Everyone who's been whining lately about scaling wanted the Hulk. Here it is. The ultimate grind fest.
Same. If I recall correctly, 4 subs concurrently rears its head and boy do I dread that.
Ah man I forgot about that. That's going to be awful. Hopefully they don't double run Hulk like last time.
At least with Patch these can go fairly quickly. Though I'm not sure it goes as fast as it did with 2* Wolvie.0 -
Is it just me or are there more stacks than usual. I still haven't hit 1 on my missions this refresh. But I've been going from high mission to high mission so I've lost track.
I'm self imposing a rule of no fights under 50, otherwise I'll go crazy.0 -

Stack size is 5.
However, scaling is very very bad in this event so far. It is definitely **not** worth grind them all to 1 in the long run. Given the current accelerated scaling rate, not seeing 230s everywhere for everyone is going to require a small miracle by Day 9.0 -
I've been fighting almost all 230s since TaT introduced scaling.
I'm used to it by now. It's nice being able to see little green checkmarks again though, the Hulk missions even with scaling are easier than the previous few events - way more goon battles involving easy goons.0 -
Scaling is so effing ****, the top guys on each hulk sighting of the event, neither have a lv 80 chars they barely have lv 50s and they have 4k points, i look at the fight nodes and all i have is lv 80 mob, then on node 2 lv 140 mob. Is not even worth to try to get points except the first time bonus.
And i dont even have lv 100 heroes, hell i dont even have a maxed 2 star yet and i get stupidly high enemy nodes, the worse part is that i only started one hulk sighting, did 2 fights , log back after a few hours and the fights are now not even worth the trouble.
I dont get why they keep trying to force scaling if its so broken right now. Might as well aim to get the ares covers i need from the pvp event.0 -

This event is *fantastic* for me, though. Tokens with a majority chance of producing Thor, oBW, or a three-star? Yes please . I already picked up an oBW purple too.0 -

I'd be careful with that assumption.
Nevada - Black Panther has Ares as an opponent. Ares did not exist the last time the Hulk event was run. I would further expect that the event rolls on, and the general mission difficulty increases, that players will see retooled mission nodes.0 -
I think I must have got put in some higher bracket. My girlfriend is playing too, but started playing the game after I did and played less. So, she has lower level characters and fewer heroes total. I think she has about level 20 Hawkeye and iron man, even managed to pick up IM40 on a standard token.
So, in the main event tab (not the dailies), her dark avengers on, she's fighting level 15 baddies. But for me, my dark avengers one in there are all level 80 plus. And in the dalies, I'm lucky if they are only 80 level. Most are 90 or 100.
I started playing mpq maybe 1 day before she did. And we just started just over a week ago. Main difference is that I did the brotherhood event last week and did pretty decent. Now all of a sudden though, I don't even have a chance.
My best two 2* are CStorm and MNMagneto ... Both at about 47 and 48 level. Thor, at 40, but hardly any cards for him. And all of those, only because i dropped $20 buck on 8k iso earlier so i could try to level up some. Panther is only 1/1/1 and maxed as much as I can.
Point is, no matter how good I may play, or even how good a board may be....This is beyond challenge for a lot of these levels. I didn't even have a chance on any Canada level yet. In Nevada, I managed to get to 109th place, but only after killing most of my team. The idea of trying to grind any of these is impossible really, unless I want to dump money in to buy more heals or buy even more iso.
I'm still trying, but this is the flip side of challenging. If I had been playing a couple more weeks, maybe I'd have some 70/80+ heroes in my stable, but without them...This event is not really even likely to do that we'll in.
It just would have been nice to at least compete in it, but I'll just settle for trying to place at all in it.
Sorry for any typos....on my phone.0 -

If it makes you feel any better, I'm a dedicated free player.
I do know about the scaling issues; i was mostly posting out of curiosity if it being relatively easy for me meant that scaling was being toned down. I'd like to see things get better for mid-level players too, I'll be one myself eventually.
Maybe what I should have said is, Hulk tokens give us new-ish players some really crucial covers, and it's nice to see them available. That was more what I meant.0 -

They're a newish player who's lucky. I'm a newish player who thinks scaling went crazy this afternoon (my time) and WORSE than it was for the previous event and I took a beating from non-Hulk NPCs who were double my level and then some and endured some pretty **** playing boards. Does that mean my 2 cents cancels out their 2 cents? *tongue in cheek*
But seriously; flamethrower was VERY painful before my NPC levels sliiiightly reset to better values.
IF there is a newbie-level pro-scaling going on, I think I missed out on it during the time I pretty much called it quits when R47 was released.0 -

I'm almost 70 days into playing this game with 3 maxed out ** and 3 maxed out *, and I'm placed 103 in Nevada.0 -
It seems like the scaling is much worse than brotherhood. I'm not sure who thought that was a good idea.0

Good going... and good luck to you in Nevada. And yeah, maybe they are. I'm fine with challenge though, i was facing 90+ and 100+ level empirists (spelling?) in the ISO event at certain times. I get it and understand it's just part of the game. And sometimes I can manage to pull out some tough ones.
I'm certainly not trying to whine about it, or even ask it to be easy - I just think it's really odd how everyone seems to be getting different results, different scaling, etc. If I just understood what caused my account to get scaled like it was, then at least I could have a better idea of what to do about it, if anything. Right now, it's all over the road for me.Rajjeq wrote:It seems like the scaling is much worse than brotherhood. I'm not sure who thought that was a good idea.
Exactly. At least in the Brotherhood, I stood a decent chance of being able to clear an entire level. Here, I've been lucky in Nevada a few times, zero luck in Canada at all. But then I'm convinced it has to be about placement or whatever bracket I wound up in. Maybe too good for the lower level, but not good enough for the mid/high level yet. lol0 -
and forgive me if I'm asking silly questions about placement, etc. I'm still pretty much a "newbie" to MPQ overall, so still not sure how it all works just yet.0
-
Whoa. Rubber banding doesn't seem to be based off of the main event: I'm doing all the missions in 1 sub, and im not noticing a decrease in points for the other sub.0
-
In the global Top10 there are 7 teams (including the top3) with only 2* teams.
The devs didn't comment on or change the scaling after many events in a row now, so it's time to say goodbye. It was fun for a few weeks at least.0 -
So far I made a run for one sub (Canada) since the points were maxed. The levels were fine, between 85-105. I close the app and re open it and the levels were halved (45-55). The only exception was for the 2 Hulk missions which were 150 and 200. I finish playing and I go to bed. I wake up this morning and the Hulk missions are +30 levels. The goon missions are 200+ and the villain missions are 80 and 100. So I have to wonder. If the game gives you missions at a certain level based on your roster and the overall success, why does it assume you can beat them at 4x level instead of increasing a little over time, like +20-30? I just hope the difficulty will drop when the next subs open. If not, this will be a very short pve for me.
Edit: Can someone who is doing the 1 rotation strategy tell me how many points give the Canada missions when maxed? I think in the first rotation for me those that gave the most points maxed at 1700 and the second at 1400 (or 1200). I am skipping the second rotation since they are not even near these levels and will do a final pass 4-5 hours before the end.0 -
Its not just people with 3* teams hitting the 230 block. I have two 2* characters at 85 and the rest of my roster is four or five assorted 2* and 3* characters in the 60s and then the rest 30 or lower.
While I can struggle through the occasional goon node with boosts and luck (but if I get a poor board I'm screwed) trying to fight 230 villains is just an exercise in futility.
I'm in MMR hell for PVP events and now I can't even poke my head into the top thousand of a PVE bracket. I'm at a loss to see how I'm supposed to compete or, at present, even derive much fun from the game as it is now. Its certainly not encouraging me to spend any money - in fact its putting me off.0 -
My goons are 3 times my level and yeah, I'm getting owned and not feeling encouraged to continue.
By the way, restarting does NOTHING to lower their levels.
I must have screwed myself over somehow.0
