Feb 24 - 26 Fresh Cut PvP Tourney

Shielded out at 702, two points behind 3rd. I kept getting assaulted by people with Spiderman probably taking their free wins. Running with 1 black cover Psylocke, 141 Patch (aka stun me) and 85 OBW. Hopefully I can get that purple Mag, I want to level him despite being in the funbalance crossfires. I need a high level DPS Villain for the lightning rounds to go with my Hood and he is good in both PVE + PVP and his tourney just started. Can make him 3/4/2 with the full 3 covers.

First is just south of 800 in my bracket, easily doable except I am not scary enough and that needs to be done in the middle of the night. And we are entering the busiest time of the tourney.

I gave up and did two quick fights, shielding at 753. There was literally no one left for me to fight except for like 3-4 people, which contain some forumites that I'd really rather not fight (mischiefmaker, sockid, and so on). Used up 150 iso on skips to pull the same 4 people 3 times over and called it a night in 3rd place. Hopefully this holds the top 5 this time. Was painful getting bumped out the top 5 for CMags purple in the last minute two tourneys ago.

47 points over 5th, which is enough to really make one sweat over the next 150 minutes

I only need the C.Mags covers from this one, so I waited for the last minute climbers to knock me down to second and then dropped shield. Looking forward to having his purple up to 4 for the Mag tourney, as I need the red wolvie and those sweet Psylocke covers!

I made it up to 14th, then lost a fight against an Ares/Daken combo. With Ares's preternatural magnetic abilities causing boards to have massive concentrations of green (at least it always seems that way when you're fighting against one =D ), it didn't go well. I think default Psy was sadly gazing at 14 strike tiles before she hit the canvas. Shielded at 16th with 581 right now.

Think I'm just going to lurk around top 15. My Mags is currently at 5/4/4, and the nerf announcement won't be in time for me to figure out what covers I should swap out.

I shielded at 3rd and now i'm at 5th. guess my bracket was more competitive than i thought.

First place in my bracket has been unshielded at 848 for at least 12 hours. Even in tournaments where my MMR was so low as to have climbed the ranks by beating teams of 1*, once I break 800 I start seeing top tier teams. My mind is blown.

I worked feverishly hard and even had to buy health packs to outpace the retaliations and overtake first in our bracket. Shielded just in time at 745. Now I'm watching a guy who worked his way up to 777 sit there for 20 minutes unshielded with no movement.

Takes all I have not to yell at the laptop for people to attack him. My first time at the top of a bracket, this is stressful!

First and second in my event have nearly maxed out rosters so i can understand why they haven't budged in points at all. They're in the 800 range. Everyone else in the top ten is in the 600 and curses, I slipped down to 6th now. How much do i really want the pink mag cover?

That's kind of you! You're always fierce competition (we always seem to end up in the same PvE brackets too), so I'm relieved to hear that.

Whoa! Somebody must have dropped, for I see that I am up to 15th in my bracket now at 581 (16th is 567). 10th place has 605, 1st place 971.

I did a few skips and it's tempting to drop, attack, then reshield to hold on to a top 15 - not sure though, this is usually where I screw up and end up slipping below 45th dude to getting slaughtered by OBW or Ares / sloppy play. I have in my nodes:
15 Psy / 70 OBW / 64 Thor for 24 points
15 Psy / 85 Thor / 69 C. Storm for 22 points
15 Psy / 64 Grey Suit Widow / 85 Thor for 22 points

I have a 15 Psy / 85 Thor / 85 OBW team currently. It looks like my tanking the last three LRs has helped, though, for instead of 100+ Spider/Patch/Punisher/Hulk I am seeing less disastrous assemblages like these.

HOLY **** I WON A DEFENSE! That pushed me to 12th. That doesn't happen often. Geez, I think I will just stay shielded and watch and wait for a bit.

I see you above me, I shielded a few hours ago at 5th thinking that would be a good spot to ride it out. A few wins on defense and some of those above me unshielding and I have moved up to 2nd behind you and I don't even want to find a slot for my first x-force so feel free to stay at one

Saw history repeating itself... and said "Oh, no... not again...."

Last 10 minutes saw half of the top 10 in my bracket all drop shields and went at each other, all trying for the win. /sigh I know how to pick them...

When the dust settled this time, I was still in 4th...

**** sorry didn't even realize you were from the forums (I can be oblivious when doing last min runs trying to secure a top 5)
Sadly it wasn't meant to be in litterly the last 30 seconds of so I got smacked out of 5th with 3 different attacks for a -55 only reason I wasn't shielded was because I was only 26 or so points ahead of 6th who was also active :-\

On other news holy **** Jozier I managed to take a look at your roster and that of your alliance mates O.o
Took only oooh half a second to know better then to attack you for the 17 points that was offered lol

Lol! My bracket was terrible, slot 1-4 didn't need Mag's cover but wanted that 4* Wolvie. I came in 2nd, fell short on getting 4* Wolvie .
