    5 tries and 20k iso later, my 5/2/2 Star Lord (now level 150) was able to finally withstand some unfortunate cascades that kept leading to an eventual green and/or red attack from Gamora

    Who doesn't love a mad dash to collect 20 purple + 8-16 red before she can collect 10 red, or 12 green or 12 black (any of which can basically wreck you)?

    No surprise that a support character like star-lord struggles, but it's funny how 1v1 turns Gamora into an absolute beast. It turns her black into what it always should have been: a game over button.

    (7 tries with my 5/1/2 star-lord before I got a board with enough purple match-4s. Not sure how anyone can do it without red or purple maxed).

    553 SL, level 166, 12 tries, no luck. If his powers were not CD based I'd win long time ago, but since they are I'm still struggling to win.

    Mine is exactly the same, needed two tries.

    It's mostly luck based, but boost blurple and red, plus rainbow, get purple and red out soon, pray for another purple, and keep her away from black at all costs.

    lvl 148 4 purpleflag.png 2 yellowflag.png 3 redflag.png Managed it first try with lucky board with no black or green.

    Bright Side: She's slightly weaker then she was last time, since boosted 3* stats have gotten nerfed.

    Sad Side: Still freakin' Star Lord vs somebody with an ability that benefits from having many tiles with her eyeball on them.

    It's that luck based that's pissing me off. I never had such bad luck, not a single board had enough purple, and few times when I had enough of them ai managed to produce match 4 to get rid of purple CD!

    You think you got it bad? Try pulling an icon_hulkcho.pngblackflag.png after completing this monstrosity. Talk about a waste of time. Took me about 5 tries with my 5/2/4 Lvl 115 icon_starlord.png

    My 5/3/5 140 Star-Lord won on the third try. It was pretty much a matter of holding out for a board that had enough red and then being able to match it before Gamora. Result: icon_miles.pngredflag.png.

    4 tries with 5/3/5 level 150 SL, boosted rainbow ap & bp & y/r ap, got enough to fire two purple and one red, focused on denying black when possible, she is a pita though on this....cheap red hits for 2k+, green stuns, don't even want to talk about black - that is how she ended me on two of the tries.

    I guess I got a lucky board... I got her 1st try, but with only around 400 health left.

    150 5/2/5 - Boosted +Rainbow AP, +Rainbow DMG, +Pinkle/Blue DMG

    First try with level 124 5/5/3, max boosted damage. She got off one red.

    Denial is more important than getting your own colors (purple since my red doesn't do much). I only actually needed to get my purple off once to win. The rest was match damage.

    My SL is 1/2/5 and I only have him at level 90. Is it even worth dumping ISO into him to attempt it with such a weak purple?

    Doesn't red do a ton of single target damage at 5 covers?

    If so, you can probably best this node at 140-160. All you need is enough red to drop 2 bombs that actually resolve (and avoid Gamora firing off too many of her powers). Might take a few tries, but should be possible.

    And I agree with scottee, so denial is super important for this fight. She will almost always get off one red, but 2+ starts to hurt. Black is game over, and green gives her 3 turns to collect black and red ap.

    I can't top Chulk black for a woeful reward. All I got was 4pool purple. So now I need to earn enough ap to give him 70 levels (+ champion costs) over the next two weeks. Not ideal, but far from the worst possible outcome.

    Yes.

    I got it second try with my 150, 5/3/5 boosting only R/Y. I had my purple CD out, but it never resolved - I won with just yellow and red.

    you have to deny red pretty hard, so that is what you end up with more. purple is only a luxury if there are no red/black/green matches on the board. and then only if it doesn't open any red/black/green for another match. in my 5 tries I fired red much more than purple.

    Moose is right unless you have a build like my 5/1/2, in which case you need the purple to win, even if it's risky. 1/2/5 should make it easier, since denying red is something you will want to do anyway.

    Denial order should be black, red, green. If the board isn't completely filled with red you can kind of ignore green - even if you get stunned it won't matter since there are no red matches anyway. Black is immediate game over though.

    Can someone please explain to me how I "randomly" have 11 icon_hulkcho.png now and 5 iceman??
