It's probably just me but I'm really starting to feel "event fatigue" at this point. I know we're on the home stretch with just over two days left, but after giving it a jolly good effort for the last week, I just can't bring myself to push as hard now. The second mission in hard is, for the first time, giving me a lot of trouble which I'm putting down to lack of focus.
Still, no matter where I place at the end, I think I came out of this stronger - my wide but shallow roster (lots of heroes, most low-ish level and meh covers) got a little deeper, I had some very fun battles, and I'm just shy of the 100k point reward, which is much higher than I expected after the last PvE event shenanigans.
Time to meander toward the finish line with a relaxed outlook, a cool drink in one hand and a slice of pie in the other.
Good luck to you all on your journeys ever onward and upward.

Yup, same feeling here. Not sure if I want to continue pushing hard - just too much grinding!

On another note, I wonder if the developers heard all the complaints about the scaling, cos touch wood, it seems to be OK now for the easy mode. Hope that I'm not speaking too soon!

I just hope at the end of it I still walk away with one Psylocke cover. Just one will be fine for now...but the last hours of any event always go a little weird with points earnings, so maybe not...

  • I'm pretty much just ISO farming at this point - I got the progression award I wanted (Yellow Patch), would like the 75,000 award but not willing to kill myself grinding for it, and would like a Psylocke cover but figure I'll get one eventually either way. I think I'm at the cusp of the top 50/75 and I'll try to get top 50, but if I've got to go crazy grinding I"m not going to bother. I haven't gotten a single useful highly trained token, so I'm pretty apathetic about those as well.

It isn't just you, I quit grinding at the weekend. I'm in a pretty competitive bracket, I basically said to myself:

    a) I can spend the next 5-6 days glued to my phone grinding Lv230 behemoths constantly, in order to finish in the top 10

    or

    b) I can put my phone down, do something else and relax, hoping to finish top 50 with some selective playing (on train journeys, during lunch break etc)

Here I am, a couple days out, currently in position #20 in my bracket, feeling pretty decent about it. The difference in rewards? Two covers instead of three ('losing' a blue one that I don't envisage maxing out). It is probably the first PvE event I have not grinded since these PvE events began.
  • I couldn't play yesterday so I left thousands of tourney points on the table. I'm not 11K back of first, used to be 1st/swapping 1st and 2nd. I'll hope for a top 10 finish, don't need a yellow IW anyway.

I'm starting to be like this. I have a mid tier team so I can't really compete with the low level people with the current system -- nor can I really compete against people with multiple maxed out players. Yesterday midday I was up to 3rd in my bracket then I started falling because I wasn't able to earn enough points per fight. I realized once I was out of the top ten, that I just needed to do enough to stay in the top 50. Now I'm starting too look at just earning tokens. I don't think i really want new character covers, i just need others so I can lvl up my current roster.

No kidding! This kills me. I've been using M.Storm/OBW to max AP and ensure dino doesn't get any green. Now my AP generator becomes a traitor! My lvl20 hulk doesn't stand a chance! haha
  • What's it mean when the player with the most points in your main bracket disappears. It happened in my main bracket. I don't remember the name.

Was he cheating and D3 revoked his account? Or did he delete his account? Or is it a glitch and his name is not on the list anymore.
  • Most likely a cheater. Their accounts aren't deleted, they're shunted off into their own little world where other players don't see them. You might also notice that the number of players in your bracket has increased by 1 above its previous round number.

It's also possible that they 'disappeared' if they stopped playing for long enough that a bunch of other players jumped past them in rank, but I guess it was too sudden for that, or the points don't match up?
  • Alright! Finally stopped the streak of endless Captain America pulls!

....only to replace it with a streak of endless Daken pulls. More like Highly Drained Tokens.

Not going to grind these last subs - just a single pass for ISO, and then probably just the goon missions on refreshes to keep a Top 10. I've played this one a bunch, but it's still been the least grindy event for me to date. There are still tweaks that need to happen, but they're getting closer to the mark for sure.

No, because the points don't match. He should still be in top 10 by big margin even right now.
  • I just don't have the guts to fight lvl 230 mStorm, I must admit, it feels wrong on too many levels and is unbeatable with my weakish roster. Maybe when I just have time and spare healthpacks to try and lose hilariously.

This was an amusingly scary battle. I finally went in with Patch, Mags, Hood, and used some long-neglected boosts. I knew that if the enemy team got 6 red or 6 green, the battle would likely be over at that point. Storm would grab all the jungle tiles, get 5 of all colors, dino would eat a few people. I doubt I could beat lvl230 jungle mStorm+dino without boosts.

Mags/Hood/Storm is now my main team for jungles/desert. Every color is devastating and useful, and they rake in more AP than they can use. mStorm > Patch in jungles.

My typical team is this event is
    Hood / spidey / doom.

Doom was taken away here so I subbed in hulk figuring he would need to eat Dino bites as spidey healed and stunned as much as possible. I got lucky with a blue heavy board. Accumulated 24 blue in just 4-5 turns. Was game over from there. Hulk took forever to eat them down with his red but hoods yellow and black abilities helped it along a little bit. Took less than 1k damage all match. No boosts.

I'm weary of using the Spidey Stunlock strategy. It's very effective, but I've used it a few too many times. Ahead of his nerf, I've been avoiding him. I'll occasionally take him into the Prologue to heal up some people, usually Mags and Hood.

I'm riding the Spidey-train as long as I can, lol. I'll have to retool my strategies/teams after his tweaks come through, but for now I'm addicted.

    Last dance with Mary Jane(Parker),
one more time to heal the pay-a-in...
  • I made the grave mistake of joining the final round right away (in hard). The top two in my bracket were well past 23k by the time I threw in the towel and called it a night.

Maybe I can sneak a top spot away in the easy sub by joining in the last few hours.

    /agree

Not sure what it is for this event for me but just haven't been feeling it. Maybe I am grinded out. Probably not going to get any covers at this point just tokens. Part of it I think is the scaling grind still needs more tweaking and so many other things going on in the game. I am sure I will pick up Psy later on but have sooo many other characters to build up right now...

The comic geek in me wants to correct you and say that it was Mary Jane Watson-Parker.
The musician in me knows that those two extra syllables would mess up the tempo and appreciates the Tom Petty reference.

    Ahhh, inner turmoil....
  • Jesus christ, just had all of my (decent) characters wiped out in quick succession through the most ridiculous enemy countdown placements.
