A buffed 2 star wolvie goes a long way in this event. The problem is you will only be fighting on one node, but a buffed astonishing wolvie will balance that out. If you have a stockpile of ISO, pump it into Astonishing Wolverine.

I'm working on leveling Patch, he's at 87 now and 92 is his current max. I'm probably gong to buy a green cover so I can keep on leveling him up. I may level up Sex Wolf to level 50 just because...got my 2nd green cover for him from the day 150 reward today.
  • Holy **** lvl 230 daken and bullseye in the same node. F that noise!!!

    Probably my least favorite combination.

Or Spidey. icon_e_smile.gif Man, I hate their passives so much. And they're with a Thug, too, who was the most annoying goon to deal with in the last round.

Just joined a Best There Is bracket and who do I see in the top ten but Kikujiro. I also see some crazy person who put up a shield at 74 points. icon_e_confused.gif

Buffed 2 star wolverine still piles on the hurt. Maxed with 5 red covers he'll do over 4k. He's buffed in a lot of events.
  • Looks like level Astonishing it is then. I don't think I can get it maxed since I only have ~20k atm.

So I have a bit of a dilemma. I don't have a good Wolfie for the Wolfie tourney so my options are:

    1. Level Patch: 3/1/2 max 53, currently at 28.
    2. Level Astonishing: fully covered, currently at 24.
    3. Level neither and try to go along without.

    Thoughts?

    Leaning towards 3.

I agree with the others, level Astonishing Wolvie. Despite the nerf some months back, he's still quite effective, as despite the complaints that he got "****," you still see him widely used in PvP. When he's buffed at max level, that 4K red damage has been quite the game saver for me.

I have a few questions about pvp and the lingo I see everyone using.

So what is a seed team and what is a tank team? Also what team do you have on defense? Is it the last team you fought with or when people retaliate do they fight whatever team you fought them with. Last what teams would you guys recommend I should use so that I don't get beat on defense so often?

My roster is currently the following.

Classic Storm, Thor, Wolverine, Daken, Iron Man (Model 35), Storm (modern), Black Widow (modern), Classic Hawkeye, Juggernut, Venom are all maxed.
Marvel Now Mag 82 - Working on maxing him next
Thor Modern - 66 capped until trained
Original Black Widow - 61 capped until trained
Punisher - 51 can take him to 89 currently
Moonstone - 46 capped until trained
Psylocke - 41 capped until trained
Cap America Modern - 37 can take him to 69
Hawkeye Modern - 32 capped until trained
Spiderman Bagman - 31 can take him to 69
Daredevil - 30 capped until trained
    Wolverine X-Force - 30 capped until trained
Ares - 29 capped until trained
Hood - 28 capped until trained
Black Panther - 20 can take him to 53
Hulk - 20 can take him to 30
Wolverine Patch - 15 can take him to 20
Cap America (Steve Rogers) - 15 can take him to 18
Iron Man (Model 40) - 15 can take him to 18
Doctor Doom - 15 capped until trained
Bullseye - 8 capped until trained.

Plans right now are to finish training Mag to 85 then start on Punisher till I can't level him anymore but have considered leveling Spidey Bagman or even Black Panther.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Don't spread out your ISO too much. Try to focus on a main 3-man team, and trickle in a 4th for backup.

From the look of your team, I'd say level up Punisher.

OBW and Punisher are good together. Punisher will dish all the damage, and OBW will heal and steal. Thor makes a good 3rd, and wolverine is a good backup.

As for the rest, I wouldn't push anyone past level 50 unless you plan on maxing them out. Having them at level 50 is nice for boosted tournaments. Marvel Now Magneto is pretty nice to have, definitely. You're definitely on that edge where you're starting to transition to 3*, but not quite there yet because of cover availability.

Skip bagman. He's worthless. Black Panther is definitely a good go (gives you a black and yellow skill, and the black skill mixes with Punisher's strike tiles nicely).

A seed team is essentially a Bot. They were created by the devs. Some of them are Pyromatic, Bacon Magic, Battle Angel 1 (I've lost to this team) hipedudeglasses, and higuyzimdoom or something like that

Tank teams are teams that you put into an event. They are low leveled characters that you use to tank or lower your MMR. You do this by beating an opponent with your tank team (ex. Lvl 6 bagman, Daken, and Thor). Now anytime an opponent sees your team in queue, they will be beating up on your tank team. Netting you losses and lowering your MMR.

As for your roster...leveling up Punisher is your best bet, for a gruff loner, he is friendly with pretty much every character. And yes skip Bagman, in fact, never mention him again icon_e_biggrin.gif

See, somehow I knew I'd be beaten to the punch on the explanation of seed/tank teams.

Anyway, I agree with Katai on who to level. Punisher is a good all-around character. OBW is great, definitely level her when you get more covers. Don't level Bagman.

You may want to hold off on leveling any 3* characters until you get one of them fully covered or almost fully covered. Then depending on whether you get, say, Punisher covers or Black Panther covers first, you'll have the ISO available to level them up.

As for a good defensive team, well, I'm no expert, but AP stealers like OBW can really mess a team up. So can mStorm when paired with the right characters.

Well top 5 of my current patch bracket contains me, walkyourpath and brady28. I feel sorry for everyone else who needs to fight for the top spots. Maybe they don't want the IW? icon_e_smile.gif

    EDIT: And Evilsongoku, frowny face.

If there is anything I left out feel free to add it. I just happened to be on the forum at the time of that post. I initially didn't want to respond because I didn't want to explain it wrong. I think I got the gist of it though....

Completely off topic. I am a n avid lover of beer and I finally found the newest Game of Thrones beer (Fire & Blood) at a local 6 pack shop tonight. Bonus!

Alucard, as they said, Punisher all the way.

When you have him at 89, save your ISO until you get more Original Black Widow covers. Imo get rid of 2 purple covers and respec her at 3/5/5, with Punisher and her black maxed to exploit strike tiles (same with Wolverine and Daken) and her blue to stretch your game sessions, they will be the foundations of your team until you develop more 3 stars, even then.

Also, you should try to respec your M. Storm to 5/5/3, she's very handy in some PVE nasty fights.

We should be fine, you first me second, or the opposite xD But yeah, we must schedule better ... I mean, we're in the same bracket as Shamusyeah, clintman, mischiefmaker, Rajj and some others tough opponents. No pain, no gain icon_razz.gif

As of now I am in a pretty low scoring bracket. The leader is at 525 which seems a little low. I haven't seen anyone from the forum in the bracket either...so far so good, but I've just been putzing around.

My extremely stacked bracket has the same cap on points. We are all holding hands at the moment. Let others grind the points and take them tonight/tomorrow.

EDIT: And we are currently 9th, heh. I know we normally end top 10 in pretty much everything but it usually doesn't happen until the end. Although we are taking a beating in the new pve. I take some kind of extreme personal satisfaction to see a StarCraft alliance on the leaderboards all the time. It really is the small things that make everything worth it, to me anyways. Thanks for being awesome everyone.

No, don't listen, stay on the dark side with me and keep your mStorm at 5/3/5 or 5/4/4. icon_twisted.gif

Seriously, though, 5/5/3 is the recommended and most popular build for her, but I swear, I cast mStorm's red power once, maybe twice, and then never get to use it again in a match because barely any environment tiles drop after that. I did put her red at 4 so I could cast it once I made 2 red matches, but I get some good use out of Hailstorm in the occasional 1* tourney. It's a minority opinion but it works for me.

Yeah, I saw those people in the bracket... suddenly aiming for just top 10 seems like a good plan. icon_e_wink.gif Maybe alliance chat will help with the scheduling in brackets.

I am now in 2nd place with 563 points. First has a nice lead at 698 (or around there) I'd like to get to 600 and then figure it out from there. It looks like I'll end up placing pretty decently in this event. I hate seeing 281 Patch's though...they force me to use Spider-Man.

UPDATE: Came out of a battle at 11:19pm to see -80. Ouch. Doesn't look like I'll be getting to 600 tonight.
