And especially the 2nd blue makes Cap leave the protect tile
Guess most of use will not have too hard time with close-to-max buffed patch and good support people.
Be alert of red fighting the ** version, it bites really hard for just 12. (Actually for a final push or shield-jump it may work better with stockpiled start.)0 -
ok. what is the secret to making top 25 in the LR. i've been playing for a while and can never get these covers. i grind and grind but never get anywhere. i've only made top 50 twice. i get to around 300 pts then the flood gates open and i can't net any points i fight for 16 while losing 40. so what is the secret?
i even boosted like a maniac. burned more ISO and HP than i would have liked but i really need c. mag covers0 -
finished FD with 888 for a much needed green x-force and red hulk! looks like I'll be pumping iso into patch for BTI
also, congrats em on becoming mod! much deserved!0 -
One of the biggest keys to success in LRs is to pick the ones you want and plan ahead. It requires time and preparation, in the form of working on support chars and selective tanking.
Which brings me to the support chars. C.Mag rounds can be pretty competitive so you'll need two other high chars to pair with your C.Mag both to ease your fights and act as deterents. Obviously, the best ones would be high level villains....but most of those arent terribly useful outside LR so a lot of people neglect them so you may have to work with 2* Thor, OBW or just about any high 3*. I would recommend focusing on Dr D as a way to break into LRs as he is an absolute beast in them. Not sure why, but he was also one of the easiest for me to get covered. From there, do what you can to get a second high villain (I like Rag, but he is hard to get red for).
Once you have two high villains to pair with C.Mag youre ready to start "gaming" the LRs. Since you want C.Mag, start from there and work back to which rounds you need to tank to have a small boost in ease of fights. The order (currently) is:
Hood
Doctor Doom
Loki
Magneto
Ragnarok
I would recommend tanking DD and Loki, but tanking isnt as beneficial in LRs due to the limited pool once you go past ~250 pts.
Then it just comes down to playing HARD, FAST and luck.....lots of luck as to who sees you and whether they decide to skip.
Hope it helps!0 -

You need 2 things: a 100+ villain (preferably Mags) and tanking. Sure having more villains and good support helps more.
Tankimg, if you're neutral it's probably enough to get full use of the previous LR or two, the usual protocol planting a tank team plus do a dozen retreats for sure. If you're tanked really low you can play seed teams like 250. But it's not really necessary. However if don't get over 150-200 in first 15 minutes then you did something wrong. I think when I got the t8s I was over 250 at the 15 min mark every time.
From there you really just play like crazy, skip liberally to pick teams that are fastest to defeat and get you at least 10 pts -- over 20 preferred, but you can go with 15s if really play fast. If you play high-level boss the opponents with the 1-cover one will not likely to hit back (or will not win...)
T25 must be doable just with endurance. T8 requires luck -- and I was always shielding up for the last 5-8 minutes.
For me it took long time before I got anywhere so be patient and not despair, keep trying as you evolve your villains.
Also they say competitiveness is different by boss and time.0 -
Unfortunately I wasn't able to be around in the end of the event and finished just top 50 with around 500 points. But I got red hulk from standard token few hours earlier, so it's not so painful. Now Wolvie tournament. I really want new Capt., you can expect me to finish top 10. Just leveled my Patch to 141 (my first max level character, transfered from 1* to 2* and from 2* to 3* before maxing any other before ) and I like him very much with my 5 blue Spidey, especially with buff in PvE. And new PvP have even bigger buff so it will be great fun to play him.0

You'll hopefully be seeing me, I'm in your bracket
and Bee from shield, whoever He is.
Anyway, I'm shielded at #2 with 414pts. Beee is 417. Let all those retaliations come, then I will make another push.
As for Unstable ISO, I'll grind it in the morning, as I won't be able to be there near the end of current nodes.0 -
Magneto and The Hood are the strongest villians for purpose of advancing in LR, though The Hood isn't as intimidating as Dr. Doom or Ragnarok until he's at a high level, and you also need him with maxed out blue to be a threat.
Keep in mind that Magneto is awesome on offense but only so-so on defense, and vice versa for The Hood, so don't be afraid to attack a high level Magneto (but do avoid high level Hoods if at all possible). This is also why you want both so you got both offense and defense covered.
Shielding is a must unless you've done some amazing tanking so that nobody remotely as strong as you can attack you. I usually shield at around the 300 point range and that will usually be enough for a top 25 back when I still needed those covers, but the exact number you need varies greatly depending on time of the day or the villian involved.0 -
ARGH! Thank you Phantron. I forgot to mention that the biggest key to placing is playing in the "off" rounds that are the wee hours of the AM for PST/EST (since those have the larges concentration of players) and are also during the GMT-ish work day.0
-
+ to the LR stuff: shielding for the last few minutes IS important really. And forget last-minute attack from under shield.
If you're high people will cache you up and attack right at that time.
In minutes I'm getting #3 in hood. Was tempted to play on as I also have the lead cached for 30 pts. And could beat him in last minutes, all it takes pack up 6 or 9 purples to shoot with mags for good . Just seconds after I decided not to go got -18 on my shield.
... great, my last blue cover for Hood. And the 5th yellow for respec is coming in few days from daily supply.0 -

Come on, people, we must coordinate entering.... better.
I'm also in that same bracket.0 -
So, I have a healthy stock of Iso (pushing 150k) and not sure what to do with it.
I have:
Frank 3/5/5 at lvl 141
C.Mag 5/2/5 at lvl 128
IM40 5/5/3 at lvl 100
Spidey 3/5/5 at lvl 86
OBW 3/5/5 at lvl 85
TinyThor 3/5/5 at lvl 84
Ares 4/4/5 at lvl 83
Rag 4/5 at lvl 77
2*Wolv 5/5/3 at lvl 70
BWGS 5/3/5 at lvl 66
C.Storm 5/5/3 at lvl 55
Hood 3/5/2 at lvl 45
Psy 2/1/1 at lvl 20
FatThor 1/1/1 at lvl 20
Bruce 5/3/4 at lvl 15
DD 5/5 at lvl 15
Loki 5/5 at lvl 15
Patches 2/2/2 at lvl 15
BP 2/1/1 at lvl 15
Lazy CA 1/1/1 at lvl 15
BAG-MAN!!!! 4/5/1 at lvl .....6
I dont really like BWGS, not sold on Bruce and I dont have the covers for FatThor, Patches or BP......Since I dont really need any villain covers Im inclined not to boost Dr D or Hood (okay, maybe Hood).....Where should I spend it, or should I just hold it longer?0 -
Yep, probably sit on it, waiting covers.
I pushed Hood to 70 as he was boosted where I used him and that was enough. Plain 100-ish would be needed (3k HP) -- but only if/when you actually use him.0 -
I'm loving the hood he has been one of my favourites. I'd say he's well worth the cost to get up to 100.0
-
The Hood probably has extra value since he can help you in the LRs too. I find that The Hood, OBW, and Spiderman are roughly interchangeable as the support guy once your roster is strong enough and they all have their own strengths and weaknesses.0
-
I think The Hood is badass. The full blues is key of course, but you really need is a couple champs to do the damage...and The Hood's activated colors are Yellow and Black which seem to be 2 of the least used colors so you really don't have to worry about him stomping on toes. He has become my favorite support.0

Grinding Unstable ISO. Right now I'm #2 with 14660pts.
btw. new patch notes are up:IceIX wrote:As always, these Patch Notes are not necessarily complete and may change slightly before release.
Alliances-
- S.H.I.E.L.D. code hackers have subverted a portion of H.A.M.M.E.R. communications frequencies that have enabled them to allow Agents that are in Alliances to talk directly to one another. Alliance Chat may be accessed from within the Alliance tab.
- Alliance Leaderboards now occupy their own tab instead of using multiple taps to get there.
- S.H.I.E.L.D. has improved their Alliance member tracking technology and now allows members to view the individual Event scores within an Alliance.
- The top three Alliance players in an Event are indicated by trophies next to their names on the Alliance Leaderboards. S.H.I.E.L.D. congratulates the top performers!
-
- Scrolling on any supported menu screen now accelerates depending on the strength of the swipe used.
- S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents using PC interfaces may use their mouse wheel to scroll through supported menu screens.
- Selling a rewarded 1*/2* character from the Rewards Cache has been streamlined to show only one popup to show the sell price. 3*/4* star characters still have a two popup system to confirm the sale.
- The Critical tile is now more gem-like and better displays that it works with all varied colors.
-
- The download size of the application on iOS has been reduced to under 100MB to allow users on cellular networks to download the app. Additional assets will be downloaded in the background while the game is running.
I like all the changes. Especially the mouse scroll
As for the Alliance stuff, we still don't have a confirmation how exactly the chat will work, like will it keep messages, so that people offline will be able to read it. date and hour of the message might also come in handy, so that we won't do some **** manouvers like with TBTI...0
