2/3/5, 150. Took 3 tries. First one Flame Jet completely nuked me. Second I was doing ok but got hit by a red cascade into black.

Third still was down to 1k or so, but able to get enough yellow out to do the job.

having 5 in purple means I can pretty much neuter cage's uppercut....but I still don't a shot at taking him down. His black alone is enough to kill me fast. And if that's not there that stupid TU kills me.

That should be good enough. Mine is 2/5/3 at a similar level, and I beat it. Just deny Black as much as possible and pray for a good Flame Jet placement. It could take a few tries, but don't give up.

well, since I'm mostly sitting out this PVE and Sentry has only just stared I guess I can spare the health packs icon_e_wink.gif

The good thing is that if you manage to control these two colors you will win (well if you can do damage with your black or your yellow, not going to win this battle with match damage, so people with 4 covers or less probably can forget about this battle).
False False False. 0/10 so far and half of my losses are from the stupid TU. unless you luck into it being matchable, its nearly automatic 3-4K in damage. my fisk is 3/2/4 level 145. this should not be that much of a problem. try 7 got him down to 300 health or so, but no dice. tried controlling TU/green, but that's just not doable when you're denying black hard and chasing purple. now I just save trying to wait until he matches his protect, then cast yellow/black.

Do the opposite - keep all the green on the board. When he fires the TU it is much more easily matched away quickly.

    My Kingpin is 4/3/3:
1st try - lvl 100, no boosts, just feeling it out, starting board had 4 black matches and 2 yellow matches - lost pretty quickly
2nd try - lvl 120, no boosts, did a bit of damage but Cage's match damage is still beating me down too quickly, and a Jab seems inevitable - need enough health to survive it
3rd try - lvl 140, no boosts, denied black pretty well, allowed yellow because I had enough purple to steal it from him, had enough black to triple cast wilson's gambit but that still left cage with over 6k health! Kept grinding, fired yellow, and wilson's gambit twice.....down to 1089, at 400 myself with a blue and yellow CD still on the board. I make a match that creates a match-4 for cage, he takes it, eliminates his protect tile, and my yellow CD ticks to 0 and goes off dealing 1100 damage giving me the win!

OML redflag.png for my efforts icon_e_biggrin.gif

In hindsight, it would be best to just hoard black/yellow until Cage matches his own protect tile. Then fire everything for max damage.

RNGesus was smiling on me today, though my 5/5/2 236 Kingpin helped, I'm sure. Did it on the first try, mainly because I only took one Jab and the TU landed in a matchable spot in the middle of the board.

My token pull went well too: icon_silversurfer.pngredflag.png

P.S. I know it's been said several times in this thread already, but I'll say it again: Flame Jet? Seriously? That's rude.

One of the easiest for me. (4/4/5 Kingpin at level 167)
Did it on the first attempt with half health left. I took a few jabs but was able to kill the kd before the cross came in and the green tu was matched away on right after the cast. My purple kept his yellow in charge and I killed Cage with my CDs

My token was 1k iso :/

what do you know? lady luck smiled on my on the 8th try. Cage got next to no black match and I could match away his green ctd right after he placed it.

Even got a red OML for it icon_e_smile.gif

yeah - I quickly realized, you just have to luck into a matchable spot there - you cannot deny tu fast enough while denying black and too much yellow. some yellow is ok, but obviously only to an extent. 0 for 13. 12th time went really well - had him down to 400 again. if I do really well at denying, a cascade gets me before I can finish him off. I have no pvp and only playing pve for cps. I will throw every recharged health pack today at this dammit.

This wouldn't be a big deal if KP wasn't the essential for the current PVE which rewards CP.. between fighting the PVE node repeatedly trying to win the 1 CP and now his 4* DDQ.. health packs.. get them ready.

They couldn't wait to have KP for next week. We could have had Mister Fantastic today, he's just sitting around doing nothing but stretching himself.

3/5/5 KP @ 188 here. First try, basically no problems.

This matchup is relatively easy with a maxed KP, even with a less than ideal build like mine. Deny black as much as possible. Use purple to suppress ai's yellow. Wait for damage tiles to resolve, finish off with finger pokes.
The only real danger is a board that insists inn giving the ai black ap.

That said, I imagine this matchup will be very hard on undercovered KPs.

Edit: joy of joys, my 9th star-lord purple cover! Still no yellow, but woohoo, so much purple! Just what i wanted!

That bleeping Flame Jet. My 1/1/2 KP was doing ok until that stupid TU was dropped. I was leaving all the green I could but of course it gets dropped in a corner.

I can't wait until the Carnage one since I actually have him halfway decently covered. I may actually win that match except of course they will do a level 500 Doc Oct. with a 270 level battleplan TU.

Is this the first time the 4* has been the essential in the ongoing PVE event? I don't recall any of the others being needed. The closest I can think is DD since he had his PVP but I can't recall if they overlapped.

I'm pretty good at the denial game, I made it a personal habit since I started playing because I had the foresight to know that at some point it would be a useful skill...but denying black yellow TU and green is close to impossible. By my reckoning you would need a fairly well levelled KP so you can absorb some of the damage that LC dishes out while saving up for the big poke. Mine has 7.5k health or so.

Just gave it another shot, Cage never got to use black, I matched his TU away as soon as it landed, I used yellow and poked him twice aaaaand still lost. He collected yellow and uppercuted me in one shot with about 4k health.

I still maintain pink is necessary for this DDQ so you can just focus on denying black and your pink will deny him yellow. Good tip not matching green until he uses TU whoever that was.

I've got a 2/3/2 KP (what the max level for that is, I forget) and I've wiped about 10 times this morning before work. I feel like this is still doable though, even with that Flame Jet TU. Been able to get him down to 3K. Boosts to match damage seem useless with Luke Cage's Unbreakable Skin negating them 90% of the time, so next I'm going to try only stockpiles going forward. Won't touch the greens until the TU fires so hopefully there's a lot to match it away quick.

My purple has been been keeping him from firing that Righteous Uppercut reliably, so it looks like it's just luck on keeping black away from him and ending the Flame Jet quick.

I will try that strategy on waiting for him to match his own defense tile, I wasn't keeping track of that my first go around, and probably missed some opportunities.

Thank God, he fires black right away. If he waited until he had 12, the damage AND the stun would be a quick death sentence.

I won on the first try with my 2/5/4 level 208 Kingpin. Focused on black and purple and let my purple take care of his yellow. The team up was quickly matched away so I got lucky there. He only got off 1 jab so it was a pretty easy match.

Got a GT yellow with the token that max covered her, but not ideally at 5/4/4.

I raised my Kingpin to his cap (2/3/3, level 168) to help offset that Protect tile and to help in the PVE. With using boosted Yellow/Purple AP and critical damage, got him on the first try. But I had very lucky board control the whole way through... Luke only got off two non-consecutive Jab Jabs, and I was able to match the Flame Jet as soon as it appeared. I was down to under 2000 health at the end, and only thing that could have gone better is ever having more than 2 strike tiles on the board (which still didn't help my match damage but did help with Thugs and pokes).

Legendary gave me Elektra Black, putting her at 3/4/2.

Played it perfectly with my 2/0/1 lvl 90 KP. And by perfectly I mean that he beat me with match damage alone with no powers firing!

I see how it is supposed to be done, but without a higher black or yellow, I just can't do enough damage above that shield.

Now waiting for the next one...

Same problem here with my 0/3/3 KP. Even playing completely optimally, matching the Flame Jet tile away instantly, denying Cage ever firing a move, and firing off KP's yellow a few times to full resolution... Cage still whittled me to death with match damage alone.

Currently 0/5 with 1/2/2 lvl 111 KP. I have no chance of winning, but I want to register the losses for their statistics, so while I'm at work, I can spend 10 mins on break losing another 6 times and then have my health packs refreshed by the end of my work day for PVP.

His TU hasn't been the problem for me. It's been very bad boards, and being too low to do any damage due to his protect tile. Being forced to match **** colors while that **** match causes a black or yellow match to line up for Cage is very frustrating... especially when it happens continuously during the fight.

First battle was the closest and even that wasn't close at all. Had a match 5 red right off the bat, and a small cascade before his protect tile showed up. Then the AI flooded the board with black and I was dead within a couple of turns.

As a side note, I decided to spend my 25 cp on a leg pull to pretend like I won... and got a Blue Fury... one of the only 4 4* covers that I already have maxed... out of all the possible ones... my 2nd blue fury from leg tokens and I didn't need either of them as his blue was maxed before Leg tokens were introduced. So frustrating of a day for me.

Cage??? Seriously??? Having trouble thinking of a scarier opponent....my 1/0/2 has ZERO chance as imo Cage is one of the strongest chars in game....but i guess at least it wasn't IF...lol

4/5/3 209 got it on the first try with no boosts. Denial went well, but I can see how this is really hard if under covered. In a long fight, not doing any match damage is really prohibitive.

Got the best non-5* pull I could get as my Jean is now 1 cover from completion.

Tried once for the hell of it with 2/0/1 KP, and it went pretty much as you'd expect. I would've died from match damage alone, but he got the Flame Jet tile placed in a corner and that sped things up. Not going to waste any boosts/health packs by trying again.
