Thanks for the information! Sounds like if I'm trying to maximize points I should play a specific level to completion--down to one point or however low I'm willing to go--before moving onto the next one.

Yup. You could also be lazy and play each sub only during the last couple of hours: you dont have to worry about refreshes this way and you still rubberband a ton of points!
  • The danger there is that you don't leave enough time, or you hit enough bad patches of luck that you run out of health packs, and you can't complete enough missions. But for many of us it's a worthwhile risk to take in exchange for keeping our sanity (and jobs/relationships).

But if I do that won't I miss out on the first couple rounds of stacks? Your strategy seems like it would work if I'm trying to get the most amount of points for the least amount of work but if the goal is to maximize points then I would want to play a node immediately after it becomes available, play it down to 1 point and then wait 8 hours and repeat.

The difference actually isnt as big as you think. Im not exactly sure how many more points you would get from grinding each refresh as opposed to just rubberbanding at the end: i suspect the actual difference is probably around 1k points, which is chump change if you consider how you can grind the main event missions for 5k points every 8 hours. If you join a sub late, you also wount be competing with people who started grinding early, so its not like you sacrifice winning your sub in order to do this either.

Thanks for the help everyone--really appreciate it. I'm not so worried about the Hulk event because I'm pretty solid with getting all three Thor 3* covers and have no chance of getting the Wolverine 4* one but this is nice to know for future use. I just barely missed the final Punisher cover during the last PVE. Now that I know how to game the system it shouldn't happen again.

One thing you do need to consider though is that the community scaling will make the missions harder as time progresses. Like mischief said, this might be a problem if you get unlucky and burn all your health packs. I think high tiered players arent really concerned with this detail as much since a high level spidey + some solid dps can trivialize any fight with some boosts, but if you dont have that luxury, then you might want to consider starting early anyways so that you can at least get some points for completing missions that you can beat.
  • Out of curiosity, anybody have any insight into what the point threshhold is to break into the 1001-3333 tier? I'm around 4600 now, and I'm vaguely considering if it would be worth it to make that push...

    +1

As a 2* player who doesn't use MStorm and has had relatively high MMR due to recent PvP placements, I've started the last two sets of subs at the three-refresh mark (instead of my usual two-refresh mark) due to community scaling. I don't want 90% of my fights to be health-pack-mulching coin flips again L130+ villains. I sacrifice a bit of sub placement due to bracketing (some Top 100s instead of all Top 4/20s), but I more reliably get points for main placement and more mission completion rewards.

I am constantly teetering on the brink of 3333 (right now I'm #3553 but have a fresh refresh to go through) and I have 156,248 points.

    Im 1500 with 177.000

I should made it safely into the 1000 - 3333
  • I'm still trying to build up my roster so having the problem of trying not to earn too much. i'm around 7000th at the moment (130,000) as I would rather the 3 Wolverine covers than Thor.

That's what I did the last time the Hulk event was run, I made sure not to get into Hulk reward range and collected 3 OBW covers for my trouble. Much better to have usable covers then you can springboard those covers to more goodies.

They *really* need to not do another event until they've got some new villains. Not different shades of goon, ala The Brotherhood mutants, but actual villains. The Dark Avengers are beyond tedious now. Especially when they're scaled up the wazoo.

Nobody's hanging for another repeat of an event. Three in the last month is more than enough for the foreseeable future.

Totally agree with you. I'm trying to transition to a 2* roster but need a few more covers and a ton of ISO to do it lol. I got lucky and pulled 2 OBW covers from tokens yesterday (1 standard and 1 heroic) and now have her to 3/5/4.

Anyone near 1000? What's the threshold? Got up to 1100 on the last stack

We need an event working for Osborne instead of Fury.

Daken, Moonstone and Ares can be buffed with super buffed Juggernaut for the players.

I could go for another Simulator event.

Yeah, that was definitely the most fun event so far. Even though the scaling was hell for me from day one.

Has anyone else has got a gold standard token? Playing the BP battle in Bolvia and won the standard recruit token, claimed it straight away but the shield logo was gold not silver like normal. Cashed it in and it was blue Spider-Man. Mine is 5 blue already and no need for a respec so I sold it but man, that was a cool surprise.
