    Easy with 2/3/3 Lvl 168. Got Hulkbuster Black. 2nd attempt

    Got frustrated with this one. my 2/5/3 was only level 70 when I started this.

    Bumped him up to 120 no boosts. No dice.. not even close.

    Bumped up to 140 no boosts. Got him about halfway down, and wiped. Ok.. try it with boosts.

    Stayed at 140 - used the three iso boosts. Got enough to fire off two yellows at the same time with the intent to match away his red, but he first matched his own red tile away(putting a new one in an unreachable location) then he was able to match away half or more of the countdown tiles. Actually ended up doing worse this round than the previous attempt.

    Bumped to 160. Kept the RY/BG boosts and added a 100% damage boost(which I facepalmed when I still saw the 1 damage show up ever match). Actually got him down to sub 1k when the board went stale and he made a 5-6 turn comeback to win.

    Ok.. now level 166. RY/BG/All. Cascades. Blah. Minimal damage.

    Retry.. level 180-185. RY/BG/All. Didn't even get him to half damage.

    Said screw it. Tapped the level 209 80k(ish) button. Now its on buddy. ISO Boosts... Mack a match.. loads him up a match 4 black. Do another match.. Loads him up another match 4 black. UGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH... Got him down to like 3k and he beat me. So frustrating.

    And of course.. the very next attempt I was able to get him with no issues. Match 5 yellow. Match 5 purple. Was able to fire off yellow 2-3 times, and black 3-4 times. Still had over half my life still remaining. smh

    wow - how people have that much iso sitting around... good job chief on getting that LT. my iso is going to specific things and I spent ~4K on boosts, but my kp not ready to be useful quite yet. i'm taking my 4*s to 145 but I'm pouring in iso where it will help me elsewhere in the game as well. congrats on the LT.

    I stopped putting ISO into 3*'s once they hit 120 a long time ago. The only possible exception I might make is for SW, who is currently sitting at 140.

    I'd rather push that ISO into strong 4*s and 5*s instead of feeling like I'm wasting it on the weaker 4*'s(part of the reason for the stair step method I take).. but I can't cover the ones I want fast enough. And part of the way to do that is to win these 4* DDQ battles. So if I have to pump iso into a character to help obtain covers for one of the other characters that I actually want. I will. (And these DDQ battles will roll around again, so it isn't like a one and done type thing.)

    Otherwise I just save save save.

    I try to keep at least 50k for these DDQ events. I think that is enough to go from 70 to 166, and I'm pretty confident in my ability to beat any DDQ with a 166.

    I don't have much trouble generating 50k ISO every 5 days.

    This game mode really needs to disappear. First, boosted Cage. But that isn't enough, we'll add up a green human torch team-up and a board flooded with red and green. Awesome puzzle! /sarcasm

    Certainly, having a 0-3-5 Kingpin made things a lot harder for me. Half of my countdowns kept being matched before going off. But you keep playing this **** because you know that you have 8 covers at 138 level and that should be good enough to eventually cash in on a lucky board and beat the node.

    At the tenth attempt, somehow, I managed to cast pawns twice, match away the **** torch team up and keep Cage from matching my big damage hitman countdowns to eventually beat the node.

    Devs, I didn't buy a single cover, I didn't buy health packs, I didn't buy boosts nor ISO. Basically, you made no money with me from this node. You only succeeded at providing me a frustrating player experience.

    You got no money from me, pissed me, and I still got away with the legendary. Please rethink the gameplay for this node. As it is it feels like a big "**** you" against the playerbase.

    I'm glad that the next guy is Carnage. I have only three covers so I should be able to sit out comfortably.

    I am not surprised that the enemy still gets a TU. Disappointed, but not surprised.

    We were told that a client side update would be needed, we have had multiple updates. But they still have TU's. And not any random TU, but useful ones. If they really cared, they could make the enemy get useless ones, but the fact that they continuously give the enemy decent ones show that the "fix" is actually never going to come, & was just another of the many lies told to us by the devs.

    And the fact that KP is the essential for the PVE event is ridiculous. They could have used any character, but they decided to make it the one needed to play another portion of the game.
  • After 17 tries, I finally was allowed to win and barely. For my hard work I'm slapped in the face with an Elektra.

    This game honestly is becoming my least favorite and is about to be uninstalled.

    This one was really bad as the TU the devs gave Cage allowed him to have 4 active colours. Meanwhile they still won't allow us any TU or fix it so the Ai gets 0

    In the previous 4* DDQ, Ben Grimm a long-time player and forum user, quitted in frustration and rage. He said that the feature felt "antiplayer". That word kept bouncing inside my head during this event every time Cage used TU Flame jet. I'm sorry, but it's hard not to imagine a dev sadistically rubbing their hands together while figuring how to make a fight against a buffed Luke Cage, a character that literally can stand toe-to-toe to most maxed 4*s, even more difficult and cackling maniacally while coming up with Flame Jet. What were they thinking? Luke Cage completely denies match damage, has a ridiculously cheap ability and a game ending nuke... he did NOT need any help.

    It took me 12 tries with my 150 1/5/1 Kingpin and more than half of my defeats were caused directly or indirectly by Flame Jet. Having to deny green and/or TU in addition to yellow and black while scrambling to find some purple for my KPs best ability was the antithesis of fun. KP is not a character that has been rewarded much and most of the times, the reward has been his Purple (hence my 1/5/1 KP). Since he was released this year, I've opened him in tokens only twice... both times, purple. It is not my fault that I have a mediocre KP (other than not having bought covers for him, I guess?) it is YOUR doing, so why am I punished with a ridiculously hard enemy with a strong assist on top?

    The reward? The 4th green Carnage I've drawn from tokens and the third to go to waste. FREAKING fix the luck issue with LTs for tinykitting sake!

    Took me nearly 20 tries with my 0/5/3 Kingpin that I raised to level 166 for this. Note, that this means it is possible without blackflag.png or Hitman Countdown tiles!

    A few key points for anyone else as stubborn as me:
    1. Match blackflag.png , then yellowflag.png , then purpleflag.png . Depending on your purpleflag.png level, you can let Luke Cage match more yellowflag.png .
    2. Use Maggia Pawns only when there are no yellowflag.png matches.
    3. It will require some luck to be able to quickly remove the Flame Jet team-up. Leave greenflag.png on the board, and hopefully it will be put in a convenient spot.
    4. Do not worry about redflag.png . Ideally you can bait Luke Cage into matching his Unbreakable protect tile just before your Thug Coundown tiles resolve.

    I was reading this and I think you sort of hit the nail on the head here. There was talk that these fights were supposed to be 1 on 1 with no TU's on both sides, or at least changed to that format but this needed a client update iirc. How long has it been since this was said and nothing seems to be changing so far? And if the devs mean for us to beat this node, why not cange the TU's to something minor/useless (Switcheroo/snarky remark)? It's just a little too convenient that almost all TU's are really helpful for the opponent (this one, and the Mjolnir's Might in the XFW vs. 3* Cyclops battle come to mind) when this is supposed to be removed altogether. I'd agree that at least some of the opponents need no help indeed because they are difficult enough to beat as is.

    I just hope they fix this TU inbalance soon. As for this fight, my 0/2/0 Kingpin would lose from match damage alone even if I match black every turn and Cage would match his weakest color every turn I think, so I'm not even trying this one. No big deal, I'm more than content beating it twice so far (IW and PX, invisibility FTW... icon_cool.gif ) but the added frustration for people that can come close and the TU can be the deciding factor in the match this is kinda unfair IMO.

    Anyway, good luck to anyone still trying this!

    My Kingpin is at level 147 2/3/2. I tried fighting Cage 35 times, yes 35 times and still haven't beat this dang thing. I was hoping I was going to get my first LT from this node but I guess not. Super frustrating!!!

    My 1/1/5 lvl 130 just took Cage down. Whew. I tried it about six times with 1/1/4 lvl 120, decided that it wasn't working and opened a Legendary: lo and behold - Kingpin Yellow. After that it only took three tries and on the last try I had two more Hitmans that would've resolved the next turn and had 6000 health left so it wasn't even really close. Flame Jet was annoying, though.

    Reading through all the pages of outrage every 4* ddq (except PX week), I'm looking forward to when I run out of mostly covered 4*s and have to send in the clowns aka Flaptain, Mr F, Iceman etc. I have no doubt they will provide me hours of entertainment... I'm sure raging at the rng will be as fun as Galactus 1!

    I burned about 30 health packs on this thing, (thank you taco tokens). Killed him with 69 health left.

    I know all the other events may have been determined largely by board luck, but this one was just ridiculous. The green tile needs to land in the correct place or you're dead. He can't get too many lucky match 3s or you're dead and he can't cascade or you're dead. And your damage ramp up is so slow that your game is going to be well over the 30 turn mark, which gives sooo many chances for unlucky black drops.
    (Unless your KP is so high a level or you get a really lucky board.)

    The opponent having a TU and you not having one is built into the challenge, and is mostly a good thing as it can add a dimension missing from the two selected characters. The only issue is that this one was below the belt.
