Yup, agreed. Not sure what this is, but it sure as tinykitty is not my idea of fun. Have literally stopped playing this event. No point playing something which causes stress. I remember when I used to play MPQ to relax!

    /agree

I stopped a few days ago. I know they are still working on the scaling stuff. This event was better than the last two, the scaling didn't go crazy until a few days in. So hopefully the next event will get better. I would say 3-4 more events until they really GET the dynamic scaling nailed down. I'm willing to be patient and ride it out. I looked at it like this: its a marathon, not a sprint. So long term it will be fine. The short term definitely is hard because I want to PLAY NOW.
  • I'm gonna get my 8K ISO which is sweet. Can't play late tonight so I might start my refreshes early.

Simulator & Brotherhood back-to-back is a bit much, esp. since it seems Brotherhood has been less generous with Iso than Simulator, and Psylocked (zing!) missions are annoying if you don't already have a character that just came out (I just got Psylocke from Magnetic Mayhem). It must be even more annoying for people who don't have DD or Punisher, either.

I'm only doing one cycle in the current subevents. I still haven't really figured out rubberband timing, so two cycles for 3k Iso (no more 5k Iso single-run missions) and two Cap tokens per pair of events is just tedious after two weeks of the same.

Yea. I have done maybe half a reset for each sub. Top 4 the whole event with just that, but I am going to be f-ed by work tomorrow. As such, I cannot do a final reset...the most important one :/. So I really hope I can squeeze in a top 10 finish even at this point. I just don't see 2nd as a possibility given my work circumstance. I am going to go 0/3 on the xforce colors I need this week lol. I HATE events that end on weekends.....
  • The last sub bracket is just brutal because The Hood is one of the most powerful characters in the game, and combined with the fact that the computer plays him well since all he needs to do is stay alive and steal AP.

But The Hood has considerably less HP than other characters. I had a game where I couldn't do anything due to his AP steal so I just had Psylocke match 3 her way to kill The Hood. Lost a person in the process but there's definitely a difference between 6K and 10K.

Even though it might feel like brotherhood gives less iso, I don't think this is the case at all. Simulator was 3.5k iso in big rewards + 20 nodes to farm over 3 days. This event has 1k iso in big rewards + 10 nodes to farm each day, meaning that it ends up being 3k iso in big rewards + 30 nodes over 3 days, which is actually slightly more than simulator in terms of total potential iso. Simulator also had annoying required characters such as Hulk, which is even rarer than Psylocke/Punisher. I will agree that the farming is getting a bit tedious though, but thats mostly because of all the 230s that need to be taken down.
  • I'm for sure burned out on this event. I think I will have to do some break as soon as it ends. I'm on big lead so I even stopped doing 2 clears and just log in 3-4h before end do couple of missions and log off. Having **** luck on covers from rewards does not help either. Out of 26 tokens so far I've gotten only one 3*** cover (Daredevill). I'm so sick of seeing Cpt, Storm or Magneto...
  • Spain's 1000 ISO mission is up.

Fair enough. Psylocke was the only Brotherhood character I didn't have before the event started, while I think Hulk was the only Simulator special char I did have, so my impression of Simulator is mostly extrapolated by feel. Also, I've only gotten maybe 60%-70% of the 500 Iso rewards when doing two-cycle (1 reset?) farming down to 1 point/obliteration, so that's skewing my perception, too.
  • I think due to one of the two sub bracket's big iso mission never unlocking we may have gotten less Iso compared to Simulator. I assume that's an error in D3's part because if you look at the progress bar, the one that didn't get unlocked usually was nowhere close to unlocking. In some cases you'd need double or even triple the number of current players to hit those goals.

Again, I think the increased number of nodes theoretically makes up for the big iso mission not unlocking just off of first completion bonuses alone. It's possible that the devs intentionally made it really hard to unlock the missions so that they give us the illusion of being able to unlock two missions per cycle.
  • For me, the scaling of the enemies was perfect for my 85 OBW - 85 Ares - 85 Punisher / 55 Psylocke team. Starting each sub the enemies were 80-100lv. I noticed that the Doom Bots enemies went up as I played reaching 160-180 lv, but the enemy teams that had heroes remained relatively low gaining only 10-30 levels. Of course I was tanking after I beat half the missions 1-2 times, which dropped them ~10-20 levels. I was boosting like crazy though because I didn't have much time to play and couldn't afford a team KO with only 1 healing pack remaining so I ended up spending 3-4k ISO. Tomorrow I'll get the 8k ISO which will cover some of the ISO I spent yesterday and today. I am #1 in main with 118k and got red Punisher I was missing to make him 3/5/5.

I think these events are simply too long. Taking up a full 2 weekends of the same thing kind of gets to a point where it feels soul crushing.

In theory usually everything works fine. In practice though more missions means more boosts when you can't handle some strong teams and if you add this to the cost of the boosts which was doubled during the event, I doubt the players made more ISO.
  • I quit caring a looong time ago. I'm currently 140th place overall, even though I've participated in all the subs and even placed in the top 20 of most.

It will be my worst placement ever in a PvE, but I'm ok with it.

Got up to 125k with the latest refresh: yay for 8k iso. Now I have 80k iso in the bank waiting for BP: made up some of the iso lost from leveling dumb Psylocke up to 50 for the PvP tournament.

Congrats! Which ones BP again? I can't seem to hold on to ISO, but I am saving up covers other than the ones that can drop Psylock, not that they ever do.
  • I have 128K but there are two guys ahead of me with 129K.

I seem to never get those easy brackets where you can casually get your way up to #1.

Black Panther: he seems like the perfect compliment to Punisher (although I don't know about him vs 230 DAs...) so I'm going to get him up to 141 ASAP. He seems like a really good defensive character too, so he fits my style of leveling characters that are decent on both offense and defense. I'm in 1st with 128k points so I should be able to secure 3 BP covers + hopefully 3 from the PvP tournament (although I'm doing this one without having heavily tanked, so I might not be able to get an easy 800 points this time around).

I think I joined around 11PM EST the night the event was released, and my bracket only has 3 people above 120k. Do you remember what time you joined?

On the bright side, one more subevent to go! I bet that we get a single event to conclude the story line like that one event interlude in the middle. Hopefully theres a bigger iso bounty for the lab in this one.

I joined about the same time. There are also only 3 guys above 120K. Problem is both of those guys have 129K while I have the 128K. icon_e_sad.gif

I started off #1 with a small lead on #2 and a 2K lead on #3, but the two days where the event ended at the middle of the day there was a 4K turn around and I'm now 2K behind. Been making up that lead but doesn't look like it'd be enough. Well, it's actually pretty interesting and fun, but it'd be more fun if I was able to make that up that lead at the end!
