CareBearStare Alliance Thread

DD, your analysis is interesting. In S1 and S2, my MMR and bracketing were soft. I would get #2 or #3 with 800 points, and I rarely met the same people.
S3 was my worst season. I was bashed repeatedly - there was a PvP in which I didn't manage to score more than 300 points because I would get beaten non-stop. And my attackers were always the same guys, over and over again. My MMR, as you can fathom, was so terrible that Ice IX himself said I was locked into a hell pocket.
S4 was nice and easy. I managed to score 1,600 points in the Simulator. When S5 started, though, I was back to MMR hell, and in the last PvP I only got maxed out 3-stars and was beaten seventeen times- more than in all of S4. Oh, and tanking no longer works.
I suppose somehow they checked my scores for S4 and raised my MMR back to hell level. From what people say, it's your entry time + your number of victories + your roster + your number of days played. Myself, I think I am being punished for my Simulator score - it's the only thing that changed since S3. My PvP score has remained constant, so it wasn't that.
May you have a nice Season! I checked the sigs of the new members and thought they were very cool. Congrats!0 -
Well, now I don't know what to do. I guess I'll just play and see where I land without pushing for top 5 too hard.0

Rant time!
Every now and then, I get a question about why I keep this obnoxiously long thread in the alliances forum. We're not the longest thread, but it's still rather lengthy. Sometimes we get a call to truncate it, or create a version 2.0 thread. Sometimes we are asked to consider alternative communication methods (You no love the in-game chat? y'hear that? That's the sound of my wrist joints cracking). While we do keep up the Care Bear war room, I think the alliance thread is still a positive force for our alliance!
It provides our alliance with a brand and a reputation. Sometimes I ask recruits if they've seen our thread cause they should have an idea what they're getting themselves involved with. When we are recruiting, it helps us align potential members with the Care Bear personality of decent, hard-working, game players who like to play awesome and win as a team.
And finally, our forum thread is a platform for us to engage the community. It almost seems quaint, but the forums used to be MORE of a place of knowledge sharing and camaraderie. Believe me, I'm not trying to single-handedly bring us to the MPQ equivalent of Mayberry, but we can, in a small corner, continue being a positive place. We have many luminaries from other alliances drop by to say hello or talk trash and we welcome that. Cause I wanted the world to hear about it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have posted it in the CareBearStare alliance thread.0 -
I honestly prefer this thread as our primary means of communication. I really don't like the in game chat. And our private forum just doesn't get all that much use, plus I'm on this forum anyway to keep up with news and the rest of the community's ranting.0

Note: I've got a hearing that may go late tonight; if so, I won't be able to play much on either the PVE sub or the current PVP. I'm hoping I don't have to stay late, but I may.0

A hearing? Well, if you need a character witness, we'll vouch for you.
He couldn't have committed that bank heist, your Honor! We saw him grinding points the entire time!0 -

Naw, just my boring administrative hearing job. I'm the least important person on a power plant need determination docket.0 -
Greetings!
No doubt you have all heard my inane chatter in the Alliance Chat, but DD asked me to swing by here and introduce myself.
Game Info:
A couple of friends introduced me to this game over Memorial Day weekend and, so far, I have 95 Days Played and I am making the transition from 2* to 3*. I am missing a ton of covers and just haven't managed to acquire some of the most powerful in that tier. I will endeavor to make up for my lack of PvP scores with extra efforts in PvE until that aspect of my game improves.
Personal Info:
Why OrionPeace? Well, I am a geek from way back. Years ago, I was the Storyteller for an epic story set in the World of Darkness. One of the characters (NPC) in that story I created was Orion Peacemaker, a Philodox Werewolf of the Stargazer tribe. I liked the character so much that I use the name from time to time. I shorten it because most interfaces don't allow for a 15 character name. So, now you know the depth of my geekness.
In any case, it is a pleasure to be here and thanks for helping and supporting me along the way.

I'm a resting bear Orion, but I want to welcome you to this awesome cult of ours
On a side note, I've gotten hooked on an J-RPG/Visual Novel. Even if I wish I wanted to play more MPQ it's just not happening right now. Maybe I just need for something new to happen in-game.0 -

As honorary members, we're throwing in our two cents. We think the thread is just fine as is. It's a great help for newcomers to get to know and understand the older members, and it also shows what's the spirit of the alliance.
Besides, it's a MPQ status symbol Seriously though, if we wanted to join an alliance, we'd definitely go for one that has active communication.
ScarFighters already ditched our first thread - Fritejay lost access to his account and could no longer edit it. But when he decided to leave the game, we kept the thread alive, even though its title is now immutable. We did so because there's so mich fun and ideas in there. It would be a shame to lose that.0 -

I'm curious, who is requesting that you truncate it? D3? some of our members? Other alliances? Men in black suits with Ray-Bans from 1982? I like it how it is. This shows that we're not some flash in the pan alliance that will be gone a month from now, but rather exhibits that we've been around for some time now and we continue to grow and get stronger. There is history here. We have interactions with old members, potential new members, and other cool alliances like the StarFighters and Django Unbuffed (BTW, this is my all time favorite alliance name, bar none). It shows that we're not an alliance that is going to flame the developers for every character nerf, gameplay change, or perhaps hastily implemented "feature" that comes our way. We may not like them at the time and express that but we understand that some changes take time to get right and are needed to balance the overall gameplay experience. These 104+ pages of text paint the vividly colorful picture that is the carebearstare alliance, and I for one like to take a step or two back from time to time to admire the rainbow of different personalities that compose our long running traditions. And I shall stare on through page 150, 200, and beyond.0 -
Hey, i just approved someone called "deaexmachina" into the cave. Is he one of us or did i let some random stranger get into the bearcave?
Also, as requested by DD
And, on a sidenote, just found this:

Any thoughts?0 -
I'm kinda bummed about this PvP because with Punisher being boosted my Hulk strategy is completely nullified unless I go in and let Punisher die right away, which is obviously not very good for my health pack supply0

When I was growing up, getting a girl to do the "care bear stare" was to get her to flash her chest at you. My how times change!
My thoughts are "meh"... For each their own. Sexual preference and a potential gay slang meaning for care bear stare are irrelevant. Everyone in this alliance is cool so I couldn't care less.0 -
fedlex20 you just now looked that up? That was the first thing I did and like RWTDBurn said ... meh.
@DecoyDuck I have seen several forums with a deliberate "Longest thread" with just random **** and chitty chat. This is not even close to contention with those. At a certain point it becomes a problem for the servers but that is not likely the case here.
Others, FYI, if you are using dropbox for your sigs I cannot see them. My office seems to either block that site or it doesnt work; not sure how many others do as well. Oh and for an MPQ question ... BP's 4th black or LTs 5th green. Gonna spend my last HP today.0 -

Also, on another note, my wife, 18 month old son, and I are going to take a 3 day trip to Chicago this weekend, so my play time will be somewhat limited. I will play when I can, but if we come upon an event end and you need the extra points, I don't mind taking a visit to the bear cave.
...visiting the bear cave also sounds like an innuendo too...0 -
I'm not street enough to know all these innuendos, sadly. Do we have to change our name to the Forest of Feelings? That's where they meet the Care Bear Cousins... uh, I mean, why would I know such a thing?
We've been hacking away at PVE so much, I forgot to update our Army of One... alliance rank 36! Still seemed like a bit softer overall point-wise, but we'll take it.
A lot of vacations this weekend. Do what you can, Bears. Do whatcha can.0 -
Hello! I have a semi decent phone now so i started playing on android too. Accept me in the bear cave! I guess thats not cheating, right?
I ll try to do the prologue right this time0
