Starts this weekend anyway. Tomorrow a Heroic (Venom I think) will start and have Beast rewards.

Yep, DD, here is what was said:

Marvel: Does Beast have anything to do with the new Deadpool/Iso-8/Chimichanga storyline coming up?

Joe Fletcher: Beast and Colossus—who is going to be coming a little bit later—both of those guys are non-story-related. Kind of like when Captain Marvel came out. She just came out and was a reward for one of the PvP events; so both of these characters are going to be the same. Beast is going to be a reward for the upcoming Chapter Three Heroic Mode that’s going to be coming out a little bit later this week. The winners will get Beast in their group.

So you have the prologue chapters and we periodically run through those and make them a little bit more difficult and set your team so that it has a specific set of characters that you can use. Then you run through that prologue mission with that set of characters and Beast is going to be the reward for that. As soon as that ends, the next PvP that’s coming up after that is actually going to feature Beast as a character to use so the players that have just gotten him or players that haven’t used him yet can check out his powers and see how he acts in combat and everything

Oh great. releasing a new character on a holiday weekend? Aghh!!!

It feels like we haven't had an heroic in quite a while. How fun they are relies heavily on which characters are allowed. If it contains a bit of power and some combinations that work well together, it can be quite fun.

But then there are the total disasters. Do you guys remember the one where there wasn't a single active yellow ability in the whole allowed roster? *facepalm*

Gotta say, I'm not sure what a "heroic" is.

Those events where we can only use 8-10 (don't remember how many) characters while the rest are locked. those 8-10 are all boosted 30/40 levels (except for the single +90) and we play through a harder version of one of the prologue maps. Some of the heroics also have additional subs not found in the prologue (Heroic Oscorp and/or Heroic DA. Don't remember which.)

Honestly, I like the heroics quite a bit. It's fun to have a good reason to need some of the lesser used characters and flesh out the roster a bit more. I just don't like that it's happening this weekend because, personally, I'm going to be fairly busy. I will do my beast though.

It's probably an unpopular opinion, but I kinda like limited rosters in PVE. Really forces some strategy. I remember some old PVE where it was some level 300 Yelena and two 2 Maggias and I got really good at taking them out with underlevelled Psylocke, Bag-Man, and A.Wolvie(?).

A heroic over a weekend is pretty much my best case scenario (as long as it ends no later than end-of-the-day Monday); I don't have much in the way of plans this weekend, I've got a roster pretty much made for this, and Beast is my favorite X-Men character. That's how I managed a #1 in the Deadpool PVE.

I don't have much going on this weekend either, at least not until perhaps Monday. Watch GoTG tonight, College football tomorrow (hook'em), and play some games! Even got the kids out of the house for 2 days. Granted Beast isn't my favorite X-Men, that would be Gambit, but I'm glad to see they are doing more X-Men regardless!

I'll looking forward to see which toons can be used. I saved 30K ISO since Tuesday to dump into someone if it's one of the few 1 or 2 star characters I haven't maxed out. I'm gonna guess that Johnny Sparkler will be one of them.

Other than watching football with family on Saturday, my weekend is pretty open. Hopefully, this is a Friday to Monday event and we make out like bandits.

And just for our non-alliance thread lurkers... we finished 6th place in ISO-8 Brotherhood PVE! What in the world were doing that high up??? A new alliance PVE record was made! Awesome work all!
