Yeah... not too sure what is going on there. He's the only one I've seen consistently unshielded during this drought...I know because I've been trying to find him I'm curious why he keeps breaking shield though, he must have exhausted his retaliations/queued fights awhile ago. I assume he's in the same situation as the rest of us.

He was trying to grind out 1 point fights to stay ahead of me. The problem with that is it's really risky - the people way below the top 10 are still queuing just fine, so every time you do that, you usually get hit two or three times really fast. Guessing he got popped on one of those.

For my first elite tournament, this has been a horrible, horrible experience. I was able to maintain 1st place, but I was one of the earliest to get hit by the 0 point matchmaking, so while everyone else got to continue playing, I had to just sit there and watch them pass me by. By the time it had caught up to everyone else, I was in fourth place.

Unbelievably frustrating. All the time and HPs I've put into this only to lose because of a bug. Ithe game just isn't stable enough to take this kind of gamble on.

Wondering if I should even bother with this tourney, especially this late into it. I'd probably only bother if I could get top 1000 (maybe 2000) to justify spending 300 HP. With just 14 hours to go, is that even reachable? FWIW, I'm a 2 star kinda guy for now

I agree. There is no way I'm coming out on top of this, but at least I was having a good time competing. This situation has very much soured the experience.

You'll be able to compete just fine with a good 2* roster. Trust me, I'm getting matched to teams with level 1 Juggernauts.

I finished playing last night, went to bed, and about 5 minutes later realized I hadn't shielded before going to bed. Only got hit for -46, but I was only 38 points out from 3rd place. I'm still in it, still trying, but that was demoralizing.

I probably would be taking a long break from MPQ, due to my laptop being smashed into tiny pieces.

With the lessons I've learned now, and the same rewards available, I would probably make another go at it. The key has been having MPQ up while I'm doing other stuff (been playing FFXIII-2 this weekend) and just checking to see if anyone is unshielded after every fight I finish in FFXIII-2, once I started doing that instead of trying to constantly search for any fight above 4 points, things got a lot better. If I had started the shielding earlier, and hadn't missed on my shield last night, I would be in the top 3 right now.
