Seriously, though, 5/5/3 is the recommended and most popular build for her, but I swear, I cast mStorm's red power once, maybe twice, and then never get to use it again in a match because barely any environment tiles drop after that. I did put her red at 4 so I could cast it once I made 2 red matches, but I get some good use out of Hailstorm in the occasional 1* tourney. It's a minority opinion but it works for me.

Yeah, I saw those people in the bracket... suddenly aiming for just top 10 seems like a good plan. Maybe alliance chat will help with the scheduling in brackets.

I used to have her at 5/5/3 but I kept running into the same problem where there is just not enough environment tiles on the board and when I would fight against a mStorm that had 5 in her black I would always seem to lose if she was paired with oBW.

Think I might open another slot eventually to get a second one of her at 5/5/3 or 5/4/4 but for now I want one of every char before I start to duplicate any.

In the Wolverine PVP i was at over 600 and first was at 700 shielded earlier today going to check it out before going to bed and hopefully I will be able to stay in the top 5 for tomorrow but would be awesome if I could get my first win.

I've noticed many people make similar comments. Your confusion stems from a change in the way we tank now. Tanking used to mean you get a bunch of points in a tourney you don't care about and then throw a match with a bad team and get hit a lot. This is no longer the optimal way to tank.

These days people go into shield training and continuously retreat, killing their weaker characters or their whole roster. Mmr seems to be calculated based on win/lose ratio and a retreat is a loss. Mmr carries over between different pvp events, so it is now possible to maul a bunch of teams in a tourney you want to win and then go to shield training and tank. You keep all your hard earned points while still being able to face low level teams. Best of all you are less likely to face retaliations because low level teams can't beat many high level teams.

Anyway retreat tanking is more beneficial for people having trouble placing top 10 or 2* rosters who get hit a lot. It doesn't really change how thing are for those who are only deciding whether to aim for top 1 placement.

I can't seem to win a match. Everyone I use is getting pummeled. It seems every time the AI takes a turn, they get all the cascades. At the rate I'm going, I think bagman could kill me singlehandedly.

5 hits while I was sleeping, 2 win and 3 lose, - 74 points. Dont like these retaliation nodes where I have to fight clintman's 286 Patch with my 52 X-Force.

Atm I'm 4th with 820 points, Jozier 3rd, clintman 2nd and Shamusyeah 1st at 1000+ points. Going to reach 900 points for the HP and end of deal. Farewell Susan, time to hit Red ISO and say hi to your brother.

Moral

I have a 2 point and 3 point retaliation occupying my xforce and astonishing nodes, and there they will sit.

Managed to fight 5 straight matches to stay within one battle of 700, then finally broke through. I'll take my 24 hour shield and bank on that getting the two covers. First is at 763 and I just don't want a 4* badly enough to risk getting pounded some more.

I won't have much time tonight tonight so I decided to push last night and buy a 24-hr shield. I was juuust about to hit 800 when I lost an extremely close match due to my own bad play (miscalculated how much damage a string of special attacks and strike tiles would do, leaving Hulk alive with a sliver of health and a half dozen anger tiles -ouch!), and got hit for a couple defensive losses at the same time, back down to 719 - isn't that always the way?

I had her at 5/4/4 for a long time, but I was finally convinced to go 5/5/3. On the occasions I use her in PvE, being able to use it after one 5-match, or a 3-match+critical red match, or when it costs 5, you use it twice, and you still have enough AP to use Retribution when you wouldn't otherwise, outweighs the extra 24 damage you get taking Hailstorm from 3->4

I get this, but the 5-red initial match scenario doesn't come up often enough for me to change my mind. Pretty much the only time I ever use Hailstorm is in the 1* tourney, but when I do and can fill up the board with her attack tiles, it makes a difference.

Such a fun bracket we're in. I'm at 605 points now. I'll try to climb up to 700 or 800 points a little later, but all I want is top 10 for the 2 Cap covers.

Unstable ISO is very competitive in my bracket. Nobody has out of sight scores, but between 8pm last night and the rotation I just finished I went from 18th to 124th to 3rd.

This is me. I keep bouncing between top 20 and 150-200. I'm only playing twice a day -- once at night, once at around 11am or so (before the nodes change).

I have to apologize to you guys in advance. I'm going on vacation April 11-21 so I will have limited access to internet/MPQ, hope my absence doesn't affect our alliance rankings too much!

Yep, seems like they're switching things up. The First Avenger tournament hasn't started yet, either, and those usually start at 12pm EST.

Ditto mags, top 25 to 250 and back again. I don't even think I could play each mission more than twice. The points awarded vs the difficulty of opponent isn't worth it.

Darn tried to push to 1100 for that red patch to finish him. Got close to 1000 then got hit twice. BOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Score 1 for **** work schedule. Did all nodes at least 1 hour before noon. I have time for the late night refresh to get them done again.

Also took Monday off since I write my own schedule (within guidelines).

I got crushed in this event from last night through most of today. There's more activity today which is nice to see...I shielded at 525 before I left work because I figured I'd get hit hard again. I'm just hoping for a top 10 finish. I pumped more ISO and a green cover into Patch, he's up to 102 and a 2-4-4 build...He's been incredibly useful these past few days

As for the Cap event, I will not be doing much in that one.

There appear to be at least 2 or 3 brackets of death in this tournament, because I think Kikujiro's and my bracket definitely qualifies. Bacon, does 525 still get you in the top ten? Because right now #10 in my bracket is 769.

I have a fully covered GSBW so I won't be doing much in the Cap tournament, either. I joined tonight and will play during the weekend for ISO, then try to get a good amount of points at the end for the alliance.
