Heathensauce checking in. Took me a while to get my forum account sorted out so I could post. Glad I can be part of this crew, was looking for a chill group that wasn't too concerned with roster strength as I'm still transitioning to 2 stars. I'm a daily player, usually end up in the 50-100 ranks, though simulator's been good to me so far with my only decent 3* and my best 2* getting the big buffs, so looking to take at least top 10 in both the round 1 subs. Just sprung for some hp as I needed some roster room, and added another alliance spot with the leftover. Cheers.

Sometimes i hate this game. I managed to finish second in my bracket and the three Highly trained were:

green AWolvie (already maxed)
red mHawk (maxed)
black Bullseye (now maxed but imho useless)

The new round doesen't look good for me as many nodes have a Wolvie variant and buffed AWolvie kept me afloat until now.

I need more diversity and fast so if anyone is looking for me I'll be over there at Nurgle's altar

I wish there was a way to share covers. I had to ditch two red Psylockes and a Red Hulk. I'm sure it's not something the devs would consider as it would reduce their revenue.

Also, thanks to all of you, we earned 3000 iso just for playing the first simulator rounds. I appreciate that very much.

And a way to trade covers within Alliances would be awesome. Nevermind we should be able to get rewards the way we share them with Facebook peeps. Great to see the group grow to 11, I've dropped way too much HP in the group already, so thanks to you guys who keep buying slots. I'll buy at least 2 more before we hit 20, but not for a little while.

In general, glad to have everyone enjoying themselves. If you need help with "who do I level" please ask, some of us have been around way too long and know the pitfalls of putting ISO behind the wrong horse.

Since you're offering, Black Panther or Psylocke? I have all of her covers, but I'm missing a few for BP.

I like both, and they have their uses. As we've also seen, they both get the buff love so it isn't a bad idea to keep them both up.

However... Black Panther's Black at 5 is flat devastating. I'd focus on him first, but only because of that Power. Depending on the rest of your roster, Psylocke's powers being so cheap might be a better fit. I'd still do BP first tho. I ran Spidey, Grey Widow and BP for a while last week. You are just chasing AOE death and stun lock. It is fun, and no enemy has too many hit points.

Psylocke works in place of BP there too. I guess it comes down to preference.

Not useless at all. It just highlights my thinking. I was leaning towards BP because I have Hulk at 100. He would be a nice tank for black matches. Plus, i think a high-level Hulk, BP, Spidey team would scare people off in PVP. Pretty good color coverage. I don't think Psylocke is as much of a deterrent.

Another question: I keep hearing that Classic Magneto is going to be nerfed. But, mine isn't leveled much. Can someone explain to me why he is so OP? I really like his blue and purple powers, but I don't see what is so devastating about either of them.

Couple reasons:
> His Red can get down to costing 2 AP, which is well below what they want powers to cost
> His blue, if the table lines up, can perpetuate itself almost infinitely at 5 Blue. It costs 5, if you can setup a 5 crit, you get to do it again... and again... and again
> His purple can kill anything in 1 shot if there is enough blue on the table, which again, his blue power can fuel. And it is dirt cheap for the potency

So yeah, he was on the funbalancing list when they came out with it post Ragnarok freak out. I stopped leveling him at 80 cause I'm skeered. Same with spidey. Course the argument for spidey (in my head anyway) is that with his blue at 5, it doesn't matter what level he is.

X-Force Wolverine and Modern Hawkeye are supposed to get funbalanced, which means powered up. The last two on that list were Spidey and Mags tho. This was ages ago, and we just have to wait to see what happens. Frankly, Mags Purple and Blue are two of the best powers in the game, and if you have the table setup, you can win in 2-3 turns, no matter what your opponent does.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like a 'wait and see' game for Mags. I don't want to spend any HP or ISO on him until we find out the damage.

What are the issues with M Hawkeye? I think he's a pretty useful character.

I will probably do the same. I think I'm going to wait to see what they do with Alliances on the next release before opening up one or two more slots.

Also, if you hadn't seen, the one star tourney is also alliance based. I'm Hood maxed, but we can certainly help out the others.

I've got the same leveling conundrums. I'm sitting on 215k ISO. Every time I think I'm sold on someone, I change my mind, they announce a funbalance, or a new character gets released. The problem I have now is a bunch of mid-tier 3 stars. I can hold my own when they are buffed, but when they aren't and I'm facing a bunch of 141's, I'm screwed. I always seem to fall back on my maxed 2 stars.

It's really depressing to know that in terms of ISO costs, you aren't even halfway done spending at level 100.

What are the issues with M Hawkeye? I think he's a pretty useful character.

Outside of not a lot of health, none really, he's going to get buffed we think. Funbalancing is maddening. I took a month break after the Rags debacle (watching the nerf bat hit CStorm, Venom, et al before that). It was refreshing, especially knowing I didn't have to go through all the scaling problems that made the other tourneys miserable. They've made good strides towards making it fun again, which has brought me back... for now

I'm sure others have thought of this, but wouldn't Doom be a huge asset to BP or Psylocke? Gather blues and blacks and turn the rest of the blue to black. I think I'm going to level Doom alongside my Paylocke and use Hulk for green and red. Flaws?

Battery powers are always useful for anyone strong in that color. I think if you pair him with BP, then BP's black is better for 12 AP. It does a lot of damage to everyone all at once. For Doom, the same AP will do a lot of damage to one person at a time for the rest of the match, but it's not a match-ender.

I'm not sure the difference between Psy's and Doom's. For 12 AP, Psy will get 2 one time hits with the initial blow, followed by 2 decent attack tiles. If Doom's 6 attack tiles outpace Psy's damage + 2 attack tiles within the first few matches, then I would say Doom is the winner between these two. I guess you have to consider you'll be firing off Psy's first hit as soon as you reach 6, so there is damage building up while you collect the next 6. The only disadvantage is that Psy puts down one tile that risk's being matched or blown off the board, while it's hard to get rid of all of Doom's.

But for sure, BP is the big winner in these 3. Just hope you have enough blue left on the board after matching it all to charge Doom, and that the blue is near black tiles for matching. Doom is deadly in the lighting rounds too, and with his health pool, you can't go wrong in leveling him.

I think the only thing they need to do to make Modern Hawkeye a lot more valuable is to allow him to select his countdown tile locations. Don't let him do it on anything but basic tiles of the correct color to keep from making it too strong, but as it is his powers are far too likely to be canceled during their countdowns. Magneto (Marvel Now) has random countdowns as well, but his are generally shorter timers so it's not as painful as it is with Hawkeye.

Also welcome to our newest members. Glad to have you, hope you like the fact that this is about as stern as I'm going to get with the whole "hey please play so we all get prizes" part... We are all just trying to have fun here.

Also... since I know more than a few of you appreciate a good read here's a list of current goodies:

One last recommendation: If you haven't read the 5-years-later Legion of Super Heroes, it is excellent. It is also a major influence on Hickman, so take a look.

I'll continue plugging away at the events, but I'm sitting in the top 20 in both. I've got 15645 in easy and 19805 in hard mode. How many points does everyone else have? I want to make sure I'm pulling my weight.
