  • I like the way respecs are being implemented. It will be nice to use all my covers regardless of whether it's the build I want. I've wasted several covers b/c they weren't in the final build I wanted. This way I can at least build towards a level 141 and then tweak it as needed once I get there.

Thanks for the heads up - I'm quite excited for this.

    What boosts are being retired?
Still being figured out, and the retiring is all server-side, so we can flip things around up until it launches. I guess technically after too, but that's less likely. At this *very* moment, the idea is to retire the Starting +3 AP Boosts (maybe the color damages too?) and introduce stackable +1s at similar cost. So it would provide more mutability in what boosts you choose. But again, that's not final.

    I have a 4/5/4 3* Spiderman. I also have a 1/0/1 3* Spiderman.

Can I use the 1/0/1 to respec the 4/5/4? Or does it have to be single covers only?
Once a cover has been turned into a character, they are no longer considered as potential to raise another character. You'd have to find other covers after the fact.

    I like these changes.

For the Respec, for the inevitable Spidey/Mags nerfs, anyone with 13 covers should automatically be awarded the 2 covers they are missing, and an option to sell similar as was done with Thor/Wolverine. For buffs/redesigns, it would be nice to get the missing covers. I'm thinking of my 4* Wolverine here, but I don't have 13 covers. Also, might be good if the costs were halved for any character with 13 covers.

I hereby invite everyone to the Forum Alliance.
I think the only problem with that is some people might think the value of selling the covers might be better than actually respec-ing. This is mostly only applicable for 3 and 4 *'s since you can get HP for selling the cover. I don't personally think I would ever do that, but depends on the situation.

I'm in for a Forum Alliance, despite being mostly a lurker.
  • Respec system sounds great. Now I finally could max OBW without fearing to mess her up in the long run, cover was about to expire in 13h

Similar cost being 70iso per +1 boost (210 for a +3 which is what were used to), or 200 iso per +1 boost?

And with that...you take good news and make it bad news. Lol. Seriously, you're thinking about removing an already expensive boost, crippling it, and charging three times as much for the same effect as the current one?
  • By the way, can you help us understand maybe the future role or ideas behind forming an alliance? As of right now, the patch notes just seem to say we can form them, but no real idea of what the benefit is at this point. Perhaps alliance-based competitions in the future?

Umm, no. Again, numbers are still being tweaked, so this isn't final. But you'd buy 5 +1 All AP boosts at 50HP instead of 3 +3s for 100 HP. We're not trying to change pricing in any real way here. Same goes for the current Iso based boosts.
  • Also, does stacking a boost mean that you can use (for example) 8 of the same boost while still using 3 different boosts? Or does it mean that you can use the same boost in all 3 slots?

I don't like it. But let me sleep on it. I didn't like the +3 to all ap costing hero points at first sight but after the initial shock I realized that it was a good thing. This probably will be too. Goodness knows that no one has thought about it more than the dev team. Thanks for the additional processing time.
  • I am now performing the respec dance for your entertainment and edification. I am not the best of dancers, so it's probably for the best you can't see it through the internet.

Now take the nerf-bat to that web-slinging menace, pronto [/JJJ].

    Maybe after the Simulator event.

I flinch at the thought of retiring +3APs, but could be convinced. They're currently the main "punch above your weight" panacea; if it'll help MMR actually work, for instance, I won't immediately declare that everything is ruined and you're clearly all evil.

Respeccing for these should be the sell-price of the cover (25HP, 150ISO). Or free. Especially if the player had sell that cover once.
  • Respec. That's all I needed to hear. I can now max my Spidey for the current event without worrying too much about it for later. Well done devs, well done.
  • Now I wish I hadn't sold two Yellow Spidey covers.

I can't give away future features at the moment unfortunately, no. But yes, things such as (but not necessarily) what you state are the intent behind them, yes. We want people to join together to do stuff that joined together people can do that's more difficult to do by yourself (from both a gameplay and meta standpoint).

You'd already have a 13-cover character that's been nerfed. You get 2 free covers under this proposal. If you're happy with how the character is, you can sell the 2 covers. If not, you can respec.

Thank you. I guess I can sell off my 1/0/1 Spidey now and gain back a roster spot since I was attempting to build a backup copy with nerfs coming. But no need anymore with the respec option icon_e_biggrin.gif

Still three slots, still 3 different Boosts. Some Boosts will allow you to stack them on that slot though. So you could have say (in current Boost numbers terms), a +60% Red/Yellow damage 3x stacked slot, +6 Blue/Purple Starting AP slot, and a +100% H.A.M.M.E.R. damage slot.

EDIT: Whoops, was supposed to be +60% damage, not AP. icon_e_smile.gif
