hours of sleep last night to eke out a red hulk. I think this had to do with my timing. I immediately jumped in when it opened. So far I think I have had at least top 10 on the last 7 PVPs. I do notice that it is easier if you wait to join the event.
So I will be joining this latest PVP prob tomorrow sometime.0 -
There's like a 0.8142% benefit to starting a PvP event early. You don't have as many big fish targets to get large points off of and you spend more time and shields defending your score. I usually hold off on PvP until about 12 hours before end, during off-hours to avoid retaliations and the mad dash of players at the end. I only use one or two shields and recoup most of the cost with all the rewards.0

Just ground down every stack to under 100. Good enough for 7th. I'm figuring the noon/midnight cycle is the way to go. BTW, it's still early but 4th place in the alliance ranks!0 -
Looks like they're giving us a lot of good stuff in this update. We'll get to know more about our members, and even talk to them0

Yea, that's the thing that scares me. I just took #1 in my bracket before the "round" end, and there wasn't much of a fight. I'd hate to dedicate so much effort just to find out everyone else in my bracket is just going to rubberband it in at the end of the event.0 -

My success in that PvP event will rely solely upon my A. Wolverine (**). Patch and X-Force are not notable.
I just grinded up for the token last night. hooray purple bag-man?
Knock3r is rocking the PvE. This was 20 minutes before this cycle ends. I think he made it pretty close to 18k.

Hahaha, don't you remember our original agreement? You're supposed to hold down #1, and I'll take #2. Don't worry, I'll slingshot you into first. Shake n' bake, man.0 -

Brilliant reference. And good teaming up! I'm just shy of 18K myself, waiting to hit the new nodes and keep us in the money0 -
I ended up top 5 in most recent PVP. I kind of forget to check forums. Sorry about that. I'm very active, just not great about tracking the group on forums.0

Conundrum Kid is holding it down in my bracket at #1 with 447 pts! Way to go. I'll be joining you up there soon.
Edit: I'm right behind you at #3 now. Are you chasing first place? I'm okay with 2-5, but I'd like to build more of a lead behind me preferably.0 -

It's always great to see Skynet representing at that top of our brackets.
I just shielded right behind you at #3. I'll check back later to make sure I'm top ten, but I got too much going on to chase that top spot tonight. Godspeed my friend.0 -
I have about 380 points right now, planning on getting to around 600 by tourney end. I got a Patch green at the 300 level bringing me to 5 covers. Initially I wasn't that thrilled, I wanted a red or yellow being at 4/3/3. But after getting used to 5 green it is not bad at all definitely helpful in this tourney.0

33,541 right now holding out in 5 the conundrum kids in 2nd. Hopefully they bump up the ISO or no one will get close to getting all the progression awards.0

Holding down 1st now . I guess I'll try to win this one if I can keep up with the refreshes. I don't care too much about 4* Wolverine, but his yellow is one of the few covers I don't have any of (along with Ragnarok red and Spidey's blue... yeah).
And yes, no one is going to get the higher progression rewards. I think the developers are still trying to hammer out how many points the event gives versus how much it takes to get the rewards. Sometimes it's fairly easy to get all the rewards, and sometimes it's downright impossible. It's just one of those things.0 -
The progression rewards are so far out of reach I had to double check to make sure they weren't alliance progression rewards. So far we seem to be in pretty good shape alliance-wise, everybody must want those human torch covers. I don't know if I have an abnormal bracket or not but I'm constantly fluctuating between top 1-2 and mid 60s, currently at 23 and moving up. Should be ready to grind it out near the end
I don't have a great GSBW so I'm not sure how we'll I'll be able to do in the PvP tourney, but I hope I can get some mmr luck and score some more psylocke covers. I'll probably try to join late and cross my fingers on that one.0
