Come on, people, we must coordinate entering.... better.

I'm also in that same bracket.
Sorry, but as a spectator, this is just hilarious. It reminds me of those Three Stooges scenes where the Stooges try to walk through the same doorway at the same time, and get stuck. icon_lol.gif
Well, to be fair, Emeryt did say he wanted to see us all in the "top10 personal" of the tournament. Coordination worked out just fine, it's the communication part I'm somewhat worried about. Come on guys, let's subnurgate to explify the filmaling.

Let's do what??? icon_e_confused.gif I think i need to use Google Translator for that sentence.

I think The Hood is badass. The full blues is key of course, but you really need is a couple champs to do the damage...and The Hood's activated colors are Yellow and Black which seem to be 2 of the least used colors so you really don't have to worry about him stomping on toes. He has become my favorite support.

IME he's quite good even with 3-4 blue covers as the last colors he steals for himself and are the least interesting ones. I like him lot too, and in LR obviously he is the support man.

BTW I think I kinda overtanked myself with the spare LRs -- before going to work harvested the red iso and jumped into the LR still going -- practically all offers were pure * teams. Wonder if it will translate to the wolvie tournament and how fast it corrects out. It's not that fun stopmping im35/mbw teams with 120+ fellers.

    Here's where you're objectively incorrect. It's quite fun mulching 1* teams with L100+s. icon_lol.gif
  • I GIVE UP TRYING TO PLACE IN LR. STILL NO LUCK I WON 16 PTS ONLY TO LOSE 64. PLAY A TEAM OF 141 PUNISHER 69 C MAGS AND SPIDEY AND STILL CAN'T GET AHEAD
  • so far i have managed to be in 1st position at the beginning of each reset in the unstable ISO event. if i can maintain that goal i should be good with a stupid midnight finish
  • Just got my 5th blue CMags from last LR. So happy icon_e_biggrin.gif . Need aroud 35k Iso to lvl him up now icon_eek.gif (knowing that he will be nerfed... it's thrilling. Wait, thrilling? I mean, it's crazy)

For the Iso-8 event. It seems that no matter if you're 1st or 500th right now. It all comes down to the very last two hours of the 7th day. By far the worst PvE tournament. Less rewards, less tactics, less fun.

And nice features coming up with next patch, btw.

In LRs, you're better off running at least 2 featured characters (double the health, double the tile damage and ability damage). 3 leveled featured characters is just a huge scarecrow, most other players won't even touch you. Punisher + Spidey are featured in Hero LRs, so expect better luck there.
Probably your MMR is a bit too high, too, so consider tanking a bit before LRs (helps a lot, believe me, especially if you're only trying to place top 25 - top 50).
  • ok i freakin love the super-patch/hulk combo in the best there is. it doesn't really even matter who the 3rd person is.

the problem with me running the featured characters is that they're all too. that's the conundrum. i needs covers to raise my guys to compete in LR but i can win covers because they're low.

    +1

With decent MMR tanking, I can very reliably place in Top 25 with one low-level featured character and a max-2* team. The Loki LR, esp., is trivial.

so what's the best way to tank? how do you know if it's working? how long until you see results?

^ Choose the least competitive rounds (villain rounds are Rags, Doom and Loki, especially Rags & Loki I believe), prepare a bit (tank, be ready to join ASAP); farm seed teams (every last of them) for ISO and pts. Quite often fighting seed teams only gives you 250 pts or close to it, which is enough for top 50 more often than not. I earned most of my villain covers that way, pulling them from Diabolical tokens. With luck you can easily have 3-4 new villain covers a day.

As for tanking, it's all quite mysterious but if you do tank at least a bit (retreat in Shield training a dozen times with least used characters), after farming seed teams in an event you'll notice that your matchups are quite manageable. You can tank all the way down the ladder that you start seeing 1* teams, but I wouldn't recommend tanking so hard, it leaves you with opponents that aren't worth many pts, so you're better off with opponents slightly weaker or your level.

Edit: oh yeah and always tank before an event or, if you're already seeing hard matchups, tank in another event (Shield training), relaunch the game or skip your opponents until you start seeing adequate matchups.

    Yep.

Sometimes, seed teams will hide behind human teams near the beginning, so don't be afraid to skip a team or two just to play the odds. With fight completion rewards being 70/140 Iso, that 20 Iso is absolutely negligible when it can make the difference between finishing a match faster with full health, vs. getting caught in a slog and finishing with 2/3 health.
  • TBTI:

    #1 Excel 1064pts (!!!!)
    #2 Emeryt 706 shielded
    #3 ChopsB 678

So please remember - as of today, we are far from being friendly to DeadpoolTacos Alliance icon_twisted.gif

EDIT: ChopsB just dropped to 637pts. Unfortunately his team isn't too scary on defence.

    EDIT2: ChopsB is climbing. 663pts. icon_e_smile.gif

Anyway, I don't know if I will make another push. #1 seems to be out of reach. Excel unshielded a moment ago, he must've won 1 fight and shield again.

    EDIT3: ChopsB 688.

Reminder - be sure to finish TBTI in the top10. Rogers is good. Phantron claims that he's even OP and I tend to agree. We need those covers. Each and every one of You need those covers.

    ---

    Unstable ISO:

It looks like all nodes disappear after 24hrs, but some do it at noon, while others at midnight (for simplicity sake). Be sure to grind as late as possible. As close to the reset as You're able to. We're currently jumping in the rankings from #2 to even #30, but obviously last hours will be most important.
  • Captain's red is hard to use in PvP (just because almost every character that's good has a cheaper red) but he's going to be pretty much unstoppable in PvE.

Hood stealing yellow/black on his last cover used to be not that important until Black Panther and Thor came around. Yellow matters a lot now since Thor + The Hood is a very good combo in general and you definitely want those extra yellows.
  • I climbed to 460 -- little over my mark just could not resist another match offered for 31 pts -- and it sux bigtime that devs didn't convert it like DC to uniform nodes... so I'm practically restricted to just one. I some of you in t5 and phantron little over me. Current t10 has 3 guys with just 85th and a fourth with 141 but no patch so there can be good place for all of us.

Guess it will be some shooting in the final hours -- hopefuly ~800 is enough for t10.

Btw excel went over 1100, not sure if he needed the red patch.

That event is completely nuts with this rubberband ****. To a level maybe even jozier would admit for a change if could take his pride aside. icon_e_wink.gif

The points are completely meaningless and everyone's position keeps jojoing by hundreds. Probably those who just enter on the last day still could have a good shot at t10 even in the first bracket. And all the enemies are completely boring.

Torch would have deserved something better.

In other news, FYI I will not be around during next week, as I will be drinking pints of fine dark ale in Bristol at the ACCU conference http://accu.org/index.php/conferences/a ... rence_2014 (any chance to meet some of you there?).

Guess as I leave the launch Ep4.5 for Lazy Daken following the crazy rash we had lately, too bad for me. But probably they'll allow another shot in PVP on the week after like we have now for captain. As it's just 2 covers possibly they even leave alliance out this time or the cover prize -- that would be really outraging to leave individual play with a single.

If you want to pick a replacement to my slot just tell me, it's okay.

Yeah my subpar patch is making tbti not the most fun tournament. However between the pve and this it's been a good excuse to start levelling him and he's moderately usable now. Shielded a little under 500 atm will make a few shield and pushes tonight and hopefully get enough for the top 10. Although my bracket seems much easier than the one you guys are in.

Lol, then why did you give me 21 points via a defensive win? icon_e_biggrin.gif
