Nope, the game did that all for you. There is absolutely nothing you could have done to prevent it. Except not playing.
  • I must admit I'm not really having any problems at the moment. My scaling isn't too bad, with mobs around 90-120 in level, and the Hulk levels anywhere between 160-230. He's easy on his own, and using my Patch/Spidey/Mags combo the rest go down quickly enough. I'm just treating it like a good way to generate ISO and hopefully pull in some extra BP covers, and I'll also hopefully finish high enough to get all 3 Thor covers as well.

    ... That's really awesome.

I would love to throw my iPod in the face of the people who said - and INSIST - that PvE is easy for newbies.

Even with MBW at full stun power and MStorm with nearly full green and red and with 2 covers of Thor buffed, this is just nuts. I can't even touch the free-for-all nodes that opened in Canada and Nevada.

The 'free' Hulk cover will probably be stuck under some some stupidly-scaled battle, too.
  • Still trying to figure this out...

Nevada - Ranked 1294 and I see the following
    Lvl 66 Soldiers, Lvl 162 Bombtechs/Demos, Lvl 77 Hulk and Lvl 40 Moonstone/Daken/Yelena

Canada - Ranked 134 and I see the following
    Lvl 72 Moonstone/Pyro/Bullseye, Lvl 192 Bombtechs/Demo, Lvl 164 Snipers, Lvl 142 Hulk and Lvl 99 Hulk

Why does it bounce all over the place? I just don't see or understand this at all and it has become where I am playing the game less and less even though it was one of my favorites for a while.

I am ranked much worse than you on Canada and my Snipers jumped from about lvl 75 to lvl 218 overnight without me playing at all. Every mission is currently unplayable for me. Really sucks because I love this game.
  • so besides all this complaining about scaling, does anyone know how long the recharge rate is? I was asleep when mine happened so i dont know if its 8 or 12 hours

I'm running low level 1 stars and a 2 cover buffed Thor and my Nevada goons jumped to 3+ times the level of my team and have only climbed higher.

Hello instance where newbie scaling is NOT working!

... Why people say newbies get easy scaling is beyond me.

And YES, I AM terrified of even staying alive; who cares about the reward at the end!

ONE misstep or a bad board and my whole team is wiped.

On the one hand, perhaps that is as it should be, but if newbies really ARE scaled in a cakewalk fashion that everyone keeps insisting on then where is my supposedly easy-peasy opportunity?

I finished the first rotation last night and woke up with 9 hours left and the missions were refreshed, but not maxed (from rubberbanding) so I assume it refreshes every 8 hours

Could someone explain to me how are people getting so many points? :S I did both brackets twice now (up to a point where a single node was not worth more then 50 points - so at least 3 replays of every node) and will have a third one before it shuts down, but some people already have absurd number of points and I cannot fathom how is that possible...

Wrong, not playing even promotes it. Community scaling, the only way to prevent it is to keep others from playing. By the way, anybody heard the recent news that staring at small, coin-sized objects for a prolonged time causes terminal eye cancer? icon_rolleyes.gif

    --- BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Not sure if that was meant to be funny, but I had a good laugh - thank you.

The Bombtech ones are basically a freebie once you figure out the trick, so everybody keeps doing them multiple times. This causes community scaling to skyrocket, the scaling algorithm figures that if many others managed to beat the mission you should be getting more of a challenge.

Hope it keeps you from playing so my missions get easier. icon_e_biggrin.gif

How many points do you have? I'm nearly done on my 2nd full run through both brackets, and I'm on around 18k points so far. The timing is bad for me so I can't manage 3 full refreshes, so I'm hoping rubberbanding will keep me in check with the leaders.

I have a question, is the Nevada sub supposed to be an easier one?
  • I'm doing sort of one-and-a-half refreshes per cycle (I have time for one in the evening and a few matches in the morning) and I'm at about 11k points. I figure I'm on track for the red Punisher, which I need (two of those and he's done), and it'd be nice to get a Raichu Thor, mainly because I'm sure he'll be necessary for something soon.

Scaling is jumping all over the place for me. The "hard" Hulk was down to 139 this morning, but sniper death zone was only down a few levels. At least the tokens are relatively easy to get.
  • I am running an experiment this time. I will do Nevada once and Canada twice. Canada maxed points last night so I did a run dropping every mission to 50-60 points. (i was tired so I didn't drop them to 1). I just started my second run in Canada and after completing 3 missions I am #34 with 9.5k. I will leave Nevada for last since the points still go up. I assume they will max at 1700 (for the BP mission) and 1200 (for the Punisher mission). I don't think we will be able to get reliable results since they seem to give different total points. As I said, Canada was maxed last night for me while Nevada is not maxed even as I write this.

My focus this time is to place well in subs since I don't care much about 3* Thor, but it will be interesting to see what the different approach will give from each location. I think I will stick with the one rotation strategy because I have no desire to spend my day grinding 230 lv enemies and I see the levels in Nevada are quite low. The 3 that are open right now show 77 for the villains and 117 for the goons. Canada is 90-100 for the villains and 230 for the goons.

Can someone who is ~1000 in main share his point total, so we all know where we should aim?

The reason the community has been saying that PvE is easy for newer players is the fact that, for the majority of recent PvE events, a disproportionate number of mid-level 1* teams ended up in the high ends of the brackets. Many of the top players I saw in my brackets during Thief of Thieves, Heroic Oscorp, The Simulator and ISO-8 Brotherhood had the type of roster you would see in someone who had only been playing a few weeks.
I tried my hand at a Heroic event when I was a few weeks into the game and was able to complete 1-2 missions.
Now we often see those same entry level teams winning top prizes and it chaffes some people, myself included.

At least it seems like the wonky level scaling is screwing everyone this time around instead of just mid-tier and above.
  • Are the sub events ending at a weird time for anyone else? Mine shows that it will end approx. 1:20PM EST.
  • I've lost all desire to play this game now. Why should I be facing enemies based on how the whole group is doing? So I will be able to play maybe one match every couple of hours because the enemy teams are so much greater than my characters. Just don't see how this scaling is going to encourage people to play their game even more. It is so frustrating to watch the enemy levels just increase and increase without me playing at all.
